How is it as a daily driver? With the 4.30 and dually factor? I pull skid steer & excavator about 50-80 days / year, and the rest of the time it's just a daily driver. I'm driving a diesel now but looking to get a new truck for tax write off next week.
It was a great dd! Very smooth. Easy to drive. 4.30s down low and 3 ODs up top lol It towed 4-6 days a week. 15k with easy. It’s just a large truck. Several feet longer than my 90s crew longs. Longer than the 99-16 crew longs. But since it has 20 cameras, it’s easy to maneuver. I put it everywhere I wanted. Just took a few extra turns.
@gregjames5070 how is that possible? Do you have stock size tires? The 4.30 pulls better from zero to 25mph I would assume. More low end torque and the 3.73 is better at cruising speeds? I'm looking to pull an 11,000 pound skid steer on a 5,000 pound trailer. So, 16,000 pounds about 50 to 80 times per year. The rest of the time I just drive around to job sites with a few tools in the back. I have a 2007 Duramax for now, and it pulls great. I am not impressed with the brakes though. It stops ok, not great.
@@BradCzak That was a question I had. I'm trying to buy a truck before Dec 31st so I have a tax write off for my hardsacpe / grading business. Dually with 4.30 gears seems like a hard truck to park in parking garages or downtown. Or drive thrus. For now I literally drive 3 different trucks, depending on what I'm doing day to day. But it would be nice to consolidate and have something like a SRW F350 that can be daily driver but still tow an Excavator or skid steer, or dump trailer 4-8x / month or so. What do you think about the 3.73 gearing with a single rear axle? The 4.3 rear axle is def hard to find in a regular truck. Seems like they are more in the cab and chassis options. I mean, a new Ford Super duty is hard to find in the spec you want in general right now. They just aren't building them fast enough.
