It’s few weeks later now and i have and even though we’re pretty sure we’ve narrowed down the area pretty good, unfortunately we will not be going back out to look for it. The woman was not pleased with our efforts, and the fact that we wouldn’t go back out the next day to try again, so she fired us from the job (even thought we weren’t charging her) and said she’d go get it herself. I dropped her keys back off to her and have not heard from her since.
@@besetapart369 Agreed 🤝 💯 that's too bad. Casey does a ton to help folks out. Hate when folks act that way. I get the stress, but give the fella a chance!
You & Ben definitely made a valiant effort to help out the lady !! Waaaaay more than most woulda. And God Blessed you with a Awesome once in a lifetime waterfall on your Birthday ! Happy Birthday Casey 🇺🇸
During the phone calls conversation about contacting SAR, I kept waiting for the “I never said I was good at this” line! Even better would be “Ben, that’s why I brought you along!”😜
That was quite the adventure and seeing that waterfalls was so special. In your comments Casey, the woman should have been a lot more appreciative of your efforts but I can understand her frustration also. Oh well, not everything has a desired outcome and hopefully she will find her car and gets closure on an odd event and her husband recovers.
Darn Casey, it's too bad that she was so pig headed with your herculean search efforts because if you were still on it and not successful, I was thinking of getting Dave Sparks involved with his assortment of aircraft to do some searching from above, and he could probably make it a tax write off, maybe. And what a Crazy story this is that has what I would call a good ending because of the gentleman making it out alive and getting picked up by aliens or eaten by creatures. Perhaps it will have a second ending when the vehicle is located and then she calls you again to go recover it.
Well at first I was feeling bad for her but not after the way she treated them I do however hope the best for her hubby though and idk but the way she acts I just wonder if the hubby was just trying to get away from her for the day and ended up getting himself stuck way out there lol you never know😂
Hi from Ontario Canada ..the little town you went through …we call stick and plum towns …stick your head out the window and your plum out of town. Love your channel and what you have been able to accomplish.
The waterfall, even though I wasn't there, it made my day. That was beautiful. I get the same way about Mother Nature's little things like that, so I understand, thank you. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!
And let's give a huge gratefully firm handshake as well as huge Kudos for Ben for also giving up his day to help! You've got an extraordinarily great bunch of people surrounding you Casey! Happy "Belated" birthday! 🎂 🍻🎉🎈🎉🎉
That was so far beyond what anyone else would have done to find the car, especially with the sketchy location information provided. Great Job Casey and Ben! I'm sorry that the wife was not grateful for your time/effort.....family health scares can bring out the worst side of people. Hope the rest of your birthday went great Casey! 🎂
Casey...that was hilarious! You've got to have Ben on more often...you guys make a great team...even though Ben was grumpy most of the time...makes for great entertainment!
Out of all that country out there I have sat in the shade and ate a snack under that very tree you sat under. It was in August of 2006, I can assure you there was no waterfall there then. What a rare and amazing sight to see.
That was definitely a risky venture in that country, that stuff has no bottom to it when it is saturated like that. Many a high desert adventurer have had to walk a long way for help when it's like that. Good on you for the effort you both put in.
@@CaseyLaDelle There's some similar parts in northern Arizona. Years ago my mother was looking to buy land. Took her to see some ranch land that was parting-out, used my 4x4 pickup. Late spring, road turned to a mix of crazy sticky mud, soup and volcanic rocks. We got out, barely, it was a struggle. Suspension completely weighed down to the stops from all that mud!
Another nice ride in your office. Waterfall was super cool and, I hope, worth the trip. Sorry you got the butt end of the Subaru owner's miss-placed anger. I'm glad you went out, I enjoyed the trip and seeing all that water on the desert floor. Having Ben along added to the fun. Hope YOUR wives didn't get too mad. Happy Birthday, Casey.
Gotta love a friend who'll go with you without knowing the details, those are the BEST! Also, love your enthusiasm over the beauty of nature. I do the same thing when I'm out. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Casey!
@@danjones1365 oh Dan, why'd you have to ruin that previous comment? He's Casey's friend. Sometimes we get frustrated with our friends. But it's only for a moment. Over-all, & under his frustrations, he knew the purpose of the trip; what's involved in an off-road recovery; & more importantly than all of that, he knows his "friend". It also sounds like they were planning a birthday dinner at the end of the day as well. Or some sort of a birthday celebration between 2 friends at least.
Thanks for getting video of the extremely rare waterfall. Her car may end up getting flooded with all that water flow, depending on where it is. Best of luck to her getting her car, she's gonna need it now. Ben & you sure make entertaining videos. I think I heard a birthday mentioned. Happy birthday Casey!
Casey, I love your videos. I love your enthusiasm for history, the environment and nature in general. Beautiful waterfall. Thanks for showing it to us, probably something a lot of people will never ever see.
That sounds like the perfect needle in a haystack. What a clusterfuck! You guys get an A+ for giving it a shot having the best attitude about it. That waterfall was so rad. Glad you stopped and checked it out. That was totally spectacular! So wild to see so much water in the desert. Like Ben said hopefully it'll grow and bloom and make an awesome spring and summer.
you should add a Pull Pal to your winching accessories. You guys said multiple times "there is nothing to winch off of" you ALWAYS have a winch point with a pull pal in the desert :)
I can hear it now , " heads up neighbors , we got a couple of strangers in a large truck with a jeep on the back , kept talking about a tree , a mud hole and a red barn "
That waterfall really was a special treat for your birthday! On my birthday 5 years ago, I too saw a waterfall that rarely shows it’s self. I was hiking the trail around mt st Hellen’s and found the waterfall coming straight out of a lava rock wall. It felt glorious! I’ll never forget it!
