@@mairiam6508 oh boy, well I ended up going to a university in San Francisco because the scholarship they offered me was too much to pass up, plus it was close to home. I was bummed at first about not going to NYU but I ended up falling into a major I’m really passionate about, got into an accelerated program to graduate early, and now I’m getting my Master’s in a new field that my school is one of VERY few schools to offer. I’m glad I didn’t go to NYU. I’m not sure I would have discovered my major if I went anywhere else. I can confidently say that where you go (or don’t go) for undergrad is truly not the end of the world, it does not define you. New York will always be there for my Phd or for the career I’m working towards now. You can enrich yourself and have a wonderful first 4 years of adult independence anywhere you go, a status school will not get you very far in and of itself.

You're awesome dude, I would just love being surrounded by people like you focused and productive. Unfortunately I'm a senior (about to graduate) so I'm not necessarily surrounded by many. NYU is my dream school. Slight situation is money, I understand there are financial aid and scholarship's you can apply for. Was and is money an issue for when you applied? For aplication process would you say it was easy or difficult meeting NYU standards?

I go to UVA. I personally love it but you're definitely correct in that it is a little slow-paced and has a distinct culture/personality that isn't for everyone.

I'm stuck between a typical campus style at monmouth and the city at Pace..do you ever get tired of the city and just want to chill or do you enjoy the rushing around energy the city brings? ..because i love the relaxing beach some days but then i also crave the crazy city :)! I'm stuck lol

I just got into NYU, which is my dream school. I originally wanted to go to Stern for marketing, but got rejected from it. I'm now going to Steinhardt for Media Culture and Communication because I am very much interested in that too. If I really really kept my grades up, in two years time do you think I would be able to transfer to Stern for marketing? Or is it highly unlikely? Thank you! See you in the fall :)

What would you suggest for someone who is interested in two or three of the different schools of the NYU campus ? I know you said it is difficult to change what school you are associated with after beginning there, but what if you would like to go in knowing you would be involved in multiple of the offered schools ? (For example the college of Arts and Science but also the college of Global Public Health).

My college experience: Wake up in my mom's house. Drive 45 minutes to college. Study and learn a 'meh' amount. Go home. Study and feel educated. Repeat.

Hey! Im a sophomore in High School in Texas and although early, I have ideas for colleges. NYU i am in LOVE with, its freedom and opportunities. I love theater and I want to do theater in college so bad, by my parents want to be to do medicine. Is there a way to do both? I know theater is in TISCH and i think there's a NYU school of medicine, but could I double major in theater and medicine or major/minor? What are the possibilities? THANK YOU!

i study in ny as well, i go to suny farmingdale since i live out in long island anyway. im balancing working full time and going to school. im really stressed because im taking extremely difficult classes. Any ideas of what i can do besides just plan everything out. i am really organized i just never have free time to skate or do anything. thanks, NYU is so dope i have friends who study there and i loved it!
