*I greatly appreciate everyone who supports Boomstick Gaming! This only exists because of fans. THANK YOU!* I am currently wrapping up production on the “Which Weapons Fit Your Playstyle” video and expect that one day before God Eater 3 launches, which is Thursday Feb. 7th. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps you better understand what to expect from God Eater. - Deadite
Me when I play MH: "Carefully place myself for attacks, respect the monster, give myself time, DO NOT GO CRAZY WITH THE DUAL BLADES UNLESS IT IS SAFE, maintain weapon if it's really bad and I have time, etc." Me when I play GE: "REND, SUNDER, CRUSH, DEVOUR!!! PIERCE A HOLE IN THEM, BURN THEM, AND MAKE THEM WISH THEY HAD NEVER EATEN YOUR FAMILY (or something)! EAT, EAT, EAT, EAAAAAAAAT!!!!! And oh yeah, better maintain the Burst state, which means I need to EEEEAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT!!!!!"
I never expected you to do a vudeo on this game. Thanks for this. I've been following up this game since the very first teaser was released, it's a long time coming.
Does anyone know why the combat feels so janky? I've just bought this game and it's honestly so weird feeling. Idk if it's my mouse settings (DPI is 1200) or the fact that I'm using keyboard and mouse, but having Dash be the exact same button as change state feels really weird, and I think the game started me in gun mode but was giving me the directions for blade mode, which really threw me off. Is this one that doesn't translate well to KBM? Would I be better served dusting off the ol' xbox controller?
@@tiltingart9276 i have no problems in completing tempered and arch tempered elder dragons. Sure its tough trying to dodge their attacks but in comparision to GE3's aragamis, the monsters in MHW takes the cake
woah...wasnt expecting a breakdown vid from someone in the West/outside JP since God Eater has always been a niche (but seriously good) series without constant comparisons to other series or the usual "iTS a MoNSteR hUNTeR RiPOfF" without even doing research first...even the goddamn devs and directors already stated from the beginning GE isnt meant to compete with MH or be a replacement for it...its a different game in its own right at this point...
Hard to ignore the similarities though. It's not a ripoff, it's just a great game that uses similar mechanics. I'd tell someone that they're similar but very different. I've been playing for about 15 hrs now and never has MH crossed my mind, other than when seeing the glaring similarities (weapon archetypes, monster/aragami parts).
They're not missing from 2 so much as 2 (well, Rage Burst, which is the version of 2 the west got) actually being the older game in domestic release, with Resurrection being published later as a remake of Burst (which was already the enhanced version of God Eater 1) to go with the release of the anime. Blood arts were impossible to place into the game without seriously screwing with continuity so I guess they had to go with something. At least we still have air devour and also now have a really long range dashing option to close/make gaps, which let's be honest is what you mostly used non-air styles for in the grand scheme of things.
Can't wait for the Monster Hunter fans to call it a ripoff. I played both games and they are similar but they also got stuff that makes them unique. I would even go that far and say that God Eater is more interesting with it's mechanics. Monster Hunter is a good game but it's been the same for ages with pretty much no changes (Haven't played MH World yet so maybe that game finally changed it up).
Gianluca Daniele Di Maggio not really changing a lot of things, but more like streamlined and concentrating on each weapon’s core concepts. It’s a really good entry or returning point, but not one for hardcore fans of previous games. There isn’t enough of an endgame (as of yet).
clearly you havent played mh4u, it added more vertical elevation that really changes how you play the game. hell mhworld completely makes things hella better. with more focus on enviromental hazards, traps and materials ontop of things that were introduced in mh4u.
I really love the GE series since PSP version coming out and I was Hype when this game launch its trailer, sorry to say this but after 2019 came by things getting more what I expected ( my personal opinion ) and a lot of game is just blew up on stream like APEX , MHW witcher collab and RE2. Its soo much fun but the time I talk about this game....ugh....its not in a good place to launch even though I like Anime but its just soo many interesting stuff came this month and I felt like this game was about to get Sandwiched.
