It is definitely worth the wait. For the price and what it does! I have the S-30, I don’t touch it. The S60, I’m using a lot. Huge difference.

Also, if you can afford the S-60 by itself, by all means GET IT. This light by itself as you’ve seen in my video, does a lot, especially when using it at tight spots. It works as good as a fresnel ARRI. Get this thing dude. Then, later get the accessories. I hope that helps.

I had the same tightness with the attachments on my S30. I just took a Dremel with a disk and gently ground the inside of the holders on the light. Took all of about 15 seconds and now all of my attachments spin freely. You could probably use a very thin file to get the same results that I did.

I did the same with the VL200 😉 Careful with the temperature there. LEDs don’t like trapped heat.

@@CrisshnaCalyan get the S60. It can do things your VL300 can’t. The 6 degree spot feature on the S60 is insane! And without any accessories. Just the light itself.

I think the socket on the other side of the light is to let you mount the yoke on the other side. I have 3 of these and have had no problems with the barn doors on any of them so you may just have a bad copy of the barn doors.

This is definitely not the light for using as a key light or nothing to do with keylight . This light is for focusing a tight beam and projection. I don’t even know why Godox suggests a softbox for it. It’s the wrong tool.

Maybe it isn't the right tool, but it is a tool. Using softbox with grid to soften the lights and prevented from spreading. I can see this Godox S60 do that and it is small and light.

Thanks! Responding to your question: this light is not designed, nor intended to be used as key light it attach a softbox to. Even the one Godox makes for it, it also cancels everything this light is meant for: focusing light. If you’re planning to get this light, use it without any diffusion and no softbox.

Just a tip for people, I added the light fine but it would not respond until I closed the app and restarted it. So if you're having an issue, try closing and restarting it.

Hey I got one the the S60s that had a same problem with the front mount. The problem is the bottom supporting hook got welded to the side instead of a second side hook. It's a bit too think because it's meant to be on the bottom.Sent it back for a replacement and the new one did not have that issue at all. slid right in.

That depends on which accessory. If you want the right tool…Get the S60. The FV150 or similar COB lights that do not have a lens, you can kinda have some accessories that “make” it look like a “projection light”, but it won’t come even close to what a light that’s designed for that does. I have the FV150, was the first worldwide to test it on RU-vid before it was even released. Trust me. It won’t do what you want as a projection light. Get the S60 or any other similar light.

My friend, I could hardly find a place to buy that 150mm lens because there are no others in Serbia, how many meters should I separate the s60 head from the wall to be a projection over the whole wall, for example two meters by 2 meters or 3 meters by 3 meters? If you'd be kind enough to tell me roughly, I'd be sure to buy it today. Thanks in advance.

I’m very Sorry but I can’t just go and setup the entire light rig to answer a question. I have demonstrated all lenses in the video. It should be easy to figure it out from a lens to another as far as how far away the light has to be to cover a while wall. If you have a tiny studio or area, the 85 and 100mm I can tell right away that it won’t work. You’ll need the 60mm for sure.

At 20:00 can you elaborate WHICH lever you slide to make the iris smaller? the lever on the Diaphram iris itself is limited in motion and cant slide it more, do you mean another lever on the projector lens? or on the actual S60 light? .I could not find any lever other than the one that controls the iris! Please help on this as the light spot isnt small enough and moving the whole light is not the solution.Thank you

That’s because when you insert the iris accessory it may sometimes not sit in the proper position. Simply grab the iris accessory by the tip, the thing that makes the iris smaller or bigger and gently kind of force a little by rotating to the right until you can’t anymore. Then once you rotate to the other side, the circle will be as tiny as you see here.

Tell me, is the Godox SA-17 Adapter with SA-P projection head suitable for the Amaran 100d?

The SA-17 fits every Bowens mount light I have. The Amaran I don’t have. But I would say, since it’s a Bowens mount, it should. And just adding more, the actual Godox projection attachment fits a Dedolight DP1

You mentioned in this tutorial that with a light marked 60 we will achieve a higher light intensity than with a much stronger light say godox vl 150 or vl 300 did I understand correctly? I really wanted to buy a vl 150 or a vl 300 with all these extensions to get a stronger projection on the wall and I would like it to be a larger projection, and now I'm asking you if the light with the mark 60 will be stronger then I would take it, so you just confirm that I am not wrong in my choice. Not exactly that. What I said was, the S60 at 6 degrees and *without* the projection accessory)will provide a light many times stronger than a 60 watt, or even higher wattage than 60. It’s insane the amount of light concentration at that point. The S60 CANNOT perform or compare in brightness with any 150, much less a 300. However, and again, the S60 at 6 degrees spot can match a 300 light bare bulb depending on the distance its placed.

