This is the sound of soldiers going to War with an angry God, or the sounds of a God’s rage against the world that mocks him with it’s resistance. Honestly, the best composition for Godzilla since next to the original.
You know what's strange? I can't read or speak a word of Japanese, yet I immediately picked out the letters for Godzilla in that comment without even having to look for it. Godzilla is literally the only Japanese I know how to read and I find that funny, that the Japanese writing of Godzilla looks as familiar to me as any English word.
I personally like all designs of MechaG, including the Transforming MechaGodzilla design by Ohrai Norioshi & the Ready Player One design.... minus that thing from the anime trilogy.
This theme is like a WW2 theme, the other team winning, while the other team losing. Its like pure chaos everywhere and bombs exploding, people dying, gunshots fired. Or like a villain theme where he attacks a city and everyone is screaming and running. But,as always. THE THEME IS AWESOME!!
Interesting Fact: Originally, Godzilla was supposed to win in this. The director stated that the original ending was similar as what we got in the final film, but Kiryu never surfaces like he does in the actual film, which implies that Kiryu was destroyed and Akane (Kiryu’s pilot) was dead. However, ether Toho forced him to change it to make a sequel possible or that the ending would of been a bit too dark as Kiryu was basically humanity’s last hope on taking down Godzilla, and if Godzilla actually did survived in this ending like he did in the final film, that would basically mean that there’s no other way to stop Godzilla (that, or because since Akane is probably the 2nd best human protagonist we had in a Godzilla movie, they probably wanted her to live anyway). Don’t get me wrong, I like Tokyo SOS, but the movie felt like a rehash of GXMG but with Mothra thrown in to make it “unique” (plus considering the fact that Akane didn’t have a major role in the next movie kinda shows how pointless it was to let her live outside of giving her a happy ending if they reduce her to a background character).
You gotta admit SoS is pretty iconic though. Probably biased because I grew up on the millennium movies( Showa aswell) but I think we should appreciate SoS especially considering it's one of the last traditional ( suited up) godzilla movies in the last 20 years
This score is way better than what they use for the new Godzilla movies. Godzilla needs this score when he shows up to fight curly kong....Godzilla, KING OF ALL MONSTERS....
Kiryu by far has the best mech design ever. I don't even consider him a mech either, I consider him a Kaiju, no one calls him mechagodzilla type 3, but known mostly as Kiryu.
Way I saw it: Both, this was humanity's finest tech and hour to bring down the King of Monsters, 'Destroyer of Worlds' Godzilla. Also, the Original Godzilla resides in Kiryu so the return of the King! That gen's Godzilla lineage vs the Original was a sight. So add some royal tones to the theme track.
This theme would go so hard in the Monsterverse. Like imagine hearing this theme as you see Godzilla pull up to land with the military trying to stop or help him.
I hope Michiru Oshima's music, including this song, will be in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (March 22, 2019) and the King Kong vs. Godzilla remake (May 22, 2020).
David Reyz That is wishful thinking and I think it would awesome to do so. However, we know that it won't happen because the studio heads will do their own thing... as usual.
David Reyz never gonna happen buddy I don't think TOHO is going to let legendary use this since America butchers pretty much anything that has to do with example
Both main characters are existentially conflicted. One is questioning whether she deserves a place in the JSDF after killing her commander in combat, and the other is a former giant fire breathing reptile that has an identity crisis.
Here’s a list of my favorite Mechagodzilla’s 1. Kiryu, he’s just amazing looking 2. 74, one of the first non Godzilla monsters I ever saw, number one was ghidorah. 3. GVK, He’s got a neat design though a bit too oddly shaped in the head. 4. RPO, eh, never truly liked the design. 5. Mechagodzilla 2 from the heisei films, I never liked this guy ???. Box boi from the posters, since he was never on screen I can’t fully place him.
I'd like to imagine this track playing as Sorrento (the main villain of Ready Player One) summons Kiryu to fend off Parzival, Shoto, Art3mis, and Aech during the climactic final battle in the book. I know this track is actually Godzilla's theme for the movie, but it works a lot better as an antagonist track than Kiryu's theme does.
Michiru Oshima composed this wonderful music for 'Godzilla vs Megaguirus' as a theme for Godzilla. But I think it works better as a theme for the JSDF and for mankind, going to battle against the one King of the Monsters.
Ya mire la pelicula, pero en ingles. Y puedo decir que es una pelicula interesante. Aqui si toman muy enserio los sucesos del Godzilla 54, usando su esqueleto pars manejar a Mechagodzilla. Estuvo muy buena
