I went to the concert Immanuel, had the time of my life! Myles Kennedy, Slash, Todd and Brent blew the place apart🤗🎩🤘🏽thank you! So much!! I wouldn't have done it if I didn't watch your video, thank you so much, Slash (Saul Hudson) is my idol! Means so much to me, thank you! I did it!!!🤗🎉🎉🎉
Went to two concerts by myself this past year and going alone again to see Travis $cott. I struggled with friendships my entire life, so I learned to do things alone. You realize that you're truly not alone when you go to concerts simply because people will naturally draw to you when they see you having a good time.
Adaora, exactly! I'm glad you learned that you can do things alone and still have an awesome time! Travis Scott? You're about to have a lot of fun! Let me know how it goes okay?
Adaora N. I literally came to this video because I wanted to see Travis Scott November 13th alone 😅💟 and was super anxious ! But this comment and video was a sign to just do it and go 🤗
Universal Phoenix Yeah honestly, nobody’s paying attention to you when you go alone. Once the concert starts, it’s mainly dark for majority of the time. Make sure your phone is fully charged, so you can record your favorite parts of the concert. Have fun!!!
I spent the past two weeks looking for someone to go to Childish Gambino with me and everybody had an excuse not to go. Needless to say, at 11pm at night, I bought a ticket to go see him by myself! I'm both scared and anxious but thanks to your video, I'm going to try my best to make it memorable. Thank you Immanuel :)
Colin! I'm so happy for you! Childish Gambino? You're gonna be having so much fun:] I'm glad I helped encourage you to by that ticket. Life is too short to not enjoy things... just because we're doing it by ourselves. You're doing something A LOT of people are scared to do. I'm truly happy for you:] Let me know how it goes!
@@DepressionTalks1 Hey Immanuel, here's a super late update of how things went. I went to the concert and though the opening act wasn't to my liking I sat and waited for Gambino to come out. Now my seat was in the middle of a row where nobody was sitting so I more or less danced by myself. I kept my phone in my pocket for most of the show and managed to still enjoy myself despite not being with anybody. Everybody was dancing and that made it easier to get into the groove of things. I even bought myself a t-shirt ! All in all, it wasn't as bad as I thought :)
@@colinmilne1006 That is seriously awesome to hear! I knew you were going to have a good time. I'm really proud of you Colin! I mean that:] Here's to more concerts and more fun!
I went to two concerts alone so far and honestly i did feel quite awkward, when i was waiting in line and inside the venue. However as soon as the artist came on stage, the surroundings don't matter. It's just the band, who matters. Even tho i'm still feeling really nervous about going alone and even traveling to concerts alone. It's all so worth it and helps me with dealing with my anxiety
I'm glad you realized how it's still all worth it! It is awkward at first, but like you said, as soon as the artist comes out... nothing else matter but enjoying them:] Proud of you!
not only am i going to a concert alone, but i’m going to a different country alone! bought ONE ticket to see Swedish House Mafia in Stockholm, Sweden next may! i’m going to be staying in a dorm with 6 strangers, and in a different country all alone. i’m so nervous, and so excited!
Your personality really shines, you are totally someone I would want to hang out with! Nice video, I'm think about going to a Post Malone concert, none of my friends would want to pay the ticket, because it's quite expensive and also aren't into him as much as me.. so if I can't find anyone i'm going alone!
Thank you:] PLEASE go see Post Malone. That dude's personality and talent is out of this world! You'll have so much fun! You better go:] You got this Aztec!!
Came here for some courage, and I got it. JUST BOUGHT A TICKET TO MY FIRST CONCERT BY MYSELF! It's one of my favourite bands! I'm low key terrified of going alone, but looking forward to an epic night!
I need too I was afraid because I didn't want people laughing at me but my friends never gave any money and sometime never like the groups I like so I always feel left out and sad when I don't go... its time I start doing stuff I love even if it's alone.
I been to my favourite artist alone Sting non of my friends are into him... I don't care I simply vibe out to the music alone with my eyes closed feels like I'm ths only one there... If someone talks to me great if not no problem before the show starts I head to a higher vantage and people watch with a drink I normally get approached by someone who's come alone also...
Thanks bro I needed this. This page is super important. Mental health isn’t talked about enough in general and even more specifically in the black community and even more specifically as a black male keep doing what you doing bro
You really broke it down and spoke facts! So true man. I'm glad to be talking about mental health and showing others they are not alone. Appreciate your comment man!
