@@controversyqueen8951 you know what? Jake Wright who is a compsci graduate from cambridge got A*'s in maths ,further maths, physics and computer science at A level.he is also a youtuber.go and check his channel
On the day of my last A-levels I was feeling extremely nauseous and my stomach hurt like as if someone had stabbed me repeatedly. At first I thought it was just the nerves but it progressively got worse as my exams went on. After I left the exam hall, I immediately rang up my mum because of a high fever and long story short I was diagnosed with appendicitis. I thought I had completely bombed my examinations, but thank the heavens I didn't. I then, later went on to study mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge so I guess we both had a roller coaster of a ride. Good luck!!!
Everything happens for a reason! A lot of people are disheartened about not getting into Cambridge. I applied for Law, was pooled and then rejected. I still managed to get 3A* and an A at A-level, ending up in Durham! I graduated from there with a First Class Honours Degree! I then decided to go into teaching and ended up studying at Cambridge Uni for my PGCE. Funny how things work out! xxx
Hey I am planning to go into the law career and I was hoping you can give me some advice please.. I would really appreciate it… which subjects did you take for a levels? what do I have to do to get into a nice uni for law?
@@hibaahmed7001 you don't need any specific subjects, however history and law transfer well into the degree however a lot of unis want a clean slate in terms of law experience. To get into a top uni for law you basically need A*AA. However law is different to a lot of other fields of work as it can be dependent on where you did your placements and internships throughout your degree and if you were in contact with a law firm.
Congratulations! I had the exact same feeling as yours after my chemistry A2 and was hoping for the worst like getting a B but luckily on the result day I saw that my percentage had dropped by 1% from my AS results and got an A! I was so relieved.
wow, after watching your last video (reacting to first vlog in Cambridge) came here and watched this. I didn't know the story behind. this is emotional even for me 🥰 and I gotta say, it might be the best decision you made to document the years you had at Cambridge :)
As a pensioner, it's great to know that young people like yourself are so level-headed. You are also a very sweet young lady. I wish you well in your studies, and in your future. By the way, so typical of a woman to be concerned about possible damage to her make-up!!
I am 14 years old and still in high school. I am Peruvian but studding the international baccalaureate . I have got my eye in Oxford for a while now to study political sciences. Your channel has been a great help to understand all the process better and start preparing. Honestly you are a wonderful inspiration and I wish you the most success because you just work so hard and you are so authentic . I hope one day I am able to get into Oxford just as you got into Cambridge
I’m watching so many alevel results videos as I’m going to get mine in August, this video was sooooo intriguing to watch and listen to. Well done you! I hope you’ve enjoyed your first year at Cambridge! Xxx
Good for you. We (the parents) went through this with our daughter. The last 2 years (in a French Lycee) were very high stress, though she surpassed her offer. Just wait until your course starts! It's harder to get out than to get in.
Bonjouur! I know you might be French but just in case, I’ll write everything in English . I’m in a French HS right now and I’m a bit interested in Cambridge Would you mind telling me more about how your daughter managed to get into Cambridge, if she applied for a peculiar scholarship and more info about her major and everything she did? I’m in Terminale right now so it might be way too late but considering I am still only 15yo studying anywhere apart from France seems quite hard for my parents for the moment so I wouldn’t mind trying out things next year and try to get in the year after. However going in prepa or anything of the sort isn’t really appealing to me.
That's absolutely amazing, well done on your hard work and results! Really good story telling, would be great if you could continue making some videos of your experience on studying at Cambridge! Xx
Wow just realised I actually saw ur channel when it first came out and CAN'T BELIEVE THIS VIDOE WAS FROM 2017 !!! TIME FLIES !!!!😱😱😱😱😱 Wow now look at u enjoying Cambridge to the max !! Congratulations!
Wow well done! Just found your channel and I love it! I am one year younger than you and got my results in this August! Also we went to the same high school😂
@@risingstars3478 yes it is? The A* is better than a strong A, but she only got one A* and a mid A. This isn't as consistent as two strong A's, and from an enrollment perspective, you'd prefer a more consistent high achiever than a lower achiever, with the possibility of higher grades.
Congrats! I'm very jealous you got into Cambridge. I was rejected after interviews unfortunately, and in the feedback it said the college I applied to took on about 5 instead of their usual 15 for some bizarre reason and basically said I would have gotten in if they were accepting 15 which sucks, as I'm like you in thinking that it was completely perfect for me and would be a perfect place to study! But - I'm going off to study physical natural sciences at Durham! I got 3A*s and an A in maths, chemistry, physics & further maths respectively. Will be following your journey and thinking about what it would be like to go there, although I'm sure I'm going to love it at Durham too. Just out of interest, which college in Durham were you allocated to? 😁
Ellie Weasley ah thank you! Congrats on your grades too, you did amazing! Sounds like Cambridge have slipped up (but I'm sure you'll love Durham, it had a really nice feel to it when I looked round - I applied to grey college cos it was closest to the science labs!)
