If the evil Godzilla theory manifests into the Monsterverse, then Oppenheimer's ominous " I"ve become death, the destroyer of worlds" wouldn't just frame Godzilla as an allegory of nuclear war but fit to Godzilla's character development. An once protector who served balance to the world transformed into its ultimate demise.

I reread the _Godzilla vs. Kong_ novelization and Jia refers to Godzilla as Zo-Zla-Halawa, with Ilene Andrews noting that the version of the myth that Jia relayed is a partial, flawed account (though she doesn’t go into more detail) and speculates that the myth relates to an ancient war between Kong’s species and Godzilla’s-with Godzilla’s species being vilified because the myth is from the Iwi perspective and the Iwi worship Kong’s species - and she goes out of her way to show Jia that Godzilla was, like the Kongs, once worshipped as a benevolent guardian deity by a different ancient civilization. Though Toho has apparently since mandated that Godzilla isn’t a member of a species but a unique being.

So Space Godzilla’s design was based off of Super Godzilla from the SNES game called Super Godzilla where Godzilla transforms into his super form to fight Bagan. So maybe we’ll get Bagan in the Monsterverse hopefully.

In my mind, the "ate a star" line fits better with absorbing too much solar wind energy, than a special Hollow Earth source. I mean the Sun is a star after all...The designer of Evolved Godzilla stated Godzilla's metamorphosis was on the mid stage of his evolution in the film. Why Godzilla didn't complete his evolution? Did he know from past experience that too much from that energy could affect his conscience?

I believe she mistook what she read from the hieroglyphics/the Goji who ate the star for the current Godzilla. My theory: There is another Goji hidden deeper within the HE, and this is the Goji who ate the star becoming Space Godzilla. He couldn't maintain that level of radiation after consuming it and went as close as possible to the core/ridiculously deep into the HE. Maybe that's why the Scar King had the Kongs doing excavation work? He was searching for an entrance or something related to the Space Godzilla and figured he could control it, like Shimu. What she read could be easily ret-conned as a mistake, and she just thought it was referencing the current Godzilla, but in fact, she was wrong, and there is another Goji, aka Space Godzilla. This has always been my theory when it comes to Space Godzilla in the monsterverse. A lot of the lore kinda supports it, too Just my $0.02

Probably a godzilla who ate one of the gravity crystals and went full hollow energy crystal mode, it also alligns with space godzilla gravity powers, levitate power, and its design with crystals on its back

It seems that the only thing the theory sort of forgot to take into account is that the Iwi are "biased" to tell the story of the Great Titan War as we can recall from the Kong comics and novelization of GvK. The Iwi are actually the last of the "losing side" of the Great Titan War and of Humanity itself, since stories say "some humans tried to control the titans" in a means of enslaving. The Kong species sided with mankind, enraging Godzilla and setting the path to War between the two species and to the massive dark ages that came in-between the civilizations of the past and our "second awakening" around 5000 years ago. We are kind of "Humans of the second wave" in the Monsterverse timeline and we've much more adapted (and even "bowed") to the natural order as in the past; to which the Iwi are the last descendants of. This means that it's true, Godzilla was way more violent. Yes, the once amiable alpha titan went rogue and yes, he might have been the villain. Thing is: he's only the villain and only "went wicked" to the eyes of those who were massacred by him, the Titanus kong and the Humans who tried to enslave and harvest Titan power; the "victims" that not necessarily mean the whole of humanity, as our species didn't went extinct at the time. If you take Godzilla and make him go through a Crusade of extermination against the Kong, he is indeed way more violent than "current-day" Godzilla and if he actually wiped out a Titan species that supported the humans that turned against the natural order, then yes, he'll look "wicked" and "mad", but as we understand now, Godzilla wasn't wrong in doing so, nor was he particularly malicious towards mankind, so it doesn't sound exactly right to take the Iwi accounts face-value, as they once sided with the Kong and our warmongering ancestors, the ones whom Godzilla went out of his tracks to subdue. So i wouldn't say the mad Gojira and Godzilla are the same being, pretty much keeping a place for Spacegodzilla to come into the Monsterverse

Wasn’t there another Godzilla in the first movie which was called “Dagon”? Dagon was much older and was used as an incubator for the mutos. Plus muto prime wanted to eradicate the Gojiras to repopulate since I think it was stated that the mutos were natural enemies of the gojiras

Theres also the fight between Godzilla, Mothra and Shimo against King Ghidorah when he first arrived. I really and truly hope the next movie is a prequel and we get the see all of these events. I dont want them to rush into the Monsterverse. This way to get to see a proper, uninterrupted fighting sequence if King Ghidorah, and potentially a proper air fighting sequence between Mothra and Rodan, which if I remember was also present.

