ALOHA YT OHANA and fellow Home Fries! This song definitely gets me every time I hear it! This rendition with Lee and the US Air Force Band, I LOVE IT EVEN MORE! I know I didn't specifically say it in my reaction, but MAHALO MAHALO MAHALO MUCH to all our men and women who fought for our freedom....my freedom! I salute you all! Since my reaction, I've had this on repeat hahaha! LOVED IT! Loved the harmonies!
I was so excited to see your reaction to this! When it debuted I knew it would be special to you and I just couldn't wait for your reaction. What an amazing arrangement! Lee Greenwood sounds as good as ever and his runs and high notes made this arrangement soar even higher. The USAirforce Band was stellar! That rich and buttery alto...yummy! I wish she had a bigger solo. And what can you say about Home free except...PERFECTION! Adans's fly over at the end...EPIC! Thank you Home Free for this collaboration, the country needs this right now! Bruddah Sam, much love! Aloha🌺🏝🌈🤙
@@christinebrennan4484 BUTTER......smooth! I also loved how free Lee was singing in this song! Mahalo much for watching with me and for being a part of my RU-vid Ohana to wait for my reaction! Means a lot!
Aloha, bruddah Sam, part of the fam, and a home fry as well. Like you I get the chicken skin whenever I hear amazing harmony. This as well brought tears to my eyes. It could hit at a more perfect time. This country needs to come together right now. Love, love, love this song. Mahalo for posting this. Much love bruddah. Keep safe and healthy.
OH MY HEAVENS!!! What a definite honor to receive this message from you guys!!!! I'm in tears!!! Happy tears! Mahalo for your service and ALOHA much for taking the time to comment! This really means a lot to me! I definitely want to hear more from you guys sometime! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼 Aloha 🤙🏼 Bruddah Sam
Thank you for this! This project was such an amazing thing to be a part of. Your video is our why! Thank you for sharing and showing what music does for the soul!! Cheers
Listen, I'm not American, but this gives me the chills and brings tears to my eyes. I hope this will be at least a small step towards healing your country. ❤️
Fabulous reaction! Chris Rupp's amazing arrangement is still at the core of this. My main man Darren Rust did an absolutely astonishing job of adapting it for the additional voices and colors. Darren, in my mind, doesn't get enough credit as the unofficial sixth member of Home Free. His writing and producing skills are off any chart you care to mention. This version is rarified air. None better anywhere and sorely needed in 2020. Thanks, Sam!!
Sam!! You’ve missed a bunch of Home Free videos that they have been doing while quarantined in their own homes! They have been fabulous, especially the most recent, “Meet in the Middle”, the editing was fantastic! They put a lot of work into all of the videos! Please check them out!!
Thank you so much for your reaction. I cry everytime I hear this song. Mr. Greenwood's version, Home Free's cover & this one, all make me cry. p.s. Adam killed the drumming on this.
I have watched this video 4 or 5 times now & I have cried every time. But I have heard this rendition about 20 times since they released it earlier this week! Loved your reaction!
Lee Greenwood is now 77 and still going strong. The original was released in 1984 during the Gulf War time & Lee wrote the song. I absolutely LOVE this version!💜💜💜💜 I’ve listened to it so many time since it released. If you haven’t watch the video before this, it shows their behind the scenes preparation to record and some discussions between the musicians. ❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️
This was Fantastic!! Talk about making your heart swell with Pride!! Didn’t think it couldn’t get more patriotic than HF performance at Mt. Rushmore 20 years ago!!! Lee, HF, & the AF Singing Sergeants made it even Better!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Lee Greenwood said that this was the first time he was able to sing this the way he wanted to, because there were enough voices to carry the melody. It was so much better hearing him ad lib. It was full of pride and prayer.
As a veteran myself, I break down every time I hear this beautiful song. So very proud and grateful for this great nation we call America 🇺🇸. Indeed, God Bless the. U.S.A.
I was born by the time Lee greenwood came out with this song for the first time. And most of these other singer's weren't even born at that time they hit it out of the park!!
