Did you know the Godfather was set to wrestle Owen Hart the night that he died? On the original broadcast for Over the Edge 1999 you can see the graphic for Godfather vs Owen Hart on screen, while the pre-taped promos are playing.
The plan was for Owen to ascend down from the rafters as the Blue Blazer, a character that Hart played when he first entered WWF in the late 1980s. Now hear from the Godfather about what happened backstage during the chaos.
Vince McMahon made the tough decision to keep the show going while Owen was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, Hart passed away from his injuries. The message was relayed to fans during the live broadcast by Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.

You can tell he was relieved Owen passed away. He loved having the intercontinental belt and did not want to give it up. Owen death made The Godfather smile. You can tell he was glad Owen went to the next life just so he could keep the strap longer.

Must agree with you. I remember listening to a podcast with Jerry The King Lawler who after the event Lawler said had a huge smile on his face of The Godfather while holding the IC belt in his locker room and the very next day The Godfather was taking pictures in New York holding the belt. If The Godfather was so depressed about Owen Hart, why did the next day he run around with the hoes taking pictures and smiling all day with the IC belt

Is this meant as some kind of weird joke? These are actors playing out roles. They do what they do for money. The belts are meaningless, except for the performance! The outcome is scripted, and they simply get paid to act. What you are saying is like suggesting, Bolo would have been happy if Bruce Lee died during a fight scene with him, because it means Bolo won.