I’m going to a concert by myself for the first time on Wednesday and I’m so anxious about it! They’re quite a big band so I’m scared about waiting in the line outside for a while by myself and I’m so anxious about standing in the big crowd completely crammed in as well. Im so scared I’m going to have a panic attack but I hope my experience is as good as yours!! Great video :))
Izzy, you got this alright! Yes, it will be a bit awkward because you've never done something like this before. But it's always worth it because you're seeing a band you really like! So have fun and let me know how it goes okay?
Being a natural introvert, I got a ticket to see Plain White Ts tomorrow evening and im excited but nervous. But I know that there should be no regrets. And im 30. Tried reaching out to other friends though but theyre busy
Dude thank you!!! The fact you said about if you do it and absolutely hate it, you never have to do it again, really stuck out to me. Kendrick Lamar is my favorite artist and I’ve never seen him live. I moved to chicago a couple years ago and really haven’t made friends like that but i decided after this video idc and I’m buying the tickets!!! Hope you’re having a good day and find joy today!
I go to like at least 1 show at a week of local punk/metal bands in my city, and obviously when bigger bands come to my country i go as well i love going to concerts so much and 90% of the times i go by myself and I like so much more than going with a friend or something
I reaaaally needed this today ❤ I’m having last minute anxiety about seeing Death Grips by myself tonight and started convincing myself out of it because I have bad social anxiety. Thank you for the video!!!!
Yay! Ayyyye!! I’m so happy for you! It’s awesome to hear you had a great time at the concert, and you overcame your anxiety. You really did it! Woot woot😄👏🏾🎶
I’m about to go to a concert by myself tonight! Ahh! Im a little nervous, but I know I’ll survive the anxiety, and I’ll come out stronger because of this.
I can completely relate to this. Back in April of 2012, I saw Rammstein by myself. This is my all time favorite band that I would've dropped everything for and seen regardless, but I was still nervous about going on my own. The weather was actually pretty terrible with rain and wind, though that didn't seem to stop anyone (it was an indoor venue, but you wait outside). And like you, I actually met a few people in line and had conversations with them, even though I'm really not into talking to people I don't know. What helped was that we had something in common, that being a love for metal and Rammstein, and I can definitely open up on those topics. I had an amazing time and it remains one of the best moments of my life. So to anyone struggling with the idea of going to a concert on your own, DO IT. The memories you make and the fun you have will have will be WORTH IT. Don't let the fear of going alone get in the way of that.
Perfectly said man. I'm glad you enjoyed that concert and had an amazing time. So many others may miss out on a good time due to fear. It's good to see you did it!
Awesome story dude. I am seeing a BlackPink concert by myself and I feel the same way. The audience has a lot of younger crowds but I know a lot of adults go too. This may be their last tour together so I knew I had to go to their concert at least once before whatever happens next. Thank you for sharing your story. It helps me feel a lot better about it. Loving the positive vibes in this video!
It can be scary to work up the courage to go alone and it can be awkward sometimes but in the end it's worth it. After the concert is over you'll know it was worth it to go
I'm 26 and I've never been to a concert alone. Something I've been thinking about doing for a while. But after watching this I'm 100% going to a concert alone THIS YEAR!! Thanks for this video man! Much apreciated :)
I wanted to go see John Mayer last year but hesitated since I would go alone. Missed out on a great experience. Definitely going to many shows this year alone. I'm there for the music. Thank you for the help
I'm planning on going to Ultra Europe this year all by myself because none of my friends listen to electonic music and don't want to come with me. If I don't go alone I will never go and I just needed this video as a final push so thank you man! I'm buying the tickets ASAP
I’m new to your channel, but this video got me hype! I’m 33 and never been to a concert alone before but I spontaneously bought tickets to see the Band Camino in April and so everyone is busy. I’m planning for it to be a solo trip, but I’m nervous 😬 I really think that I will enjoy it eventually but yeah. I’m hoping to go for the solo experience and not chicken out
Thank you SO much for this video. I’m in my 50s and gave never been to a concert by myself for fear of what other people would think. Now I realize who the heck cares what they think! It my life. I need to live it.
