When I was in grade school I had a Godzilla 1998 bookbag with a rubber Godzilla head coming out of the front of the bag and it wasn't easy sitting comfortably in the seats.
2:53 If it’s like most other motorized lollipop toy things on the market, the lollipop would spin when you pressed the button… which has implications all its own 😅
The candy tongue is the most sus Godzilla merchandise I’ve ever seen. I never thought I would find something more sus than then the bathroom merchandise.
I'm surprised I don't find many of these at antique shops The most Godzilla stuff I found at antique stores were some Godzilla knock offs,a book,a Japanese destroyah in package and a trendmaster Godzilla.
I found one of the lunch boxes when I stopped in my local comic book shop a few years ago. Still had the thermos with which was a bit surprising. Absolutely had to snatch it up
Born in 2002, missed some great hype! As a kid, my dad had gotten me the glow in the dark action wall decoration, and he always wanted to put it up in my room but I would actually use the little army men buildings and the Godzilla to play my own games, it was kind of like my first Godzilla action figure if you will and the army man holding the bazooka, he was shorter than the rest and as a kid I was like oh he's the good guy he's the friend of Godzilla and all the other military dudes and the planes were just evil I would literally play off the floor with these to the dudes and I genuinely had so much love, and luckily it never got hung up :p
I had the Jar Jar candy as a kid and when my mother purchased that she just thought it was a toy. When I started eating it, she knocked it out of my hand, and I didn’t understand why.
I had the Godzilla cup as a kid. The tag called it the "Gruesome Gulper". The amount of merch that came out for G98 was bloody crazy. Too bad Godzilla 2014 didn't quite get the same treatment.
One of my favorite things about this channel is seeing stuff from my grade school years come up and having it unlock buried memories of the various Knick knacks and goodies. I had all of those stampers and a few of the erasers.
I should get one of the stamps and use it to mark my students’ homework as complete. This reminds me of back when I was determined to write a book review of all the book adaptations of Godzilla 98 for TK. I think the only one I missed was the audio book version, unless you count coloring books… and sticker books :) Thank you for another great video!
Crazy to think that, for a Godzilla movie that mostly every Godzilla fan didn't enjoy, there were tons of merch about it. And then with Godzilla 2014, a new Godzilla that was extremely well received by both fans and new public, there wasn't really that much merch.
I had boots for the snow, and a sweater all from the 98' movie.. might've had a lunch box. No thermos though, speaking of I had a "Small Soldier" thermos. I believe i had a 98' toy set with a building and a few army vehicles.
It’s sad that the crappy 1998 American Godzilla movie had better marketing in America than both the MonsterVerse Godzilla and ALL of the Toho Godzilla’s combined! Seriously, I wish the Toho Godzilla franchise had THIS much licensed marketing in America. 😭
Oh man. I remember those Not Pez dispensers, especially the FLIX ones. They started out with large gumballs and dispensers in big blister pack, but after a while they were made smaller, came loose but wrapped around with plastic, and the gumballs were soon replaced by those awful generic "Tart n' Tangy" things. They even had push pop knockoffs with the same toppers on them. I did have a Ninja Turtle of the Gumball dispenser variety, but the revived Push Pop/smaller candies varieties were a lot easier to find. I can't remember all the licenses they had for the smaller ones, but I did get an Inspector Gadget one (that thankfully looked like the cartoon, even though it was released for the movie), the first Raimi Spider-Man movie, and Casper, but based on the original comic character stock art. As for those kinds of mugs, those things were everywhere back in the mid-90's. Applause made a TON of them with licenses ranging from Looney Tunes, Muppets, Star Wars, even Animaniacs. Have a bunch of them in the cellar somewhere.
When I was a kid my mom bought me a big godzila plushy it was like a plush that under it is thing and you open it and there a thing you press of it put it back presss on godzila boom shakes
fun fact the godzilla fishing pole was my first fishing rod, never caught a fish, my dad told ppl it was becuz of my awesome fishing rod scaring the fish away to make me feel better.
MIB, i have a small question/request: Can you review a very obscure Godzilla game developed by SystemSoft for PC-9800? if you could find it at Buyee. Also, thanks for collectors tip from your "Godzilla Memes Explained" video! I already ordered a rare LitGodzi cup where Godzilla and Littlegodzilla are playing a golf!
@@MonsterIslandBuddies well, i founded the gameplay of Godzilla by SystemSoft! Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2EU5X8TJnHg.html This is turn-based strategy game which combines elements from Godzilla 2: War of the Monsters and Super Godzilla. Like War of the Monsters, it has different scenarios to choose from. For example in this gameplay video its Mothra vs Godzilla. And battle segments are similar to those from Super Godzilla.
Funnily enough I own all the erasers which use the same mold as the stamps. I got them off of eBay and they are in great condition, it's wild to know they shared molds with stamps.
6:54 HEY I HAD THAT!!! my uncle brought it from california to my small town in mexico, had it until the lower jaw broke when my dad stepped on it. I think the weirdest thing I've seen with 98 godzilla's name on it would be this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xT8-zKopIGM.html&ab_channel=ricrdzalva godzilla chocolate cupcakes and lemon flavor icing and filling, I remember buying a buch of these back in the day, I always found it weird the sprinkles weren't godzilla shaped but just random dinosaur shaped, guess they repurposed sprinkles and just slapped the name godzilla in it.
I frankly didn’t have any of this stuff, too young. But I have to say if someone got me that key chain or that coffee mug I would make them automatically my best friend!
I also have a lot of nostalgia for 98 Godzilla merch. I loved all this cheap stuff as a kid. I'd have loved that soft lunch box! Maybe I'll get one now. 🤔