The waterfall anomaly was absolutely gorgeous and I’m glad you saw it and filmed it . She could try getting someone with a small plane or helicopter to fly a grid search ?
Actually, if she does "go ahead" and get someone to grid search, (with, or without, finding it) - I hope she has the biggest contractual BILL for those services, that will far outweigh any cost of replacement for another vehicle, simply to prove to her, that she should NEVER have proven to all of us around the world, that she's just an ungrateful slob, a KAREN at her worst, which in some small way makes me pleased, that her husband got it so far away, to be LOST in the first instance - and yes - I hope he survives/ gets well & divorces her. Why? Well at least half the cost of the lost vehicle will be his and someday - he may even bother going to reclaim it - although I doubt if he'd bother.
I'm so happy you took the time to walk all that distance to check out that waterfall that was absolutely beautiful and just think you might have caught that on video for the very first time in history that's super cool and a beautiful sight
Casey, with the remote area you work you need cell phone amps/repeaters in your vehicles with high gain external antennas. I bet if you reach out to Wilson or one of the competitors they will work with you to “test” their products. Keep up the great work, videos and upbeat positive messaging & personality👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻
@@CaseyLaDelle - Understandable you don't y want the complications of more companies. The cell equipment though is a real good idea if you have the money to make that addition. Of course you'd need it to be movable from one vehicle to another, which is easy enough. But then again you'd have to remember it each time.
The least I can do is like and comment on the video. Being grateful for your energy and effort to supply us with content. Wish there was a dislike button for the customers reaction. Keep on being kind, considerate, and helpful. You are appreciated!
Loved the waterfall discovery! ❤ So glad you got to share that with us. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Have a great year full of many blessings and adventures! Sorry you came away empty handed but you two did everything including putting yourselves at risk to find that vehicle. I hope the owners at least watch your video to see how much you tried. Hope your family wasn't too upset at your long day and missing your birthday celebration. Thanks to all that tried to help. Stay safe and GOD bless
A valiant effort. These things happen when there is such sketchy information to go by. Still a fun video and well worth it to see the rare waterfall in the desert 👍
Wow! 😊 Casey, you are always showing a great adventure working. Too much fun for just one operator! 😅 Rough reality for extracting this customer's vehicle. Had a diabetic friend get lost and in a ditch before cellphones! Yeah, I'm old. He was found by a passersby unconscious. Survived the incident but locating their vehicle was miserable.
That's a shame she took out her frustration on you. You tried, and probably were going to again, but she had to pop off. I get it. No vehicle, hubby in hospital. Bad days. But she needed to direct that frustration elsewhere. Regardless, seeing that waterfall was awesome and those nature shots and stops are a big reason I love your channel. When you see something cool, you don't pass it up. Keep up the good work and happy late birthday. 🍻
Happy birthday Casey. Thank u for all the great videos and thanks for always being honest and caring. Wish there were more people like u. Happy birthday bro
You two are the best brothers, friends, neighbors anybody could wish for. Oh, and great storytellers on top of that! PS on the town of Riley: once figured to have coffee in a town (NM) that was only 5 postboxes…
Speaking as an amateur photographer that would have been a real gem especially in the right time early or late in the day. Would be so much better with stills than video though. Thanks for sharing such a gem. I understand your excitement.
Yes and your title says, Going Home Empty Handed. I feel like this is a once in a lifetime occurrence. Thanks for taking the time to show us. The guys that lived out there said they had never seen the waterfall, so that makes us lucky.
It's way more well known, but if you ever get a chance to do a similar quick visit tot he head of the Metolius, it'd be really cool to share that with your audience. Having visited it since I was a kid, I realize as an adult that I just took it for granted that an entire river could just emerge from the ground. At first look, it's borderline unbelievable.
I visited my cousin in Springfield in March and was going to Boise to visit my brother and niece. I drove over Santiam Pass (took a short nap at the ski resort parking lot) and continued to Bend, hoping to buy gas. Thanks to no self serve in Oregon, I was unable to find an open gas station. I continued on 20 East and got to Burns to be the first customer at the station I stopped in in Burns. I followed 20 rather than get on 84 near Boise, and my brother lives just a few blocks south of 20. So I drove 20 from Santiam junction all the way to Boise.
Let's do the math. Bend to Riley is about 100 miles, then probably another 100 looking around then probably more than 100 getting back home. So 300 or more miles That big rollback must not get more than 5MPG So you used at least.60 gallons. You spent your and Ben's time and more than $400 on fuel and she fired you from a job that you were nor getting paid for? Amazing people
I can not wrap my head around the mindset were you get angry at a person donating their time and equipment (at a cost to themselves) because they set limits on when and how they can help you.
Well you guys definitely covered some ground looking for that vehicle. Yes you did the right thing turning around when you did. Living out here I know how easy it is to get stuck in the middle of nowhere. I haven't done it yet, but I've helped out a few folks. Even a UPS truck that got stuck in my driveway!
More. Videos. Like. This. The recovery work is fun and educational to watch but when you do scenic stuff like this, it's icing on the cake. Were you going to start a channel re exploring the countryside? Sort of recall that at one time. It was the (ice) caves episode?
Casey will you please keep us updated on this? I really want to see this lady get her car back. You and Ben did all that you could it was definitely an interesting adventure. The waterfall was definitely worth it in my opinion