I been watching this over and over! I am proud to be an American and proud to live in Nashville, Tn. Proud to come from a military family USMC my heart is bursting with memories and love and hope that we can once again be the One Nation under God that I know we are. Thank you again Sam for sharing this special video with us, and sharing your very real heart felt reaction. I saw mine and all our feelings reflected in your eyes. Peace and Love⭐💖
The Air Force Band is a special group .... They are called the Singing Sergeants Band. They are hand picked to sing with the group it is a special honor to be chosen. If you listened close you could hear the jets fly over thanks to Adam....who did an amazing job. Thank you for reacting. God bless and stay safe
I cried when I saw the video pop up. I met Lee back in 1985 at a concert in Topeka, Kansas. He is such a sweet, kind man. He killed it live on stage. Now seeing him with Home Free and the military group.... Wow WOW WOW ! Chills and tears !! Such perfect timing for this collaboration!! Aloha Bruddah Sam !! Stay safe !!
Wow that was one of the most moving rendition of that song ever. Thank you to all of the military people. Thanks you for your service. Thank you Home Free and Lee Greenwood.good reaction Sam TY
This brings tears to my eyes! God Bless the U.S.A! So proud that I am part of this country. This should be played on every channel and radio station! This should get a million shares on July 4th
I missed it the first time and it wasn't until I saw it in the remarks that I realized that Adam had done that and had to go back to listen... and I have since re listened to it over and over... Still gives me goosebumps and tears! Thanks, Linda Slater.
Home Free released a behind the scenes for this one Bruddah Home Fry! It's awesome! This brought me goose bumps, big smiles and tears at the same time. I love Home Free's older cover of this, as well as Lee's original, but this takes it to the top! Happy 4th! Thank you! ^_^
I know what you mean about this song. It gets me too. You should watch the making of it. Lee Greenwood said he really liked being able to be a little free with his part.
Thank you for doing these reactions. You do great reactions. You’re absolutely right. This one’s all about emotion. God bless you, and God bless America. Welcome back.
Every time I hear this song, I ugly cry because of how I feel about this country. I am so grateful and humbled that I get to live here in the one place in our world that openly embraces liberty and fiercely protects our rights to think for ourselves. Yes, may God (capital G) continue to bless our country and may we all learn to live up to the opportunities we are provided.
This is the best rendition of this song I have ever heard! Brings me to tears each time I hear it! Sung many times as I stepped off a plane back on American soil from deployments :)
And that is how its done! That is how you touch someones core and bring out the best part of us 🇺🇸 They are simply the best...love your reactions, dont over think it😜
I found this version in July 2020. I was sitting in a hotel room waiting for the hospital to release my husband so he could come home to die. During covid and the riots finding joy was difficult. I found some measure of peace as I played it over and over. Your reaction was as real and honest as I've seen. Blessings from Colorado
Great, new rendition! The Vocal Majority got to back up Lee Greenwood on this song - in Texas Stadium - for the military personnel coming back from Desert Storm. It was amazing!
Nobody and I mean Nobody, Can sing this song like Lee Greenwood! I think this is the most beautiful song that anyone had wrote n sang for us Americans and Our Great Country! Tears fill my eyes every time I hear it! I'M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! NOTHING LIKE BEING ABLE TO SAY IT, KNOW IT, AND LIVE IT! God Bless you brah and HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! MEANS MORE NOW THAN EVER BEFORE! FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOMS WITH HEART N SOUL...TRUST IN GOD WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT! Why does anyone want to Destroy us when they could be a part of us and this Beautiful Powerful Free Country and Love it like I Do!! 🇺🇸 SEMPER FI 🇺🇸
And thx to the amaazing a cappella band Home Free who started this collab. w/legend Lee & the great USAF Band, for this beautiful rendition! I don't remember if Home Free sang this on one of their many performances at the Grand Ol' Opry, but hope they sing it there with Lee, that would be perfection!
Even as a Canadian this song brings tears to my eyes everytiime I hear it, but this version is incredible and I can't stop listening to it. God Bless You Bruddah Sam.
I think this song is getting such great reactions to it due to all the negative anthem and flag comments swirling these past 4 months. The USA has had a lot of bad press and many patriots are finding it hard to handle all the people who are disrespecting it. So this song is hitting a good place for those of us who still love it. They did an awesome job on it.
Most stunning version of this song that I have ever ever heard. Shocking that Lee's voice is even more amazing than 30yrs ago. Makes me tear up every single time.
Your reaction was about the same as mine. WOW doesn't quite say it, right?? Everyone had their part. I love how singers sang about their own home. Adam kills the percussion, and even did the FLYOVER at the end. But YES, I absolutely love Lee's add ins. To quote the man, God, Please Bless the USA!