You are so right! I went to concert by myself two months ago. I asked everyone I could think of to go, but they had other plans or didn’t care for the performer. I bought the ticket anyway determined to see this band. That day, I was torn between going and not going a hundred times! I finally decided I would drive to the concert and decide then if I would go in. It was a 2 hour drive! But I gave myself permission to change my mind once I got there if I wanted to, and settled in to just enjoy the drive. I stopped halfway and had a great meal. When I finally arrived and saw all the fans, I knew I was going in. Everyone looked so excited and happy. It was an easy decision. Like you, people started talking to me and I made “concert friends.” It’s easy to do since it’s a party atmosphere and you already know you have something in common: love of music, and in particular this band! It was surreal and so much fun. I kept thinking how glad I was that I made the decision to go in. If anyone out there is undecided, I encourage to go! If it all seems too overwhelming, take the first step and then give yourself permission to change your mind if you need to. But I promise you, the closer you get to the venue and walking in, the more likely it is that you’ll do it! Get out there and make some memories!!! 😃
Thanks man I’ve really been debating going to a 1975 concert alone because it’s not really my mates type of music but am really nervous but this definitely helps and I’m gonna order the tickets tomorrow.
aaAaa omgg same reason why i’m in this video😂 i wanna go to the 1975 concert as well since my friends are not really into that type of music and i am so fucking anxious
BROO !! That’s literally what I’m doing rn !! Ima end up going to kings of Leon, Catfish and The Bottlemen, and The 1975 alone cuz none of my friends are into that music lol
The exact thoughts I had before fully committing to going to a concert by myself. I just bought my ticket and am going to my first concert in a month from now, can’t wait! Thank you so much for the advice and insight!
I've bought a ticket to a concert thats on the 18th of Feb, and I have no one to go with, and all the other friends that I know that like that artist are going with somebody else. I've been annoyed, sad and angry with it. But I'm starting to realise that not many friends of mine like the stuff I like. So I'm going by my self and not giving a flying toss about anything. Thanks for this vid also cause it lifted my mood up :)
Glad I found this video! Gave me confidence and made me feel better about going alone! I’m going to a concert this weekend. Got a great deal in some awesome seats and couldn’t pass it up! I do alot of things alone. “Friends” are so fickle and I hate being on others time and not living my best life waiting on other people smh
Thank you for this. I’m going to watch this every time I’m about to go to a show. I was going to go to a smaller concert in my town and I walked up to the venue three times trying to find the confidence and I finally gave up and it broke my heart that I didn’t feel confident enough to go. Never again!
I’m gonna go to a kpop concert to see NCT 127 and I’m really nervous. Tbh I’ve struggled with making friends my whole life but this helps a lot. I was debating about not going because I couldn’t find anyone to go with me but I didn’t wanna regret never seeing them again because I really like them. Thanks for the vid! This helps a lot !
Ooo that sounds like fun Jenny! I think you could meet some more people at this concert. You never know unless you try right? So it's awesome that you're going:] Glad this helps!
I be been to many concerts by myself. It’s quite the nerve racking experience but just relax and enjoy the show and you’ll be okay. 4 concerts to be exact
Your enthusiasm is absolutely infectious! ❤ I’m going to see my favourite band on my own in a few days. Two trains, eating out and a hotel stay all on my own. It’s way above my comfort zone but I’m doing it!! Edit - I did it! had an amazing time and made lovely new friends!
Welp. Going to see Mumford & Sons solo tonight. Won two tickets the day before and EVERYONE is busy or doesn't want to go. THANK YOU for your video, it gave me the final push I needed. This band has been on my bucket list for 10 years.
I’m going to a Tyler the creator concert alone and I’m sooo nervous. The part that is making me anxious is the whole standing in line alone part and I’m on the balcony which is a sitting spot. I’m just going to try to block out my anxiety and have a good time!
Ayye that's awesome! It's going to be so much fun:] Block out that anxiety, and just do your best to be in the moment and enjoy yourself. Let me know how it goes Cristina!
This video motivated me to go to a Florence + The Machine concert in LA by myself back in April. Now, I’m seeing The 1975 by myself in 10 days. Everyone should experience going to at least one concert alone!
I dont quite go to concerts by myself, but I go to techno clubs by myself ALL the time. It's been great for my anxiety. I dont care about the judgment I get. Props you you. Subbed.
That's great! I have only ever been to a Fred Hammond Concert and I didn't go alone. But when I first moved up to Northern VA I have no friends here, the movie "Book of Eli" came out and I wanted to see it. I had met a girl that I was going to take and she backed out the last min.. so I fought with myself about it and just went alone. (I do not hear of anyone going to a movie alone) I totally enjoyed being able to take in the movie with no distractions. Not only that but I took away a message from the movie that I needed, if she had been there I would have totally missed it. (By the way, I never went out with her LOL). Its hard but you never know what you could be missing by not doing some things alone. Even if your popular, friends can add to, but can also possibly distract from the great experience you could have. Thanks for sharing bro!
