Well, unfortunately the answer is a bit of everything. It will take practice and a bit of time to find our your own best way of shaving your head. i always just go with the grain and everything is fine.no irritation at all :) for sure it´s not that smooth but you don´t see the hair stopples anyway

what drives me crazy with my head after i do this, 12 hrs later i start to already feel stubble doesnt even last a solid 24hrs drives me nuts!

Count yourself lucky. I have no hair loss, I just like the look, I feel stubble on the top after 3-5 hours

Love shaving everyday. Due to sensitive skin I either use an electric or shave with the grain. It's not the smoothest shave but it's the best for me and my skin.

Just shaved my head for the first time. Your videos really gave me the push I needed to get on with it. Used a gilette skinguard razor (based on your video review) and went with the grain only to see how my skin would react. So far so good, looking forward to trying against the grain and getting that even closer shave. Where can one purchase your bald balm?

Since I started shaving my head bald a few months back, I only shaved with the grain. Today felt inspired to go against the grain and saw this video to give me some tips. I did it and it looks so much better. Just smoothe. I like it that much more.

Super clean shave you did! No nicks, nor bumps, that I was able to see on you. :3 🔥🤝😬😎 Yeah, I've not shaved for like 3 or so years. Haha. I've been trimming here and there, but not for some months have I done it. I finally decided to do it today. Trimmed my hairs off with a trimmer I just bought today, wireless this time. My 4+ years Wahl broke apart the other day. Lol. I barely oiled it, but it worked quite well that way. Then boiled water in a kettle, let it cool a little, and ran water from the sink into a mug, mixing the boiling hot water into it. Then splashing it on where I'll shave, repeating the process many times. I kept lathering the skin with shaving cream. Going against the grain for sure to get very close, then switching directions to make sure everything is cut. Dipping the blades and gel strip into the boiling hot water in the kettle too. Going up on my head really was sensitive, but plenty areas were fine. I tried a cheap Sweden razer, with disposable blades in the kit. Then water, reapply cream, shave. Using my hand to feel for any hairs. The crown of course you have to go in all sorts of directions. Lol. Then I used a coffee coconut scrub, rinsed, showered. Then aloe vera mixed gel, and that gel has alcohol, burned really bad, but not horribly either. Used or pure sandalwood essential oil too. After it all soaked in, rinsed my face with water every some minutes for a little while. I got some nicks, but no bumps. 😅😬🤝🔥

Guys! Take off the lubricating strip! I shave once with the grain , then against. My whole head felt like it was on fire the first few times. I swear it’s the strip that causes irritation.

When i wet shave i use the half time razor. It goes with the grain and against the grain at the same time and takes half the time. I only use it on my head never on my face. No matter what kind of razor you use you should never use the same razor on your head that you use on your face, the one you use on your head gets dull a lot faster than the one for your face. I also use a whal five star foil shaver when i have little time. I shave my head daily so i also use a after shave balm on my head.

I keep getting these red bumps that only worsen as I continue to shave, which is every other day. It's gotten so bad that I have to stop for almost a week for them to go away so I can shave again.

Me to i have red bumps that are all over my hair I shaved till bald but they are really really alot and won't go, and they make white stuff go out did you find anything for it?

I find shaving with the grain, whether it's my scalp or beard, is pretty much useless as it just doesn't get it smooth enough. I've never found going against the grain gives me a rash or ingrowing hairs as so many say it does. A good sharp blade and good shaving foam or soap is what's needed. Interested you use Body Shop. Used that for a long time in the past then went over to aerosol foam. Think I might try and get some more of the Bodyshop stuff as it is definitely better - also love the experience of cream and brush more than foam.

The best shave against the grain is with oil of olay with shea butter soap and i use gillettes pro fusion and works very good.been doing this for over 15 years

Why do you start against the grain? I understand you said you don't have much hair, but isn't that why most of us are watching this video? Everywhere I have read says to start with the grain and THEN go against the grain.

Why do you use a brush to put the shaving cream on? Can’t you use your hands?

You cant lather shaving cream or soap with your hand, you must use a brush, only canned shaving gel can be applied by hand which is an awful option to shave with never ever shave your head with canned shaving gel

You and I seem to have the similar beard growth. My sister seems to think my beard is fake. Have you been using any beard conditioner or oil ? Loving the headshave. I am going for a bald fade myself this Friday. Nervous as hell !

You will love it man. I use beard oil sometimes but I have actually been using minoxidil for the last few months on my beard to try and make it look thicker. I have some more videos about it here on the channel :)
