You could always put Jack or Sunny in the office until they're a little older and put the office downstairs so they're both close to the master bedroom. Just a thought

I see a lot of comments saying to put the office downstairs and leave Sunny in the same floor that everyone, and I completely agree: 1. Everyone stays together 2. Your office will be on a quiet space, which is better to focus and getting things done 3. You won't need to go downstairs to help Sunny if she starts to cry 4. Sunny won't be left alone downstairs 5. I'm sure Jack will like the downstairs room after growing up and when the time comes, you can arrange everything accordingly to the necessities at the time please rethink!

I agree with the option of putting the office downstairs until the kids are older, plus you might enjoy the quiet that having the office on a separate floor provides (less distractions/better focus)

My brother and I shared a bedroom (twin beds) growing up until we were 7 and 5. I think that’s why I love him so much to this day. We are now 66 and 64. I helped him calm down when chickens chased him in his sleep at least 3 days a week and he helped me shoo away an old hag who drove an old truck in front of our home exactly when we were supposed to be asleep ❤ We read each other books and I taught him to write his name and how to do the twist! We always got sick at exactly the same time so that helped our mom just stay in one large bedroom. Please put the little ones together! It also makes a child calmer and happier. ❤💙

Same we had bunk beds and we shared our room till I was 8 and he was 6. We were super close growing up. Unfortunately he went into the Air Force, went to war, came home and was diagnosed with PTSD. He took his life last yr. I feel so lost without him and I feel like half of my self is gone. They say it's gets better, but they lie, the grief only gets worse. The questions of what if go through your head. He called me 42xs that nite. The ONE nite I had my ringer off, so I have struggled alot with that.

Although I agree that I wouldn’t want my young child in the basement because water and things can collect in basements, I’m not opposed to having children’s bedrooms on a different floor. My daughter’s bedroom is upstairs. Not only is her room right above ours, the stairs are right outside our door and we can hear her anywhere in the house. But, we also have a baby monitor. Our kiddo has been in her own room, upstairs, since she was 7m and she’s almost 3. She’s done fine.

Plus when she is even a bit older, around 5 - and wakes up it could be scary for her to try and navigate the house in the dark/at night to get up to the parents rooms. It would make more sense for the kids to share a bedroom until they're older and then Jack would likely want to be downstairs when he gets to be 11/12/13 years old. He'd probably think it was cool at that age and ready to have his own space and then Sunny - being younger - would still be close to her parents at night

Another vote for the office to be downstairs with big storage for your business! The room you were planning to use for the office on the main floor isn't small anyway. Then the family is all on one floor, and then you can work and have guests in the quiet area.

I'm so sorry for your loss of your grandfather. Even when it's expected, it's hard. IMO - you should put the two children in the same room for a couple years. I did that with my son and daughter and they were so cozy and became much closer than they would have otherwise. It only lasted for the first few years, but it was a great foundation for them. They are both too young now to have one in the basement alone! In a few years Jack will be begging for that downstairs room and will be ready for it.

Great advice Sara!!! Children are not like dolls. You don’t just lay them down to sleep and it goes smoothly. You don’t just feed them and everything sits well with them. You don’t just pay them on their back and they stop crying. No sometimes they cry for hours, have food sensitivities which cause crying, explosive diarrhea and you don’t sleep. I didn’t sleep for 4 YEARS!!! My oldest just wouldn’t sleep through the night until he was four. It was tough. I shed many tears. But you should be in a committed relationship with the person that obviously loves his/her children and have the same goals.

Please do not put one of the little ones in the basement. They both need to be on the same floor as their parents. They are both too small to be alone at night.

So sorry about your grandfather 🙏 Jack- "I want more 'please' dad" 😉 Absolutely no intention to offend but too many kids aren't taught basic manners these days. I'm only going off this video, maybe he does say please, thank you, excuse me etc. When my kids were young, if they didn't say please I pretended I didn't hear them. When they realised I was obviously pretending to not hear them they'd "get it" quickly then say "...please mum", to which I'd respond, haha! They have their own kids now & have taught their kids the manners I taught them

Always consider fire escapes when you assign where people play, sleep, eat. Consider where kitchen is, water heater etc and have escape routes that are easy.

I would give Sunny the office upstairs and you take her room downstairs as your office once its finished? I feel like because both of them are so little right now, you're going to end up feeling really on edge with either one of them on a different floor than everybody else. Just my "mom" opinion. Beautiful house though 😊

Oh my! So sorry for the loss of your Grandfather. I lost my last grandfather in 1980 and my last Granny in 1993. My heart, soul and Spirit miss them all. Congratulations on the new house. That is awesome! Personally, I would put Sunny in the office and office down stairs until Jack is older. By the time he is 12 to 13 he will want his own space away from mom and dad. God Bless y'all. ✝️ The light at the next season in that tunnel is Glorious.

So sorry for your loss. your new home is going to be awesome. It must be quite a big change for Jack going from the warm beach to colder weather and lots of grass, but he is little and he will adjust quickly. Sunny is so very sweet! Wishing you all the best in your new home.

You have 2 exact same bedrooms for the kids upstairs, leave the office downstairs. It doesn’t look healthy to leave a kid so separated from the rest of the family. Is a dark and far room, doesn’t seems fair :(

As someone who who had 3 kids in 2 years 9 months (all without drugs, it was insane, don’t ask), you’ll survive. And thrive. So will the kids. Love and security and comfort is all they need at this stage. It gets more complicated later, but it’s always worth it❤

Awww Derik, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Grandpa. 🫂 The house is going to be awesome! I saw that someone suggested putting Sunny in the office for now and I agree. You're awesome parents and I think it would stress you both out to have her so far away from your bedroom. As for her messed up sleep schedule, she'll settle when you can get her in a bit of a routine. She's been traveling and that's hard for anyone but babies need some routine. Especially for sleep time. She'll adjust. But OMG she's so beautiful!!! I was like, when did Jack start talking so well?! He's getting so big! I'm with you Jack buddy, I don't like those "bees" either 😮. Take some downtime to get your rhythm back, life is hard enough without being tired and scattered. God Bless ❤

Welcome back to Utah, we have had a gloomy winter and yes this too will pass its just been long. I noticed how well Jack is taking command of the English language, you guys are really good at communicating with him, and it is paying off. I vote for Sunny to be upstairs as well, I know because I live in Utah (came from California years ago) that is common for kids to be in downstairs bedrooms but you do have a choice and Sunny upstairs is a good idea. I thought it was funny when Sarah said, "Wet and Wild" the water park? Awe Sarah, you are missing the ocean, bless your heart, I know your family will have both in your life
