It is supposed to be Odin hanging from Yggdrasil. There are plenty of clues. From Gungnir, to the ravens, to the hanging man's eye, to the fact that he shape-shifted and left behind a feather.
I really like this album, a bit of oldschool, a bit of modernism, a good athmosphere, groovy riffs, blast rifs and sometimes a "rock'n'roll" riff all that alchemy is giving a very good black metal album. Go on this way.
In the vein of Teeth Grinding and Sign of the Open Eye... Those mid tempo songs that made the difference in the earlier works of King and Gaahl with Gorgoroth... True Music Gem!
I can't make out the chorus, but the first verse is "all of life (alt liv), all is sprouting, everything that grows, all of life, all of life", and the second verse "all is dying, all is withering, everything decays, all is dying, all is dying".
Something like this, though I´m not sure about the chorus: Alt liv Alt spirar Allting Som gror Alt liv Alt liv Alt som gir liv spirar Alt som gir liv (?) Alt dør Alt visnar Allting Forgår Alt dør Alt dør Alt som gir liv spirar Alt som gir liv (?)
This is some serious awesome stuff. The quality and style of the Video are awe inspiring and cause goosebumps. I think the loss of the name Gorgoroth (which btw. shouldn´t belong to anyone but Tolkien) did good for Gaahl and King it feels like they freed themselves in many ways over the last years for which they have my deep respect. Stagnation is death.
God seed are more interesting musical proyect .is extreme metal but more interesting of black metal bands i dont like dark funeral and gorgoroth but god seed and satyricom are more interesting
Мне кажется, дети просто как всегда играли, ворон их туда заманил к весящей женщине, а они с испугу не поняли кто это и один из них вместо того чтобы спасти со страха проткнул и убил
Gaahl on Nietzsche: "For me he doesn´t mean anything and I haven´t a lot of things in common with him. But I think for Infernus he is important and he influenced Infernus´ thoughts. Personally, I focus on myself, on my own thoughts."
Alt liv Alt spirer Allting som gror Alt liv Alt liv Alt dør Alt visner Allting forgår Alt dør Alt dør (Alt forgår) All life Everything sprouts/grows All things that grow All life All life Everything dies Everything withers All things pass away Everything dies Everything dies (Everything passes away)
Re: Levente D/Lyrics I think the chorus is: Alt fra Ymir vi er (or maybe spirar) Alt fra Ymir, blir! Levente D. 1 year ago (edited) Something like this, though I´m not sure about the chorus: Alt liv Alt spirar Allting Som gror Alt liv Alt liv Alt som gir liv spirar Alt som gir liv (?) Alt dør Alt visnar Allting Forgår Alt dør Alt dør Alt som gir liv spirar Alt som gir liv (?)
+Ayoub El kassouani from what i found, spirar should mean to grow, to sprout. So basically they say "all that gives live, grows All that gives life, ????" i suppose it should be "dies" but i havent found the correct lyrics anywhere. Just my thoughts on the matter
+Ayoub El kassouani yes i see where you are going at, but the lyrics are in Norwegian, not Latin. "Spirer" means to sprout so i suppose spirar is just a conjugation (i dont speak Norwegian but its not an unreasonable assumption i think :p) your line of thought is probably correct for the 2nd line though, but i dont know the word they use and since i dont speak the language, im having a very hard time deciphering it from listening. But yeah youre idea on the dying thing is probably correct
I don't have this album yet. Anybody know if Gaahl is keeping to his policy of not printing the lyrics and banning them from the web? I know Gaahl has said this is because he wants his listeners to think for themselves and interpret what they want out of his music, but personally I'd like to know what he's saying and then interpret what I want from that. We all interpret his music, so why not his lyrics?
good to find someone who can finally speak sense! everytime i post a comment showing religion true colours there's always a jesus fan boy that starts crying
Fair enough :) I think it's kinda the same thing with Varg... He doesn't really care what it's labelled he just makes music at this point and other people class it. Same thing with Demonaz black'nRoll side projects, I'm not personally slagging off Ghaal, he's played a huge roll in bm.
The lyrics as I hear them Alt liv Alt spirar Allting som gror Alt liv Alt liv chorus (very unclear what he sings) Alt som eg veit strevar Alt som eg veit blør Alt som eg veit strevar Alt som eg veit blør Alt dør Alt visnar Allting forgår Alt dør Alt dør Alt forgår
I don't think he was influenced that much . He said this once by the way : When asked if he was influenced by Friedrich Nietzsche in his beliefs and his use of the "superman" terminology, Gaahl answered: "for me he doesn't mean anything and I haven't a lot of things in common with him. Personally, I focus on myself, on my own thoughts".
Yes! I was trying to make this point in response to a review that kept complaining this and that wasn't "black metal enough" or whatever. Uhhhhh, Gaahl helped INVENT black metal; pretty sure he can do whatever he damn well pleases with it. Also, lmao at "kvlt kiddie playland" XD
couldnt understand why ghaal means in 2009 after the with full force festival, that god seed isnt black metal enought for him. now that album is what i call fkkn black metal. sounds very modern, but black metal truly needs a new image. dont understand that wrong, you fkkn trve nerds. keep that music on! greetings from germany
that's rad they wen't and really did something different. they're artists, they do what they want. and they don't give a fuck who hates them. that's what it's about. good shit!
yea, its norse mythology. the guy hanging from the tree is odin, and the kid puts out his eye with his spear at the end. but why kids? and what is the woman doing?
No, Gaahl didnt help invent anything... The closest he got to it was his band in 1993 (Trelldom) where he played alongside tyrant and taakeheim. None of his acts are considered a pioneering 2nd wave acts. (He only joined gorgoroth in 1998).
Super sinister sounding, just the way I like it. I am trying to figure out the video. I am guessing kids are playing and stumble across the victim of a ritual?
+metaleer1979x Actually the man hanging from the tree resembles Odin very much. The spear, his "half-eye", the raven at the beginning, the ash tree in which he hangs, etc. The woman looks more like a seeress, her eyes are more worrisome than evil. That's how I see it at least.