I just started God Eater 3. Haven’t played any God Eater game before, so I literally had no idea what I were going into. I felt like the game just threw me right into massive fights, and I had no idea what the hell was happening. It made me lose interest, but I’m still playing it and trying to find the enjoyment in the game. The game never made a good introduction, which is why I came to this video. Thank you for the information.
but I am still confused of the new devour ability,I am a burst player I am used to geb mechanic of devouring Buster:2 Long Blade:3 Short Blade:4 but for the new ones I am confused
I like both God Eater and MH for different reasons. God eater has a faster pace and the story is a lot better, but MH has better over game play and Wold building.
ok well i already told myself i'll main heavy moon, but i mained LS in 1,2,R,RB.....Which one to choose now... anyways thanks for this! WHOA WHOA WHOA 3 BA'S AT THE SAME TIME!?
If you liked longsword the amount of customization now mught keep you an LS main lol being able to tool your fav weapon this finely feels oh so so good. VS main encouraging you to stick to your roots
@@Forgetthereality Yaaaa too late, 110 hours into the game, im sticking with heavy moon and buster sword..lv5 skills are a disappointment, stacking..really?...most of the HMs are on "Engage" so soloing is gonna be kidna tricky, it took me 4 days to get a perfect on the R6 anubis (Thank you BK for the Buster blade solo video) so far, the game is still good, but i'd rather have "Shift" to be the developers again.
Its so great to see some more Content before the launch, and the new systems are great inprovements of the ones in GE 2 RB just from the looks of it. I hope u can still do some Bullit editing, couse that was always SO much fun to do and essential if u want to do a gun-only playtrough. Can't wait to see that other vid of u, altrough i already know what i will play(every weapon besides short& long blade and the hammer or the Shotgun) Can't wait to see how it plays on PC :) Keep up the good work!
MH fans always saying this is so boring cause your goin to kill monster the same monster all over again. Thus MH dont have the same monster at their quest?
Ah, God Eater 3. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I still hate that they basically nerfed GE2's Blood Arts into Burst Arts in this game. I can accept the Accel Trigger buffs being linked to Burst Mode, but having the Blood Arts (or Burst Arts here) permanently isolated in Burst Mode pretty much turned this game into a Burst-tethered game. You can't do anything good other than shooting custom bullets out of Burst Mode, and people are pulled into doing the same thing over and over again which is Devour>Burst>Spam BA>repeat. I remember back in GE2 you still had fun with regular melee using BAs and getting a Burst alters the freedom of movement giving the game an optional layer of depth in the battle. Now you either Burst or you're a failure of a player. Just my opinion though.
Do you customise your character? Yes Are there a lot of meaningful skills & stats thrown everywhere? Yes Does it involve you beating the shit out of things with responsive strategic button pression? Yes Heck you can even choose VERY IMPACTFUL dialogue options That sounds an awful lot like an action rpg, y'know?
I wouldnt go so far as to say top it but if it does release somewhere near ge3 then itd be hard to choose between the 2 But I play both so my wallet is just gonna cry mercy
I would like a sequel to soul sacrifice tbh. It has hands down the deepest and satisfying story in any mh clone games to date. Even the gameplay offers something unique although it can get a bit repetitive at times. Nonetheless, a sequel really should be made
"Hey, let's take the Monster Hunter theme and give it a better combat system." "That's brilliant Johnson!" "Let's also make all the characters twinks!" "Johnson what the hell is wrong with you?"
It makes more sense when playing it then it first initially appears. A lot of the "complicated stuff" is just stuff you tinker around with in the menus in between missions and then many of these mechanics will seamlessly integrate into your way you attack. It's as easy or as nuanced as you want the combat system to be.
Until you start playing the game, you'll get used to it. In fact some of the "new" features are old ones made better. Such as Blood Arts (From GE2: can only choose 1 always active) turning to Burst Arts here instead (can pick up to 5, activates only while burst or after devour). Acceleration trigger are formerly the support system in GE2:RB. But better. No more blind guessing or counting down to when the next buff will activate, you have to feel your way around though this time in 3
