bro, you're excellent.. i know it's not your obligation but it would bring an awful lot of joy to many fans, if you did a couple tutorials. you've some of the most pleasing interpretations of his music. so for all of us who weren't gifted with a solid ear or too obliterated to pick them out ourselves, hook us up! you'll be helping to keep real music alive! anyway, i dig your vids and your equipment, keep up the good work.
Too bad i can't say "binge like it was the new GOT" for the later seasons. 5 years ago we could. Though after that 5th season the show started going nowhere.
Usually, I try to learn what I can, I watch other RU-vid efforts, then make additional changes while playing with the original recording. It helps me a lot because I'll hear something at that point that might be an overdub that I missed earlier. Then, I can try to incorporate the new finds.
great job! Elliott is a huge influence on our music...such imagery he evokes and his chord structure is superb. I'd be honored if you'd listen to my wife's song called "The Road' Where you from?
Yeah they are pretty bright. I guess my taste is more with j. pearse.....i use the phosphor bronze medium guage strings. They are by far my favorite so far. Great playing though man.... you kick ass. By far the best elliott smith covers on youtube.
No, mostly D'Addario phosphor bronze on that '54 J45. 12-53's. Other guitars I have use Gibson J200 strings and others have Ernie Ball Bronze as well. I prefer a heavier bass sound than bright. I think the J. Pearse strings are too bright for my taste?
You are a great guitar player, & I envy your guitars. Also you do the best covers of Elliott Smiths songs on you tube. With all the tablature out there on the web & most of them wrong or just "dumbed down" a little. I'm curious, do you learn all his songs by ear, or use tabs to help & just fix it up right? I've been trying to learn 'Everything reminds me of her'. You've got it down perfect. But there are no accurate tabs for it on the web to my knowledge.
