Cleaning the house was the best idea as a gift for new parents. Reminds of the day before Thanksgiving, my mom was cooking all day for 15 people. She was too tired to clean up, so I snuck over after work & did all the dishes & clean-up while she slept. She said it was the best gift she ever got & a huge relief when she woke up the next day. Good job Bates family.

To me one of the most precious things in the world is watching a daddy hold his baby. Travis is so gentle and tender with Hailey.

All grandparents should be like Travis’s parents. Always there to help but never to interfere or judge. Always getting along and just grateful for their surroundings. Your parents will be a pfenominal addition into Haileys life. Y’all are blessed!

Katie I’m not sure if they sell Epsom Salt in America but if you can find it buy it and bath in it each day. It will speed up your recovery time down there dramatically and also help take away some of the pain if you tore or got cut. She is so precious, god bless you all she is perfect. Makes me want another one 😂

Congratulations! She's precious. My baby boy was born 2 days ago. Recovery definitely takes some time. But you'll feel better when you rest. Accept all the help you can get. This is my 8th baby, and I've never practiced that until now. Enjoy your sweet baby. God is so good!

Katie nurse her every couple of hours. Wake her if you need to. My daughter did that and they were ecstatic when she went back for the weight check. These tiny babies have little stomachs and feed more often. But that is your job Katie, resting and taking care of Hailey.

Hayley is just the most adorable baby girl. So precious. Katie and Travis, you both will great parents. Katie is so sweet and grateful for anything someone does for her and her little family. I love that you guys could get your parents a couch and that they were able to replace several other pieces of furniture for nothing out of pocket. The couch is nice.

I purchased the same baby swaddle and matching hat that grandma aka Mike is holding before you put the couch together. I got that great quality swaddle set from your sister Michaela’s shop. She even gave me a free pink hat that matched as well. My girl Charley is now 16 months. Welcome to the world baby girl!

The first thing I thought of when I saw Remi trying to lick Hailey all over was it wasn’t that long ago that Remi had her puppies and what do mommy dogs do after they have each puppy? They lick them and clean them and want to be close to them. Remi is so smart I know that she knows that Hailey is new and all she was trying to do was clean her and be close to her. So sweet💜

Katie, please still take it very easy. The first 2 months are so important for your body. It's extra hard for first time moms to recover. You have been thru so much physically , and emotionally. Just rest all that you can. And take lots of naps, and eat as much healthy food as possible.

All four of my babies were so easy for the first 1-2 weeks. Then they “found their voice,” lol. Honestly? I think God makes SURE they’re easy in those early days so mama can get rested up for the routine ahead. ❤

Good wishes and blessings to you all! Don't forget new babies average eating every two hours. Premie babies fall asleep nursing because they aren't strong enough to stay awake. Take away the binky so that all of Hailey's energy is used for eating. Nursing on your side through the night is normal with a newborn, just roll a tiny pillow behind her back.

Hailey is so adorable!! I’m glad your all home and Katie is doing well with recovery. I’m sure you get advice all the time and I know I didn’t listen to this and I really wish I had. Always nap/rest when Hailey does. I know it can be hard to do sometimes because you want to get some things around the house done but right now your body needs as much rest as you can to help with the recovery. I did way to much after my son was born, he was my first, and I ended up having a huge setback because of it. 💜

When my girdle were born we had to use babydoll clothes. My oldest full term perfectly healthy was 3 lb 12.4oz and my youngest three weeks early was 5 lb 6oz
