Godzilla - All Military Marches 

I'm gonna be honest, the JSDF have some serious balls for even trying to take down Godzilla in the first place and for that reason I respect them.

0:37 is my favorite military march.

2:31 is one of my favorites

I recently unlocked the F-86F Sabre for the Japan tree in War Thunder - as it's the fighter jet which fought Godzilla the most in the Showa era, I blasted these marches through my headphones while playing, and I had tons of fun :)

I just realized. The first JSDF March is called“Furigētomāchi”. Transliterated meaning "Frigate march" (no official title given)-as in the ship class. Though Japan doesn't have any frigate classifications, so they might be referring to destroyers (given the context; it's quite ironic and fitting) A Real Imperial Japanese March Composed by Akira Ifubuke during World War 2. It was intended for War Time Military March for the IJN. but it was never used and left abandoned in his desk. Until 1954 when he decided to use the nearly abandoned score as a movie soundtrack for 1954 Godzilla.

The Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II military theme might just be the most underrated track in the whole series.

Update Edit: Fun fact: the "Godzilla" theme we all know and love wasn't originally his own. Back in the 1954 Gojira, the music piece played three times. It first is heard in the opening titles of the film. It appears two more times within the film during the scenes the army fights Godzilla. In the original film score it was named "Pursue Godzilla" stated to be the main title but the original film score had it named "pursue Godzilla". "Godzilla comes ashore" and "Godzilla's fury" were the slow building dread filled cues of music played during two of his rampage scenes. These were meant to be the score for Godzilla. As for Godzilla's own theme, this was the main score played for when Godzilla would appear in the shoes era with a high temp version of "Godzilla's fury" attacked to it. You can hear this in the opening titles of Godzilla Final wars before the Arctic scene begins though this was heard first in the showa king kong vs Godzilla film. By the time the film Terror of Mechagodzilla arrived, it was already understood that the 1954 opening titles music was associated with the monster so within that film what we know as Godzilla's theme because officially his own during his more heroic shift and played for him several times throughout the series from the end of the showa, most of the heisei, and millennium, and few times further on. "Godzilla's fury" from 1954 and "Godzilla comes ashore" was altered with many variations in the showa era as already stated and also appeared in the heisei movies along side the millennium, changing in tempo over the years film to film. As for the army theme, the music the 1954 film during the scenes where bombs are dropped in the sea to kill Godzilla as well as the scene where the ferry takes off were made as such. Throughout the remainder of the series it would come to be known currently as the "Army March"

I loved the lines of toy tanks rolling along to get in attack formation as these marches played!

I’ve always been of the opinion that if the Japanese Self-Defense Force (JSDF) were to use some or all of these marches as actual songs they play or use as marches, no one would be complaining. They may as well be the music most associated with them to begin with because man, they are good.

In my head I’ve always thought of it as the 54 and Monster Zero version being the armies theme as they get ready while the 84 theme was the people’s point of the view of the military getting ready for action.

Destroy All Monsters sounds great but the Invasion of Astro Monster version is my favourite because it described how the Xliens were being defeated.

I'm a massive fan of the SDF prepares for Attack theme, because it gives this feeling, at least in parts, that this is Humanities best and last shot, Our backs are being put against the wall by Aliens and Monsters alike, and it falls to these brave men amd women to dig deep and fight back. That last part is usually the objective in all the military defenses, but when its EVERY MONSTER, its a little more critical

It would be awesome if McCreary does a version of the Military March for Kong vs Godzilla, I was a little sad we didnt had a revision of it in King of the Monsters.

The theme of "Invasion of Astro-Monster" is the best.

The Japanese Army March is probably my favorite piece of recurring music in the series. It may not be as iconic as Godzilla's theme is, but it does a fantastic job of establishing the feeling of bravely fighting as hard as you can against all odds.

The invasion of the astro-monster theme is the best one and probably the most known but the original is good as well considering they are the same just slown down and one has a sound effect instead of an instrument

If they keep redoing the classic music in the new movies, I want them to do a classic military march next. Maybe something less silly sounding from the Heisei or Millenium Eras. Godzilla Against the Self-Defense Forces and G-Force March would be good. But then again, Destroy All Monsters' march would fun to hear too
