GOING NUCLEAR at Berkeley Green parkrun

Danny had his ion having a rad time at a most unusual parkrun location. He left ohm early on Saturday and made his way over to Berkeley Green parkrun on the bank of the River Severn in Gloucestershire. It's held on the site of a decommissioned Magnox nuclear power station.

I love Berkeley Green parkrun! Such a good atmosphere and the marshals are all so enthusiastic! Certainly a unique one!

What an eye-opener 😳! Over the past 10 years, I've done loads of races at Berkeley Power Station including the Berkeley 10k and the Fission 20/20 (choice of 20 mile or 20K). But I had absolutely no idea that the River Severn was there! I just parked up, followed the masses to the start, did the race and drove away. Just goes to show what you discover if you arrive early and do some exploring. So I'm going to share this brilliant vlog with running clubmates - ask "who knew the River Severn was there?!" and brace myself to discover that I was the only one who didn't know.... 😖

I was expecting more glow-in-the-dark pipes and chimneys - more like a cow shed ;-) Looks like a great run though and I love that part of the world - thank you for sharing.
