Pretty much Cell was no match to Gohan no matter how much he powered up. Even when he had a zenkai boost from the explosion and achieved SSJ2 powers, Gohan was still stronger

I feel you are missing his greater point. It's not that he knew him personally meaning like a friend, lover, colleague, or family member. However due to the interconnectedness of all things, beings, and species Toriyamas death had a great impact on him. While toriyama is bigger than his manga and story given that he is the creator, author, and founder the impact of how his death felt is profound. I personally have gotten a lot and feel his manga, anime is a reflection of in a sense him and his values. So when the author of said manga dies then that is a big blow and people feel emotions. Each person processes these emotions differently and for him it's the feeling of missing someone. However I feel it's more like kinda missing a figure that was important in one's life. Even if you didn't know personally he still was inspirational through his stories. It's like all might care about Deku on TV vastly before he met AllMight. When they met the dynamic changed but he cared about all nights existence long before he personally knew him How one can be saddened by a character's death in a TV show even if one does not directly know them. Well you can experience them directly in a way through the medium of the show and if the show is sufficiently deep enough and embedded or embodied you get the transmission. Toriyama is the inspiration for the shonen manga and anime industry to a large extent for action. Without toriyama anime + manga might not have ever gotten this far. So I from a fan base standpoint people do miss him and it varies based on his influence in their childhood. Personally for me dragon ball z archetypes were a big deal in influencing my life seemingly. However the best way to keep respects for him that I know would be Big Mind Dragon Ball (Z) (Heart)

That was an amazing outtro from the narrator; DBZ's translations has its fair share of goofs but there are some really fantastic moments of translating and writing from the American producers.. I'm currently rewatching the series and it holds up so well, it's much a much deeper series than I remember

that's inaccurate, it doesn't say anywhere that Gohan never wanted to be strong, he'd always admire his father when he was young, the point was that he was forced into Combat through a traumatic experience. Between his Uncle & Piccolo kidnapping him, then constantly seeing his friends and family nearly dying, I wouldn't blame him. After all that, one could use a break.

Rest in peace to a legend, I’ll never forget the first time I’ve seen the scene of Gohan letting his anger out and going SSJ2 for the first time. It really stuck with me as a kid and it still does to this day. Knowing the person who created that beautiful scene is no longer with us hurts but I will push my limits just as he taught me and millions of other people as well. Rest in peace Akira Toriyama.

They really did Gohan justice in the new movie. All the disrespect they gave him in the RoF movie , they redeemed it. When Gohan transformed into his "Perfected Ultimate Form" , this was the first time I actually saw the Gohan I saw on T.V when I was 13. That same red beam light they show on the movie when he was about to transform was a direct reference for Teen gohan transforming into ssj2.

Not trying to start something here, just curious. What do you consider "Properly Animated," TheAwesomeDarkNinja? How do you think the SSJ2 transformation should of been conducted/animated?
I feel like SSJ2 should have had more lightning in the aura, similar to how it was portrayed in the Cell Saga. The hair should be immensely spikier, and shouldn't flow as much as SSJ1 hair does. For example, Goku's bang stays in front of his face in SSJ1, but in SSJ2 - it would've been nice to see the bang shoot up into his hairline. Almost like showing that SSJ2 has a lot more concentration of the flow and aura. But the actual animation makes it hard to see what is SSJ1 or SSJ2. If no one said anything in the fight between Goku and Majin Vegeta, I would have assumed they fought in SSJ1. Same with Vegito. He had lightning in his aura but all media claims he was just an SSJ1. Hell, even Xenoverse changes nothing about your hair when you become an SSJ2 (but to be fair they didn't change your hair for SSJ1 either).
I cried when i seen him transform into a ssj2...it made me happy to see a little kid that was afraid of everything....proved he was tired of fighting for the universe. All he wanted was peace..an when Cell pissed him off...thats when we saw an whole other character...that wasnt the little kid that was underrated...his father pasted him the touch an he showed he wasnt afraid anymore...an thats why this brings tears to my eyes..to see my favorite character become the strongest in the series. I will forever love Gohan..a nerd or not..he will always be my favorite..an thats from the heart❤😢

There is no way to explain how much this theme embodies the epitome of Gohan's journey. It gives off calm vibes with a powerful undertone that sums up all his experiences, from the cute little cry baby tugging on Goku's legs to the powerful warrior that bests Cell.

Thats how I feel and whats happening to me right now. Ive been rewatching DBZ for a month or so now and I got this fight the day of a breakup, it feels so much different now than it used to. Im just sitting here crying. All I ever did was try to make them happy, put their feelings before mine and it just made things worse. All I had to do to maintain that relationship was be myself and I didnt. Its over now and Im so stupid.

You would have thought cell had learned his lesson after letting vegeta power up for 10 minutes to unleash a final flash that nearly killed him... But nope, the arrogant sod did the same thing AGAIN.
Gohan Angers really speaks to me, because it is an emotional theme that has suits my life at certain points. I'm not sure if other people 100% understand, because they might not have grown up watching and being attached to the show, but I felt Gohan's pain and suffering in the Cell Games saga (where this theme debuted). The beginning of the theme, where the piano opens up, really symbolizes a sharp pain in your/my heart, almost like you're/I'm in betwen the boundaries of giving up and anger. When the instruments drop it feels like hope is being pumped through your/my veins, telling you/me not to give up. When the Viola introduces itself you/I just release all negativity through anger and vocalization (screaming). It's deep stuff man. I can relate to this theme, because I've played this song so many times, it describes so many situations where I've played it: working out, family drama, friendship problems, being pushed in a corner, etc. I've cried to this song, like Gohan did when Cell tried to push him to go Super Saiyan 2. Bruce Faulconer and his team really hit a gem with this theme, and so many people overlook this masterpiece. The Japanese OST has nothing on this emotional piece of music.
Gohan: The story of a gentle person who was forced into combat to protect his loved ones. There are many of us in our families who are forced to become like Gohan for the sake of our families
At first the theme sounds very mystic and soothing just like Gohan´s personality but then you hear new instruments, the guitar and bass. They represent the anger and power flowing through Gohan. They get progressively stronger and almost overcome the soothing theme, only for it to come back seconds later. Then you hear the soothing theme and the beat in regular breaks. The power is there but Gohan´s true nature was never gone, it is still there in the background. He hasn´t turned into monster.
Takezo Kimura I think that's what it takes to unlock Super Saiyan 2, letting everything go, but not letting your power consume you. ssj is unlocked through rage and emotion, ssj2 is unlocked through clarity.

He had the same issue when fighting Cell. He doesn't finish his opponent off when he has the chance. He likes to toy with them and make them suffer, which always results in something bad happening. Seems like Trunks and Piccolo are the only ones that believe in getting shit done quickly.
+Anton Nzl its more that Gohan doesnt have the killing intent Goku and Vegeta have, same problem with Trunks, its their half human blood, even Goku will off someone if they are a true threat. He lets Vegeta live more out of respect towards another honorable fighter, if a little unhinged and far more bloodlust filled.

Eh. Im at the point where its screw potential. Want to see initiative. At some point, potential doesn't just sit there and last forever. At some point in the grand scheme of things its meaningless.
Hit has the best potential, he went from barely standing up to super saiyan blue goku, to fighting evenly with ssb kaioken times 10. He improved his abilities in the span of seconds. Even vegeta said that hit was able to grow faster than saiyans.
