Andrew I disagree with you about horses. I teach natural horsemanship and I don't have to use bits or tie downs. I teach my students on what those do to the horses. By putting the bits in the people's mouths and the tie downs on the people's heads and pull hard! Demonstration. Is the best teacher!! I teach horses liberty where they learn voice and hand signals, where they learn what gesture means. Animals and people learn by association and demonstration! Horses are very intuitive and intelligent, Their language is the silent language called Equus and they know what you're saying long before you realize what you're doing, the way you use your body, your eyes, and your movements around them. They never need words to interpret what a human says or what a human does, that's why they run away from a lot of people. All my horses have followed me and i've never had to ask them to do it. I have an OTTb now aka off track thoroughbred. He follows me, knows sign language cues and he doesn't wear a halter or any other human junk😊.