Haha you never went out with her huh? It's good you went to that movie alone! I feel like there is a big stigma on not doing things alone. It holds us back from the possibility of having a great experience! Keep on growing and doing you man!
i bought tickets to see sam fender at a festival in july and im PETRIFIED. i know im gonna camp outside the venue to try and get barrier but just the idea of being on my own for like 17 hours is just really daunting sjakaks. this video really helped though. what a legend.
I apologize for any mistake, english is not my first language but I wanted to share my experience!. I watched this video back in feb when I was thinking of buying tickets for a concert, and I was reeeeally nervous about going alone. Your words gave me courage and I did it!! Today I went to the concert, and it was AWESOME. I had anxiety before going to the venue, but I had the tickets and a back-up "survival" plan in case I didn't feel good (plan of how to get to the place and back, locating exits and bathrooms, full phone battery so I could chat or watch videos, my nintendo 3ds to play while I waited, a candy for sugar drops...) I waited in line for about an hour, and then inside the venue for 2 1/2, and I previously thought I was going to feel miserable, but nah! I managed, talked with a few people who also were by themselves, played a bit of mario kart, and the time went by quickly! I was focused in not being self conscious and just be patient because it was worth it... And oh boy it was! When the music started I just felt the rythm and danced, shouted and sing along (and I never ever have done that, even with my close friends) it was liberating and fun just to "be" there, which is very difficult for someone who spends a lot of time on their head. Thank you for your words! I hope this video reaches and encourages more people to have fun on their own, and to not be afraid of experiencing new things. Don't miss out guys and gals! Buy those tickets and go enjoy the concert!!!
I just recently went to a Twenty One Pilots concert alone!! I don’t have friends that are into them but always wanted to see them live so i went on my own. Beat decision I’ve ever made no regrets and i sang to the top of my lungs!!!! Worry about yourself and how you feel not about being judged!
The last hour I’ve been wanting to buy tickets as I’m gonna be going alone, I choose tickets and then cancel the order cause I’m anxious of going alone, but I really want to see them. This gave me the confidence to buy these tickets. I’m gonna watch this again before I go to subside the anxiousness again. I know I’m 5 years late to the video but its still having an impact so thank you!
I went to two festivals this summer solo, and although it was scary at first, I ended up having the best time! I met so many open minded and lovely people, granted it was a hippie festival(; I highly recommend, you can't sit around waiting for people to do everything with you, if it feels right go and do it!
Nice! I saw him before and he's definitely talented. You're going to have a great time! It's awesome you'll have this experience. Proud of you Kenneth!
A few weeks ago I went by myself to see J Cole live (in NYC) for his KOD concert. Sooo, glad I went!! Everyone was coming up with all these lame excuses, so I just went by myself. I met this really nice couple next to me, and it felt amazing to be surrounded by people who love J Coles music too. Definitely would recommend going to a concert you've been, dying to go to :) Best night of my life!!!
That is so awesome you went! You did something a lot of people are afraid of doing, and you got to get the rewards from it! I'm proud of you:] I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! Woot woot!
Thank you so much for posting and sharing your story. I'm inspired and going to my first show ALONE, in September. I just decided...I'm tired of passing up on experiences I know I want to have out of fear and anxiety of being alone socially. This was encouraging to say the least, so thanks. God bless you!
I'm going to a concert next week and it is in another city. I'm gonna be flying there all by myself. And your video has helped me relax a little coz been getting anxious about it. Been doubting my decision to fly there and go to the concert alone. haha! thanks for the tips and encouragement, Immanuel:) I will surely have the best time of my life.
I went to a Tame Impala's concert 2 years ago by myself, the reason why I went alone it was because a lot of my friends had no money at the time to spend on tickets, so with the money I saved for months I bought my tickets. I was alone and I didn't even care, I was singing alone, dancing, just enjoying the life, and I have no regrets, it was a cool night. 😎
I love that this is the first video that popped up when I searched “going to a concert alone”😂😂 Thanks for making this! Bc I’m finna go to a concert alone lol
I'm going to a classical concert alone because none of my friends like that kind of music. I'm so nervous, because I'll be surrounded by older people in formal attire. I really hope I don't chicken out at the last minute 😫
Flying to Boston Calling by myself. My first festival. I'm older, like "Mom" older. But I love the Foo Fighters and I just can't miss them. I am self conscious about the by myself thing, but went to an arena concert by myself and ended up chatting with the girls standing next to me and had a great time. They ended up walking me through the songs I didn't know. I had a lot of fun.
