Did you have a followup on the reason the deck wouldn't stay running? Having the same problem. Gone over the deck, and now I'm going to try different size belts.
@@TheFixitShed Thanks. Looking forward to what you find out. The info you just gave about the belt might be rubbing on something, I'll keep an eye out. First thing I've done is get the 109 inch belt in a 5/8 instead of the 1/2 inch. Although the belt I have was the one in the parts list for it, it sets all the way down in the pullies. Waiting for the 5/8 to come in. If it works I'll let you know, but I've a feeling I'm going to have to keep looking.
Thanks for the tips! What manual are you looking at? I was told years ago to tighten 1 turn for all oil filters, so maybe that is out of date. I don't think I was able to tighten it that much anyway. I think it only went a little past 1/2 turn, probably not even 3/4.
