yup, it looked so natural and nightmarish at the same time. The Art/animation of Godzilla makes him look like a true monster. This is how godzilla movies should be like.@@stephanandersen8439
In meiner Kindheit wusste ich nicht, was "Japan" ist. Aber ich hatte von einem gewissen Godzilla gehört. Der Nachbarsjunge hatte mir davon erzählt. 😳 😄
Just watched this in the theater yesterday and it was amazing. My girlfriend doesn't like monster movies, but she cried during it. That says a lot! The story and characters were complex, and well written. Godzilla was terrifying and felt real, as opposed to the video game cgi coming out of Hollywood.
"aS oPpOsEd To ThE vIdEo GaMe CgI cOmInG oUt Of HoLlYwOoD" Are you lifeless grifters incapable of praising something without bringing something else down? Your comment was perfectly fine until that last sentence, but you had to undermine yourself, like a moron. Let me guess, you also think Minus One was a perfect apolitical movie with no "wOkE mEsSaGe"?
I love how even people who aren’t into Godzilla take this film seriously, My mom isn’t into monster movies either but Minus One left quite an impact on her, she genuinely enjoyed it, it is honestly my favorite Godzilla movie ever, it’s the complete opposite of the previous Godzilla films we’ve gotten, some of it sort of reminded me of Shin Godzilla but it felt much more like the original 1954 film, This Godzilla was even badder and meaner than the first one, his menacing and vengeful personality and atomic breath was very reminiscent to the GMK Godzilla along with the scene at the very end, The design is honestly my favorite of the new Reiwa era, he looks very much like the 1993 RadoGoji but with a modernized/scary look. The CGI was excellent, the close up of Godzilla’s snout while he was swimming with the mine in his mouth was the most realistic shot in the film, it looked so practical like he was actually a real creature, it doesn’t make sense that this movie has a much cheaper budged than Hollywood’s shit, I dislike most of Hollywood’s CGI, even some video games have better visuals. Hollywood needs to learn a thing or two from Toho.
@@Kaijusaur24 "Hollywood needs to learn a thing or two from Toho" No, actually, I think Hollywood already starves, overworks, underpays, mistreats and abuses their VFX workers enough.
The cgi of the 2014 Godzilla was hella realistic & dope af! Same goes for the 2nd movie King of Monsters, and both movies was hella dope! King of Monsters was just epic with all of the monsters fighting each other & vs us humans & vs Godzilla. That movie was badass bro. Minus One was 100% a diff type of Godzilla movie with a much more serious tone & postwar Japan etc. It was a unique & diff take on Godzilla & I must say I was super impressed by the mobie director! With a 15 mil budget & it came out lookin that freaking good??? Just wow my friend wow 😲😲😲💯💯💯👍👍👍@@Kaijusaur24
This film was beautiful and then they released it in black-and-white, and it was truly beyond extraordinary. The black and white version sent chills down my spine in a different way I’d ever experienced.
Ryunosuke Kamiki, who played the main character, played the role of ``Boh'' in ``Spirited Away'' at the age of 8, ``Markl'' in ``Howl's Moving Castle'' at the age of 11, and ``Your Name'' at the age of 21. He played "Tachibana". He has appeared in five of the top 10 Japanese films of all time.
He's so attractive man. He doesn't behave like a star. He behave as just a human. He's pure, charming, humility, and sicerity. I'm proud of him as Japanese.
3:18 Ryunosuke Kamiki played the role of Sojiro in the live-action movie ``Rurouni Kenshin.'' Anime movie “Your Name.” ”, he is in charge of the voice of Taki.
I saw it today and it was amazing! 70 year anniversary from Toho. This Japanese version has some heart wrenching moments. I look forward to seeing the next Godzilla and Kong movie as well. And hopefully find a way to watch the Monarch series. Yep I’m a Godzilla freak.
Just saw it again in the theater today...and yep, completely agree--it was amazing (especially the second time around!). With this, the upcoming GxK film, and Monarch--which I'm loving every minute of--it is a great time to be a Godzilla fan. We are eating good!
Needless to say, as the universe knows it! Japan created Godzilla. Godzilla created worldwide fans. Japan, ruined after WW II, destroyed Godzilla. Who'd inherit the earth?
I saw this movie today and the word epic is such an understatement. This movie was AMAZING. Honestly, after seeing this movie, there is no way that I can take Godzilla x Kong : The New Empire seriously. Minus One did Godzilla right
The MonsterVerse is giving Showa Era Godzilla fans Showa Era movies. I can't complain...lol Come TOHO's Minus One followup...they'll need to change the formula...
Well, because it was still brand new and in japanese theatres around the time you made this comment which seems to be about 4 months ago. Duuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrhhhhhh
I love how Godzilla Minus One atomic breath is TRULY DEADLY. Unlike Godzilla on Monsterverse, it wasn't very deadly, except it was shot on their mouth.
This is what Godzilla is. At least it is dozens of times more interesting than the misguided film that defends nuclear weapons and ignores Japan's intentions.
Japan themselves have been portraying godzilla as a hero though. Infact, out of like 30 godzilla films from japan, only 3 to 4 portray him as a villain. He is a hero in all the rest
My point is not whether Godzilla is a hero or not, but rather that I cannot stand the fact that the Japanese are making Godzilla movies based on the idea that nuclear weapons are bad, and Americans are misinterpreting that idea and using Godzilla movies to make movies that make nuclear weapons look great!
I loved this movie, and love all the Oscar noms, but I hope all that doesn't make people look down on or hate on Legendary Monsterverse, just because there different tones doesn't make one better or worse than the other, I really hope Godzilla X Kong makes a ton of money, we need more Monsterverse movies, also hoping multiple sequels come for Minus One, they both deserve massive success...long live Godzilla and whatever universe he's in!!!! ❤️💪🎇
What makes this movie special is that it was made just like the original Godzilla movies, a strong script and passion for making a masterpiece just with modern effects and cinematography.
I just watched this yesterday and is my second favorite Godzilla movie since the original. I even loved the original score from the final battle scene.
The theatres in Canada just recently put up a page for it on their websites ( took them long enough) , but there wasn’t any mention of any theatre in Ottawa , Tickets still haven’t went up for sale for some reason , there isn’t a-lot of time left , it’s starting to get late !
This movie was very refreshing, it's nice to see godzilla being the villain again, I don't even care if it's in Japanese when I saw it. It was fantastic
"Don't call it a comeback, I been here for years! rockin' my peers, puttin' suckers in fear Makin' the tears rain down like a monsoon." .....awesome movie.
I think it’s very interesting how Minus One got popular. Most movies today get popular because of hype and mass marketing. But Minus One got popular in a more retro (and better) way. Its success was mainly due to word of mouth and how people told other people about just how amazing it is. Movies getting success and becoming popular in this fashion isn't as common as it was in the 20th century and stuff. So it's cool how this movie's popularity was spread in this fashion :)
Congratulations, Japan! Much better than the Hollyblubb movies! Crass and really heart wrenching, I had fear moments, puh! You have taken the crown back...
Easily the best Gojira movie period!! One of the best movies of 2023. This movie has all the pieces. I would never imagine that I would be shedding tears during a Gojira movie. Awesome. I am / was totally invested in the story, actors, and Godzilla. When I think about the movie in retrospect - it gives me chill bumps. 5 Stars and 3 Snaps in the Z - formation. Nuff said!