The Zo-Zla-Halawa, is not a singular Titan... Zo-Zla-Halawa is a forbidden form, Godzilla's greatest shame, that is waiting to be reattained by either him or possibly another surviving Gojira who seeks power... This is honestly equally interesting as an ancient Gojira who gained an OP unnatural form who's in exile waiting to take revenge.

Godzilla taking a page from Nemesis Prime's playbook is interesting because it'll be shocking to see Godzilla become Space Godzilla. But I doubt it because it's impossible.

i really hope we get at least 1 new Godzilla movie vs Space godzilla (maybe it can be that "Spacegodzilla" is a direct alpha predecessor to Goji) this could set up a Past vs Present and end with the new hope for the future when we find a Goji Egg still dormant. + 1 new GxK movie that has Biollante and destroyah where both kong and Goji 'retire' so suko and Goji's 'son' could take over closing the book on the present MV timeline. After the movies are done then it could be focused on a dedicated series that takes place in Ancient Earth: Dawn of the Titans. No humans just Titans following the cycle of life on the surface and deep in hollow earth. Could you imagine a Planet Earth series but it's all titans instead? it could be a narrator from like the far future where they have more info on everything.

I want to believe that Godzilla will become super Godzilla, his evolved form is already showing signs and certain growths like his tail. But the wings would be interesting. I am also hoping this is how they include bagan who has an ancient past in one of his origins , especially the one from the super Nintendo game

Every planet with life in the Monsterverse has titans, so maybe Ghidorah and Space Godzilla were exiled from their home planet and arrived here on Earth.

Something that would have been really cool to see in the movie would be a flashback sequence like the one we see in "Justice League" with Darkseid trying to conquer earth. But have this sequence instead. The more I find out, the more I doubt we will ever get to see the big screen version of any more Toho monsters. Legendary want to create their own Kaiju, but since Shimo didn't even turn out to be a true villain, just misunderstood, they will really have to get creative for the next movie.

I think that farther up Godzilla's family tree, one of his ancestors could have literally ate a star and gave him what we know as "Atomic Breath", and Godzilla could have actually had a sibling who went a little too crazy on the radiation, and Mothra DNA could have been mixed in with Godzilla's sibling's DNA. Resulting in; wings, crystals, and super atomic breath. But later on, he was probably banished into a deeper part of Hollow Earth (Deeper than where Skar King lived). So he's just waiting to be left out to release chaos on the world.

I'm most likely wrong, but here is my two cents. Space Godzilla, the one that ate a star, is our Godzilla's older brother.

Godzilla shares some traits with ancient Gojira like Zo Zla Halawa, he is not directly identified as her. They are part of the same lineage or species, with Godzilla being a more recent and evolved version.

We know that Some Gojira survived into the recent past, as Dagon was still alive long enough to be recorded by the Japanese and Babylonians. Dagon died around the 11th century BC, so about 3,000 years before the current year. The last Ice age was roughly 120,000-11,500 years ago. So if Godzilla's fight with Shimo was during the previous Ice age, we can assume one of two things. Either 1. Godzilla still had a pack of Godzillas to help him fight Shimo, or at the very least, other titans, which seems likely. Or option 2. the space godzilla phenomena happened much more recently than previously thought, but this theory has a problem, the War between the Godzillas and the Apes had to have happened prior to the the death of Dagon. If Godzilla morphed into space Godzilla some time time recently, we know that he could not have been the one to kill the other Zillas, as Dagon and presumably other individuals survived until the recent past. We know Ghidorah arrived around the same time as "early Humans" Modern humans first evolved around 160,000 years ago. Godzilla was the one to defeat Ghidorah, who only succeeded when Shimo assisted him, which tells us how recently Ghidorah was active prior to KoTM. Which gives us more details around when Shimo was defeated. and when the kong war occurred as it's known that Godzilla's fight with Ghidorah only happened AFTER the Kong war. So, based on the approximate time periods and the details involved we can create a rough timeline for events: Approx. 160,000 Years ago: Ghidorah arrives and presumably enters Hibernation Approx 120,000: Shimo Initiates Ice age 11,5000-10,000 years ago: Godzilla defeats Shimo, presumably with the help of his pack, ending the Ice age 8,000 Years ago: Iwi Enter the Hollow earth and begin building their civilization Approx. 7,0000 Years ago: Kong war initiated, Space Godzilla appears, Skar king is defeated, Apes are sealed within hollow earth 5,500 years ago: "Young" Godzilla is driven from his lair on skull island, presumably by one of the early Kong inhabitants 3,000 Years ago: Dagon is killed by MUTO Prime, MUTO war results in near-eradication of Titans on the surface Less than 3,000 years ago: Ghidorah awakens, is defeated by Godzilla and Shimo -Titans enter Hibernation at unknown time, Likely around 500 BC, giving enough time for them to fade into myth 1933: Kong is born, Surface Kong Tribe wiped out 1945: First signs of Titans in the modern era are documented, not long after Hiroshima 1954: Bikini atoll detonation

