Thanks for the update Scott, the place is really coming along. I noticed the dual sport bike, they are a lot of fun and can be very useful for quick trips to town. I agree with you on collecting a lot of stuff over the years. I have a garage full of things. I enjoy your videos.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious Yeah I can imagine you've got some nice places to ride the bike . I love trail riding. I got rid of my RM125 Suzuki a few years ago and sure miss it. I rode a Kawasaki KDX 125 in the Philippines a couple years ago, that was a lot of fun.
Wow... The place is looking fantastic already, Scott! Amazing work!!! 😃 I'm definitely looking forward to see what you build next there! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Beautiful! Your patience, effort, skill, planning and execution, evrything is so inspirational. Love to see the journey and progress ahead please keep updating.
That Yanmar is the star of the show, good find. Thanks for taking the time to share this one with us I am enjoying watching this project all come together, awesome surroundings you have given this shop a nice cozy atmosphere. Play safe from Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada.
Another great video Scott. I love to see what your up to at the new place. I think your only taking your stuff up a wee bit at a time so that you get away to the peace and quite yourself 🤣🤣. Can’t wait for the next instalment.
Awesome overview, Scott. That freshly painted floor made my heart happy! LOL You're making great strides there, I hope you're loving every sweaty, bloody, achy minute of it. It will all be worth it in the end. Cheers.
Have been waiting for an update, and now good to see your progress. Good timing as we have just purchased similar sized block, but already set up. You are giving us good positive knowledge to use and improve what we have. Look forward to the next update
Absolutely LOVE the colors you chose. The grays and white are my favorite. That’s going to be a beautiful home when you finish….looks amazing already😊❤️👍 Love it.
Very excited to see an update Scott. I just bought 6 acres in Alaska and am in the permitting process for building a warehouse.. super inspiring to watch you build out your dream property. Keep these updates coming!
Enjoying your build! This is the bloody thing about being a ‘Maker’! We get all the shitty jobs! Then, if you say ‘no’, somehow we’re the bloody bad guys! Great work, grumble over!
good to see the progress so far Scott, bet you and Judy are pleased that's out the way. looking forward to seeing your next updates, and what you get done between now and then. 🙂
Great update your place is coming along really nice. You have a way of making anything you do interesting. I would have loved to do what you and your wife are doing if I was about 50 years younger. Keep up the updates and I hope that all your "stuff" is safe and secure in your new remote location.
I noticed your Triton Superjaws - not very common in the UK but easily my favourite tool. I love the off grid life. I wish I had the opportunity to do that.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious Yes, they're fantastic. I think I've had mine a similar time. I saw it in a Land Rover magazine someone gave to me which is the only place I ever saw one advertised. It's a bit odd that they're not really promoted over here, although they are readily available. I have all the optional jaws too - pipe clamps and logging jaws. With the cost of energy rises we're experiencing, I have started to drive around with my chainsaw permanently in the car, so that I can take advantage of fallen trees and branches (I see many around where I live) for my log burner. The Superjaws is pressed into service to hold the logs while I chop them into smaller pieces.
I wouldn’t mind a video of local flora and fauna… I mean not just the usual ‘that’s venomous these are poison oh no a drop bear…’ the parts outside the homestead that really attracted you to lay claim to it. Great Job as always!
Just realised the last 10 seconds of your video soundtrack are like the bloomin’ jungle seen at the very beginning of ‘Indiana Jones, Raiders of the lost Ark! That’s some vocal wildlife Scott!
Heya Scott! Just wanted to say, this is Episode 3 ;P Made a bench that you labeled as Episode 2. Really looking forward to seeing the rest of the progress building up!!!
Awesome work.... and some words as i see you making the little slab in front of the shed : i don't know why, but almost every time you make a concrete slab, there's ALWAYS a cat coming from nowhere just To walk on it !...😅😅😉
Feeling your pain brother, I spent a year's worth of weekends building a Titan shed and then turning it into a house that got nicknamed the "Shouse" the "Shed House", it rained and rained and made my life miserable tromping around in the mud. When I finally got the gutters on and fitted a tank, it didn't rain again in any serious way for nearly 2 years. Good luck with your move, it's a massive change to your lifestyle.
Massive change for sure! We also are building a "Shouse" soon in addition to this. I knew I wouldn't be happy stomping around in the mud as it does get wet up here, so we are trying to get up from the clay, make paths etc. Makes a huge difference to the happiness factor. Many thanks!
Fuerza y adelante amigo Scott, existen muchos ojos siguiéndote! Abrazo, Maestro Artesano!
