Godzilla x Kong the new empire is now officially on the way to dethrone kong skull island to become the Highest Grossing Monsterverse movie of all time . It is also the second most commercially successful movie of the year . As a result of this overwhelming success , Legendary studios has now officially greenlit a sequel for Godzilla x Kong . The studio has also locked in a writer to write the script for Godzilla x Kong 3 . As a matter of fact , Adam wingard , the director of Godzilla x Kong and Godzilla vs Kong , who is most likely also going to work on the sequel , has teased us some very interesting stuff regarding the next Monsterverse movie . You say Destroyah yet you keep showing Space Godzilla. They are not the same. Edit: Destroyah should be the final big bad to end the Monster-verse movies considering he is, as you said, the most powerful Kaiju Godzilla has faced. I feel continuing the monster-verse after Destroyah would just go downhill. Maybe some shows that take place before or during the monsterverse to expand the lore might work but Destroyah is a perfect way to end it. The only other big bad would be MechaGhidorah but we kinda got that with him basically being resurrected in MechaGodzilla and I feel Space Godzilla wouldn’t work out. It won’t happen but what if they brought MechaGhidorah as an ally instead of an enemy? In one of the older films I think Ghidorah was portrayed as a guardian along with Mothra to face Godzilla. So what if Ghidorah was once again resurrected through MechaGhidorah only to team up with Godzilla to face a greater threat as a reference to the older movie?

so spacegodzilla just doesn't exist? Space g is very much stronger than dest, hell the dest did was get absolutely bullied by burning godzilla, hes not the strongest godzilla villain. Spacegodzilla would be a better final villain than dest tbh, spacegodzilla is stronger and feels more menacing

@@roddy4274Im not saying Space Godzilla is a terrible character. It’s more i don’t have faith they will do him justice. Edit: got bullied? Dude Destroyah was throwing Godzilla around like a rag doll. And it’s even states that he was made from the only weapon that killed Godzilla and was able to face him at his peak. If you watched the movie Godzilla only injured him when he started to have a meltdown and even then Destroyah was still standing. The military took him out. Look upped Is Destroyah the strongest Kaiju: “Destoroyah is considered to be one of the most powerful creatures that Godzilla has ever faced and even defeated him when he is at the peak of his power. When one thinks about it, Godzilla never actually defeated Destoroyah.” Godzilla defeated Space Godzilla but not Destroyah

@@roddy4274 In all honesty we could argue who’s stronger all day. You think it’s SG, I think it’s Dest. But we both can agree that both are powerful beings able to take Godzilla one on one and win. Personally I would like to see SG in the monster verse. I never really like his design with the massive crystals in his shoulders but I think he would be a great addition to the movies. But I don’t know if they will do him justice. Hell I think they’ll mess up with Destroyah. Movies like these have a trend where they start really great then in like the final movies they flop. Both monsters are big deals in the Godzilla universe much like Ghidorah and MechaGodzilla and Legendary did great with those two characters but I can’t help but feel they’ll screw up with SG and Dest.

Normally I'd agree, but Bagan was meant to be like an old god Cthulu dude facing Mothra, correct? While we see Destoroyah is clear based on the oxygen destroyer which has been used in the Monsterverse. Although Bagan would be plausible, we'd probably have seen him in either KotM or even GxK. Just my 2 cents.

I rather see Gigan in the next film because the fact that he's been Godzillas rival in alot of movies next to King Ghidorah. Biolante should face Kong and his army should fight in Hollow Earth.

I agree. Gigan is an underrated kaiju. He's one of Godzilla's greatest rivals, but I don't see him brought much. He's second only to Ghidora in terms of reoccurring antagonistic monsters that Godzilla fights. I just hope that the Monsterverse shows Gigan some love, because, in my opinion, it would be a missed opportunity to not include him in the Monterverse.

Destroyah would be too much. It’ll feel a little early for its appearance. Space Godzilla or biollante would be perfect step in that case. Or see another mothra appearance or solo movie where we see battra. I think orga would be another good candidate. Finally have the aliens make their appearance.

This amalgamation of Godzilla and King Ghidorah is EXACTLY what I had in mind, which would also make this version of Destroyah similar to Bagan. This also paralells James Camerons 'Avatar' in the sense that it essentially has an unkillable villain who can just keep coming back to haunt our heroes forever, which is the case with Miles Quaritch. Even if they have now defeated him twice, this time he will be back EVEN stronger. If they kill Quaritch in the next movie, he will just come back as another avatar clone. The whole prospect of this is absolutely terrifying.

I would not count on Destroyer being a villain at any point in the Monsterverse. Beyond the fact that Wingard didn't actually say he was using Destroyer, there's also the matter of getting Legendary to acquire the rights, which would be a monumental task. The new heads at Legendary that took over after Tull left do not share Tull's enthusiasm for Toho kaiju films, and it is said that they are highly reluctant to buy the rights to more Toho monsters besides Godzilla, especially after G: KotM underperformed. Wingard had to jump through a lot of hoops just to push them to renew the rights for Mothra for GxK (and it came so close to *not* happening that they filmed a cut of the movie with a replacement monster for her).

Kong skull Island is way better than Godzilla x Kong New Empire.. i literally didn't like the Godzilla x Kong New Empire honestly speaking it wasnt a mess of a movie. Adam wingard has once again gained upper hand in showing king kong as a weak Titan and his favourite Godzilla always stays the alpha Titan well king kong is well built and capable of lifting Godzilla and throwing him but Adam wingard will not do it as it's a shame to his favourite Godzilla.

@@roc50140 no he didn’t. He just knocked him down. Godzilla literally got up 2 seconds later. The movie even had to tell the audience that it was a win for Kong just to not upset the fans. Edit: and in this last movie, he cheated. He had a power glove provided by the humans. He’s always getting help from the humans. Which proves that Kong doesn’t stand a chance against Godzilla