@@ArtVideoProductions Come on please give me advice what to do, I have a godox vl 300 will be my main light for the interview in the studio the walls are black on all sides of the 5x5m room, I would like to have that projection of light on the wall, but I would like it to be behind the person wall say 2x2m or 3m x 3m which lens should I take 60mm or 85mm or the one of 100mm? And I wanted to ask whether to take say godox vl 150 or s60? the s30 is twice as weak as the s60 right? Here I am confused about the choice of purchase, so now that I have described what I want to get if you would be kind enough to help me what to buy vl 150 or s60 or s30 (if s30 is twice weaker than s60 then it immediately falls away) Thank you very much in advance for answer.

@@SlavkoZec the 60mm is the widest lens for projection. The S30 is way too weak. Get the S60. OR, instead, you can buy the Godox accessory to make a VL150 to FIT the same S30- S60projection accessory but keep in mind that the VL series do not come with the built in lens. If you want to project something in that wall, GET the S60 specifically for that and use the VL-150 for everything else. The 60mm is the widest lens, projecting bigger image. The 100mm is tighter AND stronger beam. You choose.

I have only 1 more question, in our country in Serbia there is no 60mm or 85mm lens, only the one of 100mm or 150 seems to me, what is achieved with that lens? How long does it take for the s60 head to move away from the back wall to get as large a projection on the wall as possible? If I understood if I have a 60mm lens then the head is closer to the background and is over the whole wall, and if the lens is 150mm then it has to be further away? Is a 150mm lens a good or bad choice for me if I want to achieve as large a projection on the wall as possible?

It’s supposed to fall in loose. I assume you’re installing the gel not where the light moots the projection attachment. It’s between the end of the attachment and lens as shown

Here’s a good example when you’d need the scrim on this dimmable light: On macro lenses, shooting a bride’s ring with the light at 1% at 6 degrees and if somehow you need the light closer, at 1% and the light is still too strong. Or any situation the light has to be placed close for whatever reason.

Using it with the light (WITHOUT) the projection attachment, with the focus set to 20 or even all the way back to 6 degree beam, you can probably even do it at 12:00 noon! (Depending on the distance). That beam at 6 degrees in insane for a 60W light. E pra finalizar, meu nome também é Luiz Gustavo (e com Z também) 😀😯 (I’m assuming you speak Brazilian Portuguese)

O meu interesse, e por isso fiz a pergunta, é porque quero uma luz tanto para ensaios internos ( que é a maioria) e com estes recursos de controle de luz e criatividade mas também faço alguns externos e queria usar a mesma luz para iluminar a modelo com algum soft ou octabox, tendo assim uma economia usando uma mesma luz para diversas situações. Apesar de saber que o ideal para externo é ter um Flash. Mas gosto da facilidade da luz contínua.

@@Mbarakaja Essa Luz é desenhada especificamente para spots. Mesmo que é permitido usar soft boxes com a S-60, não é recomendável. A luz não distribui corretamente com soft box. A S-60 é excelente para spots somente. Utilize outra classe de luz para trabalhos que envolvem soft light. A razão que os meus vídeo são em inglês é porque vivo nos Estados Unidos há 35 anos. Nunca voltei ao Brazil desde os anos 90. Se eu visitasse o Brasil, seria um estrangeiro completo.

@@ArtVideoProductions ahhh valeu cara, bom saber disso me ajudou bastante. Então acho q vou investir no s30 que é mais barato pra usar interno e pego um flash AD200 pra externo. Vc faz bem em não voltar por aqui kkkk, aqui a gente tá quase encolhendo ou come ou bota combustível no carro. Comprar equipamentos fotográficos, nem preciso falar, tem q comprar e dividir o valor em 5 anos 😅😂

Yes, ALL accessories for the 30 will fit the 60. I have both. The projection unit also even fits some Dedolight models too.

@@k1k13004 “shaping” the light can mean many things. Barn door, framing shutters, gobos, lens type. I don’t know what you want to do.

Well, I just ordered the 150mm lens and the glass was covered with fungus 😳. Horrible! I sent it back 10 minutes later. Godox needs to fix the packaging, it is too airtight and over the month / years, fungus may develop.

@@Dominik_1978 in this case, could be a Sony, a Canon, any lens. They all made of the same stuff. If this is as bad as you mentioned in mass, it would be all over the net. You probably got the 1 in 1,000,000 or really back luck 🤷‍♂️

@@ArtVideoProductions Maybe. But non of these lenses comes in a nearly airtight case and with rubber caps on both sides. I still think there are more units out there with this problem.

No comment no the Color Gel SA-11C kit. They're 'square' and don't fit the projector...and will burn, depending on which light you're using. It's an awkward projector. Others on the market come with adapters to use your own lenses, and not spend a fortune on their limited (3) choices.
