Awesome cover you guys, you nailed this!!! You know, America is in a rough place right now, and I don't think we can deny that. There is so much going wrong and so much getting worse, however despite all of that I am still proud to be an American because being here in the states is still a blessing. There is a reason why despite all of her flaws, people from all over the world seek refuge in the USA. Despite all of her shortcomings, people look to the USA for help. She's got a lot of problems, but she is a symbol of hope for billions of people all over the globe who would love to trade places with us, and I believe a lot of times in our bickering and our insignificant squabbles with those around us we tend to forget that and take it for granted. Should we do better, absolutely and we should work towards correcting a lot of this countries short comings. But, the fact we can have people from every walk of life here within these boarders, and for the most part are able to coexist along side each other without to much issue despite many of which being brought up to be enemies of each other is a pretty powerful thing. It's something that is strictly an American characteristic. So, lets remember to take care of one another, stay together in our communities and as a nation, and show some appreciation for the small things we take for granted because despite everything it could be a whole lot worse.

After not knowing my father for 44 yrs I found out that he had died.. so, I went to his grave only to find that he was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam war area. The man came into my life being just a name and left my life being just a name, I have so many questions that will go unanswered. This song means a lot to me every time I heard the original version but now knowing about my dad and what he all did this new version means more to me than before. God Bless The U.S.A and thank you to all who have and are serving to keep us safe and protected from our Military to our Police, Fire and EMTs, the Doctors & Nurses.. without any of them we would not be the country we are today.

The first time I heard this song was the day after 9/11. I was still a bit young and didn't really understand the message behind it or what was really going on, but this song still hit me pretty hard even back then. Just the meaning behind this song and the heart of it hits hard even to those who don't understand.
