What a brilliant little film . Mark Knopfler’s music made a clever film just sublime . I just loved it.This is just superb on the piano, just lifts the weight off my shoulders.
I went to my birth place last week . And what a shame I didn't recall the names of people . Looking at them you see something in the corner of the eyes or lips but no , the name is not coming ! What a pandemic time . Different faces ! Lucky we are that we do recognize the songs ! Luckily we are " the macedonians of the North " , do not remember what nation we were in Ottoman times ! Of course ! Greeks, Bulgarian, Serbian or Rumunian ???? Because of pandemic we don't remember at all now . But they still appropriate us and remember even in these "owful" days how the macedonians were theirs in times of Othoman. And are happy remembering the bids about ,macedonians . We don't remember at last due to this pandemic of course . But we remember all evergreens of our youth ! Cheeriow , very good times !
Just stunning makes me think of the beautiful world we live in but look what we’re doing to it how can we write, play and listen to such beautiful music and ruin our planet I read somewhere and they will not learn war anymore when and how is that going to happen maybe one world one government 🤔 I hope you find the truth someday soon 🤔💤💤
PS-this is so well done I had to listen twice! I hope Mr.Mark Knopfler gives this a listen! He would be mighty proud of this! What a masterful interpretation!!!
Lol....thank you once again....please feel free to share it around!! Most of the music on my channel is my own compositions.... would be grateful if you might give one or two of them a listen...see what you think!!??

This is the first time I’ve ever heard this great 🎸 guitar melody played on a 🎹 piano-and what a find this is! What a great rendition of a classic 80’s 🎥 🍿 movie theme! Fantastic job on this one!!!
Wow...thank you for your comment....I'm really happy that you have enjoyed my version of this...as you quite rightly say...great tune.... ...really appreciate you taking the time to listen and to drop me such an encouraging comment...!! Thank you!!
@@geoffallanachmusic5668 I'm sure I read last year that Knopfler had written some extra tracks for the theatre version of Local Hero. Hopefully this will go ahead.
@@geoffallanachmusic5668 Thank you so much for your kind words to me. I appreciate it a lot. I love your playing all the way, sooo much emotion and expression in every piece. Have a wonderful week my friend. 👋💛🤗
Do you know this is one of the many melodies that were collected from the Whachu valley in Austria from folk songs? ...............................I guess the best known is the main theme from Dvorhak's 9th.
Since this movie and its soundtrack ( cassette tape) came out in 1983 I have played my own rendition of this on the piano for my children, a later on, one in particular who used to say at his tender age of 6 or 7, " again Mummy, please play it again." Well, he's now 22 and I would love to obtain the sheet music of your rendition, the intro and outtro is just lovely. Please tell me how I can obtain this music. Thankyou
This is a lovely story....and I can see why you loved to play it... I don't have a score for my version as I play by ear and so I can't send you any music..... ...but Thankyou for listening and Thankyou so much for subscribing to my channel.... I hope you'll enjoy some of my other covers and perhaps some of my original tunes.....!!
Thank you for your reply Geoff. I also play by ear, so if there is no musical score to which I can refer, then I will just have to listen to your rendition over and over, until I can replay your lovely chords and incidentals. I can't quite tell from the angles of filming of your hands what key you are in. Is there a tutorial video you could make. I feel it would be very popular. Again, thanks for your reply, Sarah
Hi Rebecca This was kind of a scratch recording of this piece... I have played it by ear for more years than I care to remember...and this was the version that emerged on the day... so there is no sheet music as such for my version... sorry! ...but... thankyou for listening...and thank you for your nice comments...!!
Well if I could could play “scratch” like this, I could die happy and fulfilled. I’ve been wanting to learn the piece and love your interpretation. Thanks so much - it’s lovely.
