I thought this adaptation was absolutely spot-on - the chemistry between Foy and Coyle was amazing. The only gripe was that the character of Ridcully wasn't really played with enough warmth and humour; I thought Joss Ackland's portrayal in The Hogfather was a lot more jolly and fun, Timothy West was much too dour and severe.
You can say what you want: Richard Coyle IS Moist of Lipwick!!! His smile, his eyes, his face, all of him says: Maybe I'm a conman,but.... trust me ! So Richard: Dont let me detain you and go for: "Making Money", please !!!
"But as soon as he stepped out of the carriage we knew it was going to be fine" - no, for me, it was the moment Charles Dance opened his mouth and Vetinari's voice came out. For me, I can't see Vetinari with black hair anymore. He's got Dance's reddish-blonde.
I agree! I've been saying Richard Coyle would be awesome ever since I heard Matt Smith will be leaving. He's also worked with Steven Moffat before, so there would be some familiarity there as well.
I just remembered, in the show "coupling", didn't he as Jeff had a scene where he would describe himself having written "moist" over and over on a sheet of papre and rubbing it all over his face as a teenager?
Richard Coyle is a great actor, and I look forward to watching his work for a long time to come. He is truly gifted and will someday, not far off, become a major player in the industry. cleopat8850
@karmagirl314: *lol* Yeah, because Vetinari is all about hair colour, not about being a brilliant character with certain mannerisms, great charisma, quite manace and biting sarcasm.
