Gamera joins the battle for season 28 of Godzilla Battle Line! I still can't believe this collab actually happened. We've been waiting for a Godzilla and Gamera crossover literally forever and it's finally here!…But only on this random ass mobile game nobody really cares about. Not exactly the kaiju blockbuster of the century we all wanted, but hey we'll take it.
First off, yes this video took me over 4 months to make. That's WAY longer than any other vid I've made. And it's almost entirely due to burnout. I started this video the day after uploading my G2K & Megalon vid, giving me no time to rest, then Gamera dropped so I HAD to make this one super epic. But by the halfway mark I just completely ran out of gas. These videos are not easy to make. Between the funnies I gotta come up with during battles, and the big cutscenes that take a lot of planning. I work hours on end, pulling all nighters editing these videos by myself. And it has indeed begun to take its toll on my mental health. Once I started having nightmares about my video getting corrupted and losing all my progress, I knew there was a problem. Speaking of, a lot of the stress actually came from the video editing app I use, CapCut, which was not cooperating at all. It was constantly crashing, lagging, and slowing my progress. But after pushing through it finally got done. To say this video was a struggle would be an understatement. I'm seriously thankful for those of you that patiently waited and didn't breathe down my neck about how long it was taking. There's a special gift at the end of this video for those who left me some heartwarming comments during the wait too.
With that being said, I will be going on a long break from the edited videos. They will return when I feel like making more.Thank you all for understanding.
Gamera is a 5 cost ground unit who moves slowly and slashes enemies with his claws. Against fliers he shoots fireballs that have knockback and increased damage. His search range is huge, similar to Desg and 08, and once Gam locks onto an enemy, he will stay locked on until he or the enemy dies. But because of this, he can be easily distracted. The knockback destroys short range fliers like Mega and M92, but it's very counterintuitive against long range ones like M19. Another bad matchup is Leo because the knockback may cause Leo to ram into him multiple times.
Gamera leader is great. He's basically a better Ultima, having absurd range but with an actually useful ability- he shoots 3 fireballs that knock enemies away and reduces flier’s defense making them take more damage. Its a nice “get off me” tool, and it really saved my ass in the match I used it. Gam lead has slow attack speed, and he's single target so he'll still get jammed if there's several units attacking him. It should also be noted that the regular fireballs do not have knockback as a lead.
Gyaos is a 4 star swarm unit. They're like a hybrid of Dorats and Dlarvas but on crack. Each time you deploy them, they increase in size and number. Eventually you'll be able to send a huge flock of em for just 3 cost (4 in video) and they'll melt through anything without aoe in their path. They have a slow attack speed individually, so it's crucial to get those bigger numbers so they can actually deal damage. Overall the Gyaos are pretty great. And they are kinda cracked paired with Rainbow Mothra nowadays.
This is the first time I use Godzilla Earth, who got a LUDICROUS buff this season, gaining a larger search range and a fat stat boost. I like when units get big buffs, but my main issue with GE is not how broken he is, its just that there is a fuckton of jank when units approach him. You can see this jank in action when my Bio got stuck at 7:15. And it was caused by Gearth's fat ass hitbox messing up Bio's pathfinding. That shit almost costed me the game. Gigan 04 specifically has trouble hitting GE and will often start walking into him instead of attacking. I swear this isnt a skill issue. I know the counterplay to GE, but I cant control if my units have a fucking seizure trying to hit him. It happens all the time. The Shinden helps against GE a lot, but the jank is still there and needs to be fixed.
