Normally I would be terrified by listen to this powerful words, but I have learned to love the truth. There are the words of Our Lord and Father, and I love them.
May I be wise, and humble enough to be as obedient as possible! I need to read the scriptures more consistently. Been spending too much time on the phone, and I like the tangible paper scriptures, but the gospel library is awesome! I am so thankful for access to these old messages!
Listening and going over what Prophets say is more important than I ever realized. Truly hearing what a Prophet is telling you is more than General Conference. It’s studying their words. I’ve come to realize how very lax I have been in doing this. Everything he said is true. And it’s come to pass.
Started a quick playlist with Heber C. Kimball, then on to a quick talk by Heber J Grant. Rounding it off with this gentleman's discourse. God is good.
I love the direct messages from President Kimball. There seems to be so much pandering and making excuses for sin/evil these days. We should all know when and what we are doing wrong.. forsake those bad things, instead of making excuses. Three years before i was born and this is still relevant 46 years later. The word of God is always right on time.
When I was baptized At the church of Jesus christ of latter-day Saints He is my prophet I was part of his leadership And the lord bless my life, as i seek the lords kingdom.
Jesus is who I follow! Jesus is the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the Father but by Him. Jesus saved me and forgave me of all my sins. And He has promised me Eternal Life. I have a personal relationship with JESUS. The HolySpirit lives and indwells within me. He leads and guides me. JESUS IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!
I have always loved this prophet of my youth. From him was my mission call and release. To this day I recall vividly being in the Marriot Center when he came to speak at a devotional. Was high in upper seats, but everyone was immediately quiet and reverant when he entered. One felt the spirit of this prophet and the witness of the holy spirit that he was indeed the Lord's servants. A priceless experience I will forever be grateful for.
An anti-Mormon once laughed at the Word of Wisdom reference to tobacco being for the use of bruised cattle. He didn't know that the tobacco leaf was once used by farmers to wrap around the legs of cows to protect them from bruises. Because they don't know about something doesn't mean they know it. President Kimball was one of our great prophets.
Yes. As everybody knows, cattle farmers all over the world these days, wrap their cattle's legs with tobacco leaves. Of course half the calves born are deformed, but how could Joseph have known that? BUT...their crippled legs don't seem to have any bruises!
@@daveyjones9930 If you talk to the old farmers who had cattle and horses it was not an uncommon practice to give them tobacco when they were sick. It did not deform the newborn.
I love him... my mother grew up with him is safford, my land lady McBride in thatcher lived next to him, he sent me on a glorious mission, .... im single 20 yrs, and he tells it like it is!,,, God bless
I was on my mission in the Japan Fukuoka Mission when President Kimball became president. I loved him like my father. He was stern, but fair, and in his own way, very sweet. I wish our current leaders were as direct as President Kimball was. I love them too, but I think we need a good stern voice of warning sometimes too.
I feel like it's been a while since prophets have spoken like this. Am I wrong? Perhaps they've gotten tired of people not listening cause all it would do is just make so many people take to social media so idk but it was refreshing to hear.
Wow. So this is where the face card thing is said in such clear command. I have heard people talk back and forth about the face card thing. I will make a change.
"Gayness" is not a sin (the state of being attracted to those of the same gender), but we still hold homosexuality to be a sin or transgression. As for playing cards, I believe there is no problem with playing them in the right state of mind and heart. There is a risk, though, that playing certain card games will lead to gambling or overcompetitiveness. We therefore differentiate between Blackjack and Crazy Eights.