Siempre brindas maravillosos comentarios edificantes, Rodolfo. Muchas gracias. Transmitiré su mensaje a mi esposa y familia. ¡Te veré de nuevo pronto! Todo lo mejor mi amigo. You always provide wonderful uplifting comments, Rodolfo. Thank you very much. I will pass on your message to my wife and family. I'll see you again soon! All the best my friend.
Scott, have you thought about putting everything you can on lockable wheels .cupboards - shelves- machinery etc. i did and it was game changer for me (60 years old with a bad back,) a little bit expensive but they have changed my hobby back from being hard work to a pleasure again. PS nice job on the shed mate.Awesome to start with a clean slate isn,t it . Cheers
Hi Robin. Yes I try and use casters on my machinery and cabinets etc. In my current workshop most everything rolls as I have little space. In this new workshop I can set up more permanently however. Cheers!
Thank you Wayne! At the moment we catch off the shed roof being 144 sqm which is working good for our part time presence. A second tank will be put up higher for water pressure. Hopefully we won't have to buy again now.
I was thinking that I only needed a little 12x12 space for myself and my knitting (shawls and socks), and then maybe a little more space for my soap making studio. But then I remember that y’all have spiders and snakes and ticks and all sorts of other stuff that can kill you. But you also have cute koalas and adorable Taz devils…with sharp claws and teeth. But it’s so pretty and quiet. Deadly things vs pretty and quiet. Decisions, decisions. In the meantime, I work on some slippers.
Gold! We have all the bite'es yes, but where we are they are all friendly. It's all live and let live. You'll need slippers here (just give them a good shake before you put them on), gets cool. Thanks LG.
Hi. Just recently reconnected after prob a lull in output or RU-vid algorithm ? Anyway v glad to watch your stuff. Coupla quick questions: Will you be starting your business clientele from scratch at the new home? Cairns? Are you planning a shift in work focus at all with larger workshop? Know your busy but all the very best to you and family.
Glad you found the channel again Lee. I have zero client base presently so starting something up north will be the plan. We'll have to see how it goes but I'll have a lot more workspace to get projects done. Thanks and all the best to you and yours also!
some great memories of the last 6 months. keep up the good work and look forward to more projects on the land. whats the plan for the homestead on the acerage?
Thanks Steven! We will build a smaller cottage first and try and learn more about the land and the weather etc. That will help use decide where to put the house perhaps in a few years.
We bought a property near the forest to do the same. we have 2 boys but cannot relocate yet due to their schooling. hope to be there someday. meanwhile we continue to develop the land slowly. like adding a well, adding storage shed etc... The feeling is amazing... the hope to escape it all. Not that we don't have everything (paid up bunglow, cars etc), but the forest is lovely and the city is not.PS: I sleep in my car, when im there because of the leopards, sloth bears, jackals and hyenas ;-)
There is something that is very soothing living in nature but we understand that it is difficult when you are raising children. We had the same situation, except we do not have Leopards, Hyenas etc to worry about :) All the best!
Great window into all the new land chores, Scott! Particularly interesting as we're under contract on our retirement property (my wife will retire, I never will of course). With all that tall grass my mind instantly freaks out about chiggers, which I think you may call scrub-itch mites. Are they prevalent there? They're terrible here in rural areas. All the best, Andrew
G'day Andrew! I know what you mean about retirement. It's not happening for me also. Yes we get Miggies, probably similar, but only for a few months in the wet season. Horse flies are around also, rotten things. However for most of the year we are bug free and it completely changes with the rains. Catch you next time and thanks again!
I filmed only part of that build and lost interest (in the filming). My dimensions may not suit you. Make it so when you stand up on it you can reach the peak. Make it stable so it doesn't rock from side to side. A top hand and foot rail help a lot with safety. I made mine to fit into my trailer also, you may not need to.
Legend Scott. If you and the Bond Girl (Mrs T) need a place to stay on the Sunshine Coast anytime, let me know 36 Gattera Road, Landsboroug QLD 4550. Cheers, Sean.
How do you find that floor paint? Looking for something to paint the floor in my new shed. Also curious what etcher/cleaner you used to prep the concrete
It's not top end two pack paint (harder), but for the price I think it's pretty good. Time will tell I guess. I used the cleaner recommended for the Berger paint system plus a scrubbing broom and pressure cleaner.
@@ScottTurnerformeindustrious I’m pretty sure it is, I’ve been a subscriber for a while and it was only in this video I picked up on a few mannerisms that got me to thinking, maybe that’s the Scotty Turner I knew in a different life time. Well there you go, good to see you, you haven’t changed much. Love your work, very impressive.
