Well obviously now we know it's Kratos, but during the trailer there were many possibilities. Some people thought the character would be a spiritual successor to Kratos. Same in design but different in name and personality. Almost like an alternate universe.

Yeah, but it's nice to see that the years have changed him into a multi-dimensional character. This is a Kratos I can get behind.

Yeah it was a little too small during the conference to see that it was actually Cory Barlog. I'm pretty sure he left Sony Santa Monica after heading up God of War 2 though. Then Stig did God of War 3, Papy did Ascension and thats when Barlog came back to SSM to lead the "reboot" of God of War.

I wasn't really looking at his face haha. But yes, it was obvious he was from Sony Santa Monica. By that point, we already knew it was God of War though. I was more questioning why they needed 4 different screens/angles on the right side of the screen haha

Yeah it does seem like the same Kratos. He has the scar on his chest and also marks from where the blades of chaos were. When he goes into Spartan rage, you can see the markings glow red. I also don't think that's his actual son. I think he's deceiving the boy and keeping a secret from him...a secret the troll was probably trying to tell him. They don't seem to know each other very well, hence him asking the boy at the beginning if his mother taught him how to hunt.

Loven Tidus you need to keep in mind this is a video game not a documentary. Ares is the god of war but in the game kratos became the new god of war . so of course the game makers are going to take libertys on the Norse mythology

Thor is the son of Odin, kratos is taking on the Norse gods in this game.

And the arrow that he shot had electricity and didn´t seemed like something special, so maybe he is Thor´son, or Thor himself and Kratos became Odin in some point.

No I don't think he's taking on the norse gods, honestly the thing that stopped him was actually of a race that is enemies with the norse gods, I think you'll actually side with the norse gods, which will fall in line with how kratos has evolved as a personality, he's no longer the mindless raging god of war. I imagine at some point you'll kill loki though and at another point loki will manipulate you and thor into fighting each other which will end with either a tie or kratos sparing thor. The enemies will be the ice giants and others like that. Also you might actuall play as the son while kratos is only a tutorial thing, like kratos either outright dies or heads up to fight alongside the other norse gods and leaves the kid to defend for himself and grow up and then you play as the kid and age into fighting alongside the norse gods + kratos himself on screen as allies. I don't see Kratos doing the same thing to the norse gods and the norse gods haven't done anything to him. On the other hand, the enemies have plenty of strong things if they deal with ragnarok. Dragon, Fenrir Wolf, Loki, etc etc

It's confirmed about u playing as Kratos the whole game with ur son as a support char. Also highly doubt about the son being Thor.