When you really think about it, Spacegodzilla’s tail and Godzilla’s Thagomizer tail don’t look too different, and it was said that Godzilla isn’t done evolving

Oh, I think your theory is a good one, actually it would make a great tie in to the lore and continuity of the stories. I mean it makes sense that Godzilla was the single most powerful Titan millions of years ago but he got mad and became a force of destruction. Battling all the ancient Titans like Ghidora and the Skar King clans in hollow Earth made him collect lots of energy and ultimately the “star” that gave him so much power. I reckon he was so powerful that he commanded Shimu to freeze Ghidora on the spot that resulted to the Ice Age. Bit the power really consumed his sanity and became destructive force and then maybe he did something back then that made him snap out of his madness and go back to normal like killing Mothra accidentally or his whole clan so he decided to drain all his mad energy underneath the earth thus creating the energy that powers Hollow Earth. And that’s why he was weaker when he debuted in Godzilla 2014 but now he’s learned to control his ways in increasing his power and he is only evolving/energising himself when he needs to rather than just juicing himself up for just heck of it and making sure that he releases the energy right there and then and not keep it in a prolonged state that might make him all crazy again. I disagree. In Godzilla vs.Kong, when Kong was standing in the throne room, there was a huge Gojira skeleton that dwarfs Godzilla with the same kind of dorsal plates. In the monsterverse movies there is evidence that Godzillas plates grow and change when he gets massive doses of radiation. I think that massive Gojira ate the star and passed the mutations down to Godzilla.

In the Monsterverse lore the Godzilla of the series is a new godzilla, there were others before him that have since passed, Dagon for example. This Godzilla is not the Godzilla in the legend told by the Iwii.

I think Godzilla parent was the space godzilla and once itvwas killed he managed to pass its energy to godzilla since he can pretty much evolve at will and since we haven't heard anything about Goji reproduction he might be like the Phoenix when the space fodzilla was killed it's rebirth gave us Godzilla and thats why he's able evolve so fast and often

Seeing how much time we saw just kong and the apes. I am kind of hoping to see a movie showing godzillas past. And a movie more of godzilla point of view. With some human moments maybe as a sort of narrative stand point.

I don't think this was the Godzilla in the movies, or if it was the crystals were left in his place of confinement and there will be some DNA left that will do a mutated regeneration into Space Godzilla. Though do think it is mistranslated as many in Monarch tend to forget that Godzilla is the LAST of his species, not the only one. I think it may have been a Gojira that did that and they just assumed it was Godzilla.

Here's my thing. SpaceGodzilla needs to be an alien. Thats the biggest thing about him. The ideas of SpaceGodzilla being banished in the Hollow Earth makes more sense, but a Godzillasaurus or Godzilla transforming into SpaceGodzilla is a big no no on my book and it doesn't make sense. You can say Zo-Zla Halawa is a Godzilla with wings and is extraterrestrial but hasn't fully evolved yet.

In godzilla x Kong (film) when they are looking at the lore about the gojira that ate a star Dr Andrew's says godzilla. That kinda confused me at first but it makes sense now. He seems to be fine now though. The influx of power could have addled him for a while but he seems to have adapted to absorbing lots of power

Theory. When Ghidorah fell to earth, he brought with him cosmic material containing extreme levels of radiation, more than had ever been seen on earth before. In the war against Ghidorah, Godzilla consumed the radiation, eating a star, and went mad in his battle with Ghidorah. After Ghidorah was frozen, Mothra took it upon herself to bond with and reform Godzilla. While they were away, Skar King slaughtered the Gojira and started the great titan war. Godzilla and Mothra would return in time to finish the war and banish Skar King. Now Godzilla does what he can to keep another titan war from happening.

I still hope spacegodzilla is a separate godzilla and not the og godzilla. Cause it makes sense.

What if his temple in the second Godzilla movie for him wasn’t a temple or city but his prison or his rehabilitation center? If he was corrupted by some form of different radiation ☢️, what if that temple was built for him to stay and absorb normal radiation ☢️ to not only strengthen him but to physically him on the right path also, and it did. Then when he finally surfaced for the first time during atomic bomb testing he was back to normal.
