JesstheFlamingMess Hundred percent that was him saying he was a long way from home. He and the World Serpent are up to something. Any person knowledgeable in Norse knows that those two want one thing, and that's Ragnarok.

Damn it, I want to learn Norse Mythology (I have learnt all there is to greek mythology) but it's gonna be too fucking hard. Like, how the hell do you pronounce Jormundgandr? This is gonna be a long and hard ride lol. Do you know any websites or sources to help me? Like, is there any websites that could help me learn Norse Mythology? Thanks in advance.

Well, is there anything specific in the Norse Mythology that you are most interested in? Jormungandr, Ragnarok, The gods, just to name a few different subjects. If we get a good starting point, it will be easier to get started :)

ENDER They could always show up. If he is going to get more weapons , I could see him coming upon them when he regains his memory. Because it seems he doesn't recall everything that happened yet , based on him staring at the vase depicting his reign as God of War in such a way that would suggest confusion. I think that whole suicide thing really messed with his head.

In the God of War 3 all his weapons were destroyed by Zeus. Some people really need to replay it if they forgot about it.

RUS 12389 I was thinking more of them being reforged. I think it could be a good metaphor for him regaining his memory as well as bad as in the fact you get them back. I'm not too sure they will however , as they wouldn't fit the new play style very well.

RUS 12389 I'm working all my predictions off my prediction. That killing all the Gods caused a Ragnarok-esk event. The land fell into the sea sort of with all the flooding , and what we're seeing is the new fertile land with new gods , just like Norse mythologies Ragnarok rules (to an extent.) After Fenrir destroys half the world , eats Odin , Tyr , the sun and whatnot. After Jormungand and Thor kill each other , and Loki and Heimdall kill each other , and too Surt and Freyr kill each other. Not much is left. The ravaged land sinks into the sea and emerges one day. Changed and fertile , with new God's to watch over , and two humans to repopulate the new post Ragnarok world. The only difference in my theory , is that Kratos plus the two must have lived , or humans just appear all together. As well , I don't think any gods survived to procreate. I think perhaps then , the new Gods are the result of that stuff that spilled from Kratos. Instead of empowering man to be free , it just created them new jailors. The reason I think he's lost his memory , is the confusion he has whilst admiring the Greek vase that depicted him during his reign as the god of war. Also , I doubt a Kratos will all his memories would be sane enough to begin a new family. I think the dickishness is just residual anger that he can't figure , due to him sort of not directly being angry. The reason to be so full of hate is there , he just doesn't fully recognize it. Like something in the corner of your eye , you acknowledge it without knowing you do. This is just prediction for prediction , and theory for theory. We won't know ANYTHING until they officially say this or that. I'm not in anyway saying my theory is likely , because I just don't know , no one does know aside from what they've told us. I would like that story though , it would be compelling and make sense for the humanized Kratos direction they're going for. As far as his blades go , wether that's Fenrir , or another of the great wolves , it seems to possibly be collecting remnants of the old world. Lest that is just a ruinous building. If he is , he very well might have collected some pieces, if any remain , of the Blades of Chaos. Like I said however. I find it unlikely , given the very RPG fighting style , that we'll get them back.

Yeah this. Also Jormungandr is the serpent you see devouring it's own tail in some norse art. When it lets go, Ragnarok starts.

I thought it letting go was only a sign for Ragnarok to come, and it only officially starts when Fenrir devours Odin.

I thought Ragnarock was when Jormungandr poisons the sky and is slain by Thor only to kill him after he walks nine paces by his venom

AJ Kountz Yeah , Fenrir does kick off the end when he breaks from his chains. The serpent eating his tail represents life , ever going , like the process of the serpent eating his tail forever. Letting go represents the cycle breaking , and thus life ending. My knowledge is basic when it comes to Norse , and Greek is my strong suit. Which is why I loved GOW , even if it wasn't very accurate most of the time. I've been reading more Norse though , since I'd like to know things and don't want my knowledge being based on GOW , as the game bends facts heavily.

They really need to brush up on their Norse Mythology.

Gabriel Drake It's true that they got this serpent's wrong, but Nidhogg (Níðhöggr) is also Norse. He's the snake/dragon that gnaws at the roots of Yggdrasil.

Don't worry, I already know Nidhogg is Norse. I'm a HUGE fan of Dragons, so that automatically makes Nidhogg my favorite creature in all of Norse Mythology. Although, from what I've heard, there are two possible reasons for why he gnaws at Yggdrasil's roots. He's either trying to kill Yggdrasil, or he's actually entangled in the roots and is merely trying to free himself. What's also really cool, and this I only learned VERY recently, is that Nidhogg served as the basis for the Dragon Alduin in Skyrim! How cool is that?

@gabriel Drake Sorry to burst your bubble but the dragons in skyrim aren't dragons. There're techincally Wyverns. they only have wings and back legs. Dragons have four legs and wings. (western/Nordic dragons anyway). Neither are the "dragons" in GoT or the inaccurate depiction of Smaug as a giant Wyvern in The Hobbit movies. I love all these things regardless and it doesn't detract any from the story these days.. but it is a common oversight these days in modern fantasy creature design.
