Queen Elizabeth II has just passed away at the age of 96. It was wonderful that she visited Malaysia 3 times, and the first time was when Malaya was officially declared an independent nation on the 31 August 1957 by the Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman. May she rest in peace.
3 Times visit Malaysia...1972,1989,1998...she never come to Tanah Melayu during 31 August 1957. Duke of Gloucester representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll for Tanah Melayu Independence Ceremony...
Tunku said while reading the Proclamation of Independence that "from 31/8/1957, Queen Elizabeth 11 no longer hold sovereignty over Penang and Melaka. And she will not be able to exercis esovereigntt over these 2states"
Your work has done, Your Majesty. Thank you for your service & for everything. It's time for you to rest eternally, in peace. You will be deeply missed, HM Queen Elizabeth II. 🌹
Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Malaya (1952-1957) Queen of Sarawak (1952-1963) Queen of Northern Borneo [Sabah] (1952-1963) Queen of Singapore (1952-1963) by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith (1952-2022)
Gaining independence was the best thing for Malaysia and they have progressed by leaps and bounds since then and are now a top rated first world country. Go Malaysia
@@massaerna7878 no no, pertama kamu salah baca saya bilang "mengembalikan" bukan "mengambil" Oke oke saya paham, seperti nya mantan penjajah di negaraku gak peduli seperti Inggris
not true. after the creation of the Malayan Union in 1946, Malaya became a crown colony and remained so even after the change to the Federation of Malaya
@@shriramvenumay I enlighten you here. The 9 Malay states were reduced to colonies when Malayan Union took place. But due to outright resistance if Malay community,Malay Sultans ,UMNO , the British reinstated the position of Malay Sultans in 1948
just to remind all of you malaya people (west malaysia) 1957 is your independent day not sabah and sarawak because we the north borneon still under the crown colony we only got our independent in 1963 (inside malaysia).so when you said merdeka malaysia remember us sabah-sarawak a not part of the 1957 merdeka part.
Please make correction, the Federation of Malay States or Malaya not a British Crown Colony but a British Protectorate State since 1874 until 1957 with a short period as the Crown Colony of Malayan Union from 1 April 1946 to 31 January 1948 then the British returned the status of Protectorate State until the Federation of Malay States gained it independence on 31 August 1957.
Facts Only Penang and Melaka were British colonies while the 9 Malay states were protectorates. That is why while reading the Declaration of Independence, Tunku said that Queen 's sovereignty over Oenang and Melaka ended on 31)8/1957
@@timothyanurantha1803 yeah but I doubt most Malayans/Malaysians had a very strong positive connection to Britain and the monarchy being a colony and all lol.
@@thegreypenguin5097 For an Asian standards, most Malaysians have a generally positive view of the UK and British colonisation (regardless of race or religion). Only a few ultranationalists are vehemently against it.
