It's a good monitor for sure but i was on a budget so i bought the Neewer F200 7" monitor instead. I actually like the 7" size. It's larger so I can be little further away from my camera and still can see the monitor.
330$ for a 5.5 inch 1200 nits monitor with no WIFI camera control.. no thanks. Dont buy it. Get a Portkeys LH5P II instead - same price, but.. 2200 nits, WIFI camera control (including touch to focus) and all the typical monitor goodness. Or if you dont need WIFI camera control - get a Desview R6 with 2800 nits and for only 220$. You are welcome!
@@herbojohnson it is not actually. You can get it for exactly 330$ on Ali express. But even if it was 70$ more expensive I would say - well worth the money.
Desview monitors having lower prices for almost the same function and quality otherwise for $50 more you can pick up a Ninja V or for $$30 less you can get Shinobi which is awesome Monitor
It is good. Personally i use the application Monitor+ which has the same feature. I connect wirelessly on my iphone. I can change the parameter of the camera and has all the features, zebra, histogram, false color, vectorscope, LUT, frame assist and more. Wirelessly wirh 5ghz is not as fast as with the hdmi cable but i don’t need to activate pc remote which deactivate some autofocus face detection on Sony camera if i am not mistaken. Also my camera is on the gimbal i don’t want a cable that disrupt the gimbal motors. I put already. Dji mic 2 to avoid the cable of my boom mic. An hdmi cable is thick and heavy it won’t work well.
Hey man great review, seems like an awesome monitor! I think the one drawback for me is that it only supports 8 bit color. Having the FX30, do you notice this? I'm considering getting the Atomos Shinobi instead since it supports 10 bit. What are your thoughts on this?
This seems the only semi weather resistant monitor out there with the OSee T5+. Sadly the new OSEE has vents. I just need it to be splash resistant for rainy and drizzly monsoon season here.
One of the few channels where audio and speakers are mixed very well, maybe a few dB less...for audio perfection... 👍 ....For the Godox or any Monitor, you can use a HDMI optic fiber cable like 'FIBBR Quantum 8K' for don't BREAK the connectors with the weight of normal HDMI cable...
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis My EBU R128 report me 1.14 dB bit too loud. But that's okay, I'm a fucking perfectionist maniac ...256k is to prefer @ 128K ;-)
Not related to this device, but have you seen the Monitor+ app? Gives you monitor and control using Wi-Fi to Sony. Sooo much better than the Imagine plus doohickey app. And allows for things like zebras, applying LUTs etc. I can have it running on my iPad, while shooting on my ZVE10. Might be worth a look and short video?
It is great for getting a glimpse of what a proper monitor can offer. Thanks to Monitor+ I have ordered a Portkeys LH5P II which offers everything Monitor+ app can offer and more. The latency of the app, although usable for framing, is quite slow. Also the LUT preview function does not represent what I see in post. Lastly you need your phone to do... The phone things. Unplugging and taking off the phone in between takes for texts and calls gets old really fast. Having a dedicated device to do its dedicated job will be more of a breeze to your workflow. Cost money yes, but also improve your quality of your workflow. That's why people buy gear, right?
Can't go wrong with either. The LUT7 can go brighter and has a specific anamorphic mode, but I prefer the screen of the Godox overall and it runs less hot.
Markie mark my man,i have a question i have the zv e10 can you touch the monitor and control the autofocus or you still have to touch the camera screen when the focus gets off subject, thank you mark great work and always trust you
Hey mark, I’m trying to get my first camera monitor but I’m having trouble deciding between two would you be able to provide some insight and help? Osee t5 vs Freeworld 6plus or Freeworld $125 one lol
You're in Luck - I made three: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p5JRxtMG6v4.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jFnTPpn5sDI.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qVfqRTZB5yI.html
i just recieved my GM7S monitor and im using usb c to power it but its not switching on, is there a specific way it should be switched on the first time?
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Strange, I just got an email from Godox saying that it shows a black screen. What resolution and FPS does it monitor in? Also, can you post a RU-vid short showing the Godox still monitoring with a device recording in 4K 60fps? I'm sure im no the only person with this same question
The Portkeys PT6, you can bake the LUT into the streamed footage - which is a great live streaming feature - plus it's cheaper.. But, for regular monitor use, I prefer the Godox - it's brighter, better touchscreen and easier to use.
Have you noticed that when the ZV E10 is hooked up to a monitor certain camera functions stop working? The camera manual explains it fairly well. I just wanted to see if you had any opinions on this. Thank
My last comment referred to when camera was in movie mode. When in photo mode the camera screen turns off and no touch functions are available at all. Is this a normal occurrence when using external monitors? Thanks
