Step by step procedure for properly updating your Godox X3 transmitter.

Here are the steps:
It is very important to follow these steps in order.
1. Go to godox.com/firm... Download the latest G3 software for your computer (Windows or Mac). The file will be RAR compressed. Extract it using WinZip or a similar utility and save it to a folder on your computer.
2. Go to godox.com/firm... Download the firmware for the X3 version that you own (Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc.). Extract it to a folder.
3. Open the G3 installer that you saved to your computer. If the menus show Chinese characters, click on the dropdown on the lower left and select English. The menus will change to English.
4. Click on Select, and navigate to the folder where you saved the firmware for the X3. It is a .bin file. Select it to load it.
5. Attach the USB-C cord that came with your X3 to a USB port on your computer. Do NOT connect it to your X3 yet.
6. Power on the X3 and wait until it shows the normal screen. Then, connect it to the USB-C cord, ensuring that the cord connection is pushed all the way in. The G3 software should show that a device is connected. You will typically hear a system chime to show that a device has been connected. If the software does not show a device is connected, you may need to choose a different USB port, or possibly restart your computer to clear that port so it will recognize that a device has been connected.
7. Pull down from the top of the screen on your X3 and tap on Setting.
8. Scroll down to Device Info. Tap on that.
9. Tap on Update.
10. Go back to your G3 software and click on update. Give it a few seconds, and then a green progress bar will start to move across the bottom. Wait until it say it has completed the update.
11. Detach the X3 from the USB cord.
12. Power it on. It should show the updated firmware version in the Setting screen.