Such a great personality! Ur vibe &‘ words are shining! I‘m going tomorrow to FKA twigs by myself. I‘m so happy to see her, such a pure soul she has. Love from switzerland
Thank you for posting this! I needed to hear this! I am trying to get out there and experience life, so it’s good to see some positivity for those of us who don’t have the opportunity to go to concerts with others. I am still a little nervous but I know it will be worth it!
your video gave me the final push to go yesterday. Had an awesome evening, started talking to a guy even before entering the venue and then was asked to join a group of people. Didn't even check my phone ;-). JUST GO don't doubt too long once you start overthinking you will miss out on a great evening!
Thanks for this video.. I'm going to my first concert alone this coming November.. Maroon 5.. Not my favorite band but I love some of their songs. I'm so excited nervous and anxious but hoping to experience good memories
i’m going to a concert tomorrow at a huge arena in my state capital alone and i am extremely anxious 😕 your video has helped me realize that i’ll be ok. thank you
I know this is 4 years old but I thought maybe you’d still like to know I suffer from anxiety and depression, but I’m battling it today by going to a Rosalia concert by myself!!!
This made me smile the WHOLE time!!! I’m so happy for you that you got to experience that! It sounds like you were very much so in the momento😉 That’s so cool that you were able to make friends. We have friends everywhere...we just haven’t met them all yet (:
I’m thinking of going to boots in the park by myself since I’m the only person out of my family and friends who likes country music. I hope I muster up the guts to go myself
Damn this Video was great! Im going alone to a concert later and definetly feel better now :) Ive done it several times before but its always scary again and I wanna add two personal things which could be very important for others: 1. Alcohol! Be careful to not use it as an escape from anxiety/fear! In one instance I had way too much because it gave me something to do (like the phone) and i felt less akward with a cup in hand than just standing around. My way back home was pure hell because I lost control and was extremly fatigued, down and in a very depressed mood. So be careful and stay comfortable (1-2 Beers, if a all or something like that). 2. Nutrition. Eat good before, drink water and maybe take some snacks with you. At a different concert I was just so tired, even before, and had noone to lean onto. I had no alcohol but I actually fell asleep sitting down whilst waiting for the band and a security guard came and checked up on me. Concert was fine with adrenaline but the way home was rly bad again 😴 If nobody reads this: I still nicely reflected on my experiences for tonight :)
Thank you so much for this video.... I went to 2 concerts by myself and I had a blast.. the first concert I went by myself was in September of 2017 Luis fonsi aka The Despacito guy came to Connecticut and he is my favorite singer of all times and I was not about to pass that opportunity to go to his concert and see him I had a meet and greet with him and also I was in front row, and the girls that were next to me they talked to me the whole concert so it was not awkward at all and again I had a blast...... The 2nd concert I went by myself was in December of 2017 when backstreet boys ( they are my favorite boy band )… They came to Connecticut as well and I also had a blast the girls next to me and the girls behind me they were talking to me the whole time and everybody was jumping up and down dancing screaming and it was the best experience ever.... So people if you thinking about going to a concert by yourself because none of your friends are into that group or that singer just do it you will regret it if you don't do it......
You're welcome Denise! I'm glad you went to 2 concerts and had a good time. Thank you for sharing your words of encouragement for others too. You're awesome for doing that:]
@@DepressionTalks1 you welcome , I just wanted to share my story so people can take the courage of not passing an amazing opportunity.... Thank you You are awesome too.... ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Im pretty old and I have problems going to things by myself. You assume that the people at the concert will think you are weird going alone. Most of the time people are too concerned about whats going on in their heads to be worried about whats going with you. It will definetely make you stronger. You might have conversations with people that you wouldn't have met if you stayed at home. You'll meet people who like that performer as well. Give yourself a big pat on the back! !!
Watching this video as things are starting to open back up. I'm going to a concert alone in a few months because none of my friends have similar music tastes as me. I was nervous because it's a small one with less than 250 people and afraid of being judged with less people in the crowd and thought I would stand out more, but after watching this video, I realized that I shouldn't care about what others think, plus I really like this band and I could make friends there anyway! Thank you so much for this video, it really helped me!
That’s what I’m taking about Jireh! Go to that concert lol. It’s hard sometimes going and enjoying things by ourselves, but it doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Plus, we grow so much in those situations, and learn more about ourselves in the process. I hope you enjoy the band you’re seeing! You’re awesome for putting your interests and passions first😄👍🏾