PaigeY thanks!! i think they did haha. Ah right! I had a look around grey too! I'm going to Trevelyan which is just a few minutes away from grey - I didn't like the huge hill I had to walk up to get to grey so went with the next closest xD
I'm similar! I got rejected by Cambridge for bio natsci after interview (don't blame them, I was a nervous wreck aha), ended up getting 3A* in biology, chemistry and maths and I'm off to durham now too!
Congrats on your grades by the way they're amazing! Sorry meant to say that in my last reply! Yeah I think they are :) I originally applied for Natsci at durham but around easter I decided I hated organic chemistry (even though I love inorganic but it didn't make much sense to study biology and inorganic chemistry aha) so I asked them to switch me to straight biology in the end :) Im going to Hatfield!
Congrats on making it!!!! I was wondering, is it much harder for international students to get in compared to British students? Because I plan on taking the same four subjects but I have a feeling even getting four A*s wouldn't be enough.
please please please do a revision video on how to prepare for exams. I"m sitting my mocks in November and my GCSE'S next year and i'm really battling to find a study method.
Hello Paige, I always dreamt of going to Cambridge University but now I feel that I'd prefer to go to Nottingham Trent University . I am hoping that you could share your opinion and I would like to know why you took natural sciences in the first place. Atm, I am doing my As levels. Your opinion will certainly help me a lot, 😄
Watching this in 2020, terrified and anxious about getting my results in a matter of hours. Covid-19 has made it so much more scary. Hopefully we get in to firm choices this year!!!
OMG I have nearly the exact same story!I got 1A* and 3A for Alevels and missed my Imperial offer, and same as u my UCAS updated first for the insurance choice but I actually waited for an hour then the letter from Imperial came through saying I got in it was such a roller coaster!
right I’m commenting to come back to this afterwards. I’m 13 currently and in year 9 but Cambridge has been my dream since I was 11. I have 4 years until my A levels exams and I really really hope to get a good score. I’ll come back if I remember this and update lol
OneMill A-levels take two years. This person commented that they would be doing their A-levels next year and that was when they were in year 11 then. So they are still doing their A-levels and haven’t reached the stage of university yet.
I’m in Year 8 currently but it has always been my dream to go to Cambridge. At Easter I went there and I really do have my heart set on it! I want to study history and I am predicted a grade 9 (grade a*/a**) however it will be considered again next November 😬😬 your are an amazing inspiration!!
Omg this is brilliant, I'm in year 13 doing the same subjects hoping to do the same course but at Churchill college! If you could do a video on how to write a personal statement it would be much appreciated because the deadline is in 3 weeks and mine is awful atm :/
Sorry for delayed reply, just put personal statements video up! I'm sure your personal statement is excellent as it is though haha, good luck with your application and A2 year!
I'm legit 5mins in and I'm already so so in love with your channel omg ahaha. I'd love to go to Cambridge but it is quite pricy for international students (I'm from New York) and I'm not sure I'll get the grades agh
tbh im really worried cuz im from singapore so its gce a levels and its so competitive here and im dying. i really wanna go to cambridge but its gonna be tough :((
You'd actually be surprised about the remarks. I got one of my history papers remarked and the mark did not change. But a friend of mine went up to an A for maths after remarks!
Im in year 12 and ive just done my end of year exams for the same subjects as you. I didnt do as well as i hoped in further maths and chemistry. Any advise on how to improve this over summer?
Amy Mann try to do a bit of pre reading on A2 . If you don’t understand don’t be downhearted, you’ll have plenty of time to get it . Also keep practising , do the questions in the text book and ask your teachers for extra help if needed !
What GCSEs did u get - im only asking (i do not mean to be rude) because i want to set targets for my gcses and i would like to go to cambridge for biology. Sorry if this was rude to you
AR 22 schools like oxbridge don’t really care about summer schools . They might look at it if it was an oxbridge school. Best thing you can do if you do go to one is include it in your personal statement and talk about what you did in it
Hey Paige Thankyou for your videos! I just got out of the army I’m 21 and I’m currently gonna be studying majoring in physics. Are there any tips you can give me for the math and just in general since I know it will consume my life for the next 4 years.
Congrats on Cambridge I’ve heard it’s great from my mum who studied medicine there and good luck with it...hopefully I’ll get in my self studying law or medicine (only in year10)
Selahattin A-levels stand for advanced levels, it is pre-university education, you usually need 3 A-levels to get into university. It is equivalent to US 11th and 12th grade.
Am so happy for you I did Chemistry ocr as well and was 8 marks away from an A* it's weird how far away an A* is from an A this year Anyway congrats for your results and place in Cambridge well done 👍🏻
