Another reason Godzilla outright killed Scylla was in the tie-in comics even after she bowed to him in Boston she rebelled to attack a nuclear missile boat and this time a reactor to juice up. Basically this was her last straw, and Tiamat had to get outright stomped just to make her submit since she almost killed Godzilla. I think he knew what was coming and wanted both the radiation and figured Tiamat would buck his authority as an alpha again and after Scylla's wasted chances he wasn't in a forgiving mood.

I had heard nothing but good about this already, but your mutual enthusiasm would have clinched it for me regardless. The 12-year-old version of me would never believe that we would not only get two fantastic Godzilla movies in a year, but that one would win an academy award. Meanwhile, Kong is getting more time in the sun after decades of misfires following the original legendary film. Keep being awesome, guys! Ia Horror Guru! Ia Count Jackula! #GodzillaFitsHeSits

Just finished Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. My heart is full of kaiju sized joy that has set every nerve in my body positively reverberating with energy. I admit there's a lot to the plot of this movie I didn't care fore, but the actual kaiju fights and the heart of the story carried me through. What I wouldn't give for a Land of the Lost re-imagining that used this movie as a template for what actually works, because a lot of what happened in the human side of this film genuinely reminded me of that show (the 90's reboot, not so much the original). With the human augmentation of Kong, I think it would be a great idea for the next movie to introduce Gigan, a titan from an entirely different planet (an idea already established by King Ghidorah) that was augmented by the denizens of their home planet...and then either broke free of their control and set out to conquer other planets, or maybe was intentionally loosed on the galaxy for that purpose. Get me in the writers' room, Legendary! I've got ideas! Great review! Glad you guys liked this the way I did!

Me and my mom highly recommend Late Night With the Devil! It was great and-in our opinion-there was no dead air throughout the movie. Your mileage may vary on the ending, however, as it’s more artistic than the rest of the movie. It has even gotten praise from Stephen King. So I think it may be up your guy’s alley.

Guru, I say for the next Kong movie they introduce the Seatopians from the showa era. They lived in a hollow earth, and they had Megalon. It would be Kong vs Megalon!

Better yet, have a 2v2 with the Xillians invading the surface with Gigan and the Seatopians trying to conquer the Mothra tribe of Hollow Earth with Megalon and then Godzilla and Kong have to team up to defeat Megalon and Gigan. Also lets throw in King Cesar and Jet Jaguar as allies for the hell of it. #godzillafitshesits

This movie delivered everything I was hoping for and more! The action was tons of fun and lots of it, and Kong actually had character and a pretty good storyline. The humans, eh take them or leave them, but I was overall beyond satisfied with what this movie delivered.

#GodzillaFitsHeSits The movie was indeed a blast, and my favorite aspect is how by the end he's officially King Kong, even though they legally can't bill him accordingly. Also, this is why I love Kaiju movies, they can be an over the top blast, or they can be grounded prestige dramas, to think they can't be both is beyond silly and reductive, as shown by this movie's reviews.

I've seen this movie twice now... I absolutely love it! And regarding Tiamat, in one of the tie-in comics for Godzilla Vs Kong, she blinded him with her nasty ass acid breath. So, in a sense? This was payback. And if Adam Wingard makes this third movie, I kinda hope he finds more of his kind, but not a metric fuckton like Kong did. At least a juvenile (hopefully more Junior than Minilla), and the villain? I've been saying it for years, but I want SpaceGodzilla. I don't care how, I'll be willing to roll with a new origin. Regardless, great video as always guys! #GodzillaFitsHeSits

Funny you mentioned Godzilla vs Gigan. Toho Kingdom changed their site for April Fools into a fake booking site for the World Children's Land theme park. I enjoyed this movie and found no faults. I did expect the tribe to turn out evil and be Manda or Megalon worshippers but as you said, offshoot of the Skull Island tribes worshipping Mothra. Nice peeps. Hoping for Gigan in the future.

#GODZILLAFITSHESITS My wife and I just got back from seeing this in IMAX and we had a blast. One thing to note, and I could be wrong about this, but I think we had another Toho Kaiju cameo. The creature that tried to steal Kong's meal at the beginning looked a lot to me like a baby Anguirus.

I'm definitely going to check it out, but you already have people trying to compare it to Godzilla minus one. Those are two completely different animals. When is meant to be thought-provoking post-war Japan and all that the other one is popcorn entertainment.

@@TheHorrorGuru They once had a vinyl and faux fur full sized Crite puppet in Fangoria magazine when I was a kid and I so, so wanted that thing! My dad and I were both Critters fans, but sadly, I never got that puppet for Christmas. I believe is was $80 plus S&H.

absolutely hated the human "drama." it was paint by numbers soap opera "acting" that got on my nerves. i wish the studio would have the balls to just make it a royal rumble kaiju film and completely take out the human element. they sort of did in the kong bits when he came across another tribe of kongs but that part was so boring. kong is not an interesting character but he can kick ass. could have been great.
