When i first started fishing that lake the fishing was great. It has deteriorated over the years but i think that's every where. Love it down there. Cheers.

The season is officially underway when you're back at Waterville and cooking in your tyre! I'm definitely going to steal your 'fried egg in holy bread' recipe. However I'll cut the hole out of the bread just for a bit of etiquette!🤣 That water looked freezing. It looks like you had a great time though. I'm going to try and get out this week. It's a bit 'needle in a haystack' fishing at the moment, but you have to be in the haystack to find the needle! I'm not going to get one sitting by the fire on my day off! Your videos always prove that fishing isn't all about catching fish. You always seem to just love being in such a stunning surroundings. All the best my friend.
The secret to being a great fisherman is that you enjoy your day even if you catch nothing. That's what I always say. Thanks for your hilarious comment. My mother always made me the egg like that cutting the hole with a cup or glass, and the round piece of bread would also go onto the pan. But when you're camping, you improvise. Food never tastes as nice as food cooked in the tyre. LOL.

Your days where you don't catch any fish are better than many of mine where I do. At least you got to fight one. Great lunch you had. I am going to have to try that. I love runny eggs. I'd use HP but not ketchup. Although our HP has the same amount of sugar as ketchup. 👍
Thanks for the great comment. My most enjoyable day fishing last year is in a video where I climb a mountain and fall asleep up there with only a bottle of water with me. Catching a fish is great, but it's not the end all be all.

Then, at 4:04 I think I've got it - must be the week of intravenous antibiotics for tetanus... but, no. *Then,* finally - you have to wait for the very end of the video, when that trout gets away (don't worry Vincent, there's a visual record, there's nobody can deny *you had it!* ) at 12:50, I finally understood _the passion,_ why the inland lakes and rivers of the British Isles have created more fishing widows than dropping pots for King Crab in the tempestuous Arctic waters of Alaska's Bering Sea has... You've got to wait for the 12:50 mark to see it but there it is. You are a wise wise man. It's funny I didn't see a fish rise all day. The water was freezing. My friend the shy man told me there were brown trout rising all around, lough currane the same day he said there were millions of duck fly hatching all over the lake and trout rising to them. The next day, I went fishing with the shy man on lough currane it's my next video. There were millions of duck fly and fish rising as he said, but we concentrated on the salmon. @@Vincentdonnelly5158 So lets think for a while...migratery fish whose smolts would eagerly take a wee brown trout. Like you a bit of substance for the journey... but we know the smolts are not in 80's proportion. So why are there so few brownies ? I have walked the shore continually casting small flies , and caught two a cast... little eager fish. They are not there. Could there be problems draining into the lake? Cant blame the mink farm now, lololol😥

It's amazing nothing happening on the lake all day but down on lough currane there were millions of duck fly hatching and trout rising everywhere the same day and the next day i was down fishing lough currane for salmon and seen the great hatches of flies.
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. It's very little sea fishing I do. Years ago, the cod fishing was great in Ireland, and I used fish all during the winter months for them. But the cod fishing has got very bad, and I don't bother any more. Maybe this year, I will do some bass fishing during the summer. Just watch this space. Cheers.