Omg I get emotional watching this. We so need this right now with everything going on. Beautiful. And Adam's beatboxing. Lee Greenwood is still sounding Amazing. Especially when he sang "God Bless this Country". I also loved how HF put attention esp on Lee and the USAF band. Love love love 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤
@@BruddahSam This month on July 16th it will be the 5 year anniversary of the military shootings here in Chattanooga TN when the fallen 5 servicemen were killed by 1 shooter. :(
@@BruddahSam the last time I think I got chills like this was The Soldiers Coming Home video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GOn5BQ-H_H4.html Too emotional today lol. Between this and today is 1 month since Chris Trousdale of dreamstreet passed away from COVID-19. ..😭😭
I’m sorry but nobody sings this like lee Greenwood , no voice will have the impact his does when he sings it , his version is my childhood growing up a military brat and now my children’s as a widowed marine wife , Rest In Peace my marine ❤️❤️
Words can't describe the love your husband had for his country. I will tell you great lady what I can't tell him.....THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. It's not enough but it's all I have.
I waited to watch this until one of my fave reactors watched it & I am so glad that it was you! 💙 #bruddahhomefry 😉 This was beautiful & got me misty-eyed! ❤🙏❤ #godblessusall 💯
Awe......mahalo much Stacy! You didn't have to hehehe.....but what an honor! I'm so humbled by this! Really, like I said in another comment, it's people like you guys that keep me coming back to keep doing what I do no matter the different hate or harsh messages I get from trollers on here. Mahalo much for being a part of my RU-vid Ohana!
And I would like to add another hundred YES'S and AMENS !!! ( So being from Canada...July 1st was Canada Day so I sang.." and I'm proud to be a Canadian"....etc !!) One of the best songs ever written!! ...GOD BLESS THE USA...
Agreed!!! I am also Canadian! I didn't sing along because I wanted to hear them, but thought that part in my head. I also asked a few of the guys who chose to release it on Canada Day. Both Chance & Rob said they don't think it was planned that way.
@@meeting_meghan I have listened to this latest version I think now over 40 times with earbuds so deep in my ear hearing every part... it's unbelievably ... !!! A belated Happy Canada Day(from Edmonton).. so proud the song was released on our birthday!!!
A lot of people don't realize how lucky and blessed they are to live in this country. I thank God every day that I was born an American. Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song.
The great part of this song is everyone gets to be apart of it. which is the USA . Everyone gets a piece and we all put together our pieces when threatened.
I get chills every single time I hear this song. This is by far my fav rendition. I think having the others singing allowed Lee to just go nuts. He absolutely killed it...at 77!!!
Home Free also put out a "Behind the Scenes" for this video a few days ago which is very interesting. There is also an earlier version of this song done by just Home Free filmed at Mt Rushmore. You should check them out :-) I always love your reactions and welcome back!!
Same here, aussie, this song is amazing. Literally makes me so patriotic, everytime I hear it I want to go fly over there and help fight back against the left wing tyranny.
I watch this probably once weekly. So emotional and so patriotic- this needs to be our national anthem!!!! Kneelers should be held accountable!! Or dismissed from their positions.
It's pretty dang awesome Sam.....this is going to go viral !!! Lee is over 70 years old and can still bring it !!! Those harmonies were off the charts....thank you Sam for your reaction dude....you're awesome brother ALOHA ! You have a GREAT 4th of July too brother
Mahalo much for your Aloha! Yes......70???? Wow! He sounds GREAT! I love the freedom that he had while singing! Have a good one too bruddah! Be safe this weekend!
Bruddah Sam Your choice of words is interesting...in Home Free’s video about the creation of this version of the song, Lee commented about having having such (vocal) freedom in his own song. I think it was a really interesting opportunity for him.
First of all I wast to Salute every man and woman, who has ever survived out country. If you get a chance to watch it in your down time, you should go take a listen to the back scenes of making this video. Very insightful. I won't tell you way, though, I want you to be surprised. As far as this video goes....I loved it!!! One of the best things I've ever heard. Gave me the chills from beginning to end, and yes, brought a tear or two to my eyes, also. Thank you, Sam. Your reactions never cease to make my day better. ALOHA, my friend!
