This is my story. Seven years after having a double mastectomy due to cancer, I started to get sick from the implants. I explanted and went flat, and chose not to wear a prosthesis. I was also not given the option when going through cancer and it would’ve been a much healthier option for me.
My sister having a double mastectomy at 75. Our mother in the 1960s, had cancer and one breast removed, almost died due to an infection. She survived, lived an excellent life and passed at 91. My sister has a lump in one breast recently, thats cancerous. She wants both breasts removed, checking for the gene that causes it, (2 daughters), doesn’t want an ongoing worry with the other breast, wants balance, and, she’s not her breast. She said, if she was younger might consider reconstruction, but feels assured and her husband does too, that this is the right direction and decision for her.
Well I was younger and not married and extremely open about not having breasts and shock men are understanding and men still are attracted to me and not repulsed by no breasts..I find men are visual but not all men reject breastless women..this comment is also for women going flat ..
Doing mastectomy in two weeks time,I decided to go flat.Went to a plastic surgeon and after explaining both procedures to me,no way I am doing reconstruction.
Whats the problem? Have a friend who removed both her breasts to cancer. She started with implants but that was just painful. She removed it and are happy beeing flat.
