I spent several hours troubleshooting why my new R6 mk2 with XPro II and V860III don't play together. The TTL was way off. Then I ended up here and checked the trigger's hotshoe seating. I didn't notice any obvious problems there, but installing the trigger again more carefully made the flash work as expected. Thanks!
Bingo! I was getting ready to return my just purchased V860III-C and ProC trigger as both were acting intermittently - I could flash the flash from the remote, but not from the R7 camera. I paid attention again to how the trigger was placed into the hot shoe and it worked right away. Flash indicator showed up on screen as well. Thanks a million - hoping it's fixed for good.
I m from india...and facing this issue on my new r10 and godox 685. I thought my camera is defective.....or godox flash defective. ..i was depressed. ... I found only your video on youtube....and your video solved my problem.....thanku sir.......lots of love from.india
@@sambalpuriabeast1907 I don’t have the same trigger as you but the set up is similar, make sure the trigger and flash are on the same channel and the same group is chosen like on this video: ru-vid.comImnTzE--Q0M?si=Ro3DGVN5PBS1AY45 is there a letter C on your trigger (X2tC)? Test the trigger and flash before you put it on camera.
Thanks so much for this video, Setting to LED only solved the issue with my Godox TT350c and my R7. FYI - Upgrading the flash firmware to TT350C_1.7 solved my flash zoom (auto) not working correctly.
I was having a very strange issue, never noticed it when using the pro trigger, but today when using the 860III or V1 directly on body the flash would fire when the shutter was half pressed, then the camera would just lock up. Had to turn off and on again and then same issue repeated. Seemed being in the dark caused it. So sure enough I turn the AF assist to LED only and it seems no issues after! A life saver since nowhere online did I see this issue, and in none of the godox documentation does it say anything. For me though the flash needs to be pushed all the way into the hot shoe, the "first click" actually causes a bad connection.
Interesting, for me the LED only and first click worked. I guess people can play with the passion of the flash but the "AF assist LED only" is essential.
@@juliankrakow Absolutely, I cant believe this issue is not more wide spread. I guess most photographers are not using in a dark situation, or have AF Assist turned off already as to not distract subjects.
Unfortunately the 1.20 firmware for Canon R7 didn't fix the issue with Godox flashes. The Err 70 message doesn't show but the camera still becomes unresponsive and restart is needed
@@ClipfilmRu1 What problem do you have on your R6 Mark II? I occasionally get the Err 20 error code but I have no clue what causes it. I'm using a Godox V1 flash on it.
I deactivate the AF assist beam light on my Canon but I can't activate the red assist light on my Godox v1 pro. I can activate it in the menu but it doesn't work. Can you help me?
My godox 860ii flash is not triggering when focus bracketing enabled in my R6 Mii. I need it for macro shots like OM camera. I felt it was working When I tried first time wtih flash multi mode enabled Please help me.
Thanks a lot for the sharing. 👍👍 I stop doing photography and studio lighting/strobist fir about 3 years and now considering buying Canon R5 or R6. Any other incompatibilty with Godox stuff? I had the old X1T trigger, AD600, AD180, and some Godox flashes
In addition to the err70 error, on r7, my godox v1 flash and the x2t transmitter, sometimes another glitch occurs: the flash and the transmitter simply stop seeing each other. Everything works, the channel is the same, but suddenly the connection seems to be lost. I haven't fully understood the nature of this yet, but so far it's being fixed by changing channels to any other. The firmware on all devices is the most up-to-date. Has anyone else encountered such a problem?
Interesting, haven't run into this problem on my flashes though. Do you have other flashes to test it if its problem with the trigger or the flash itself?
Thanks for this!! That was very helpful. I’m having an additional problem. TTL (which worked fine on my 7Dm2) is not working on my new R7, either when using V1 on Camera or using XPro-C trigger. Manual works fine but in TTL the flash(es) fire but only on the lowest power leaving image very under exposed. Have you run into this issue? If so, do you know how to fix? Thank you!
Thank you for your comment. I mostly shoot in Manual on my flash so I haven't run into this issue. I had a look on my r6 MK II which has the same hot shoe (don't have the R7 at the moment) and everything works fine in TTL. Have you tried adding more power manually in the TTL mode?
@@juliankrakow Thanks for getting back to me. Much appreciated! Manual works fine and adding power won’t help. I need TTL for event shooting in situations where distance to subject is close and subjects are constantly moving.
@@alexnrs8700 Hmm, the only reason I can think of, why your flash isn't communicating with the camera in TTL is that the hot shoe and the pins aren't aligning properly. For manual flash only one pin is needed to trigger it so that's why it works in your case. Did you try sliding the flash slightly and trying to lock it in different positions on the hot shoe?
@juliankrakow, hi, since you are using r6 mark2 with Godox V1C, when the V1C is used as a slave unit while the Godox trigger is on the hotshoe, do you face issues with high speed sync when your shutter speed is higher than 1/250 (outdoor shooting- fill up flash light on moving subject)
I'm told by our local Canon dealer, here in Kolkata India, that the ADE1 adapter from Canon solves the problem. Eg. if you pit the adapter on the hotshot and then fix the Godox trigger on the said adapter, the trigger communicates with the Godox flash (which is in slave mode). It seems that both TTL & HSS work simultaneously. Any ideas or experiences, anyone..
Gracias por la información, es de mucha utilidad. ¿Podrías decirme si el problema de estabilización con los lentes Tokina 11-20 f2.8 está resuelto? Gracias de antemano.
@@BentoChess7 Before you mount it on a camera trigger the flash with the lightning button on the XPro. This will tell you if the flash and the trigger are in sync.
Hello I’m having issues with the XPROII and R6mkii. I can’t seem to get HSS activated even though the icon is on on the trigger. I’m using the AD300pro, but I just cannot get HSS not sure if it’s an issue with the XProii and the canon multifunction hotshoe. I was really looking forward to HSS.
@@juliankrakow you know I went today to my local camera supplier, and the guys used a speed light as a trigger and someway somehow fixed my issues and now my camera fully recognizes my XPROIi in hss. I felt really dumb but the guy got it to work perfectly
Hi, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately the 1.20 firmware didn't fix the issue with Godox flashes. The Err 70 message doesn't show but the camera still becomes unresponsive and restart is needed. Following the steps in my video is still the best way to avoid it. Especially the step regarding Af-assist beam firing.
