Could be your radiator cap, if it got damaged the coolant will boil. System is usually pressurized to keep it from boiling but if the cap is damaged the pressure lets out. Cheap ish solution to try anyway

If it is overheating still, it might be worth taking the thermostat out so the coolant keeps circulating, maybe the old one needs replacing anyway, they do get stuck shut. If bikes have them lol I know my mechanics from training with cars not bikes, but they probably do.

Jacob M the thermostat controls how much coolant flows through the engine. If it gets stuck then coolant can’t flow and the bike overheats

Yep, Also can get stuck open in some cases, causing the coolant to constantly flow through the block and continuously build heat.

Could also be that when he dropped the bike and bent the radiator he actually broke the radiator

@@Jacob0481 On older engines they can gunk up or on any engine just fail and not open, the coolant can not flow and the engine overheats. Remove it and it will be better until you fit a new one, I've done it on the side of the road myself before. If they get stuck opened or you remove it, it's not such a problem, but it takes longer to get up to optimal running temperatures so you still should replace them for best efficiency.

Single hose fuel pumps hold a gallon in the hose and fuel lines before the hose, so when you get gas in your bike, its getting a gallon of whatever grade the person using the pump before you pumped before it gets to the grade you selected. In a bike that holds 4 gallons only 3/4 of the fuel is premium.

I showed up to a culdesac in an unmarked vehicle with red & blue lights fucking blaring and everyone still peeked through their blinds like I was there to take their shit. The neighbor that called us had to tell their neighbors that the obvious silver dodge with red & blue lights and the guys with the guns standing outside talking to the person who called, were not there to rob everyone or take their shit.

If air got introduced into the cooling system it would cause overheating. Without a vacuum, you just cycle the vehicle to evacuate the air. Keep radiator topped and reservoir topped should work itself out. 👍

I have a 2005 zx6r with a possible stripped part of a screw inside the coolant drain hole. If I'm right and there is part of a stripped screw inside the drain hole, should I try to remove it before putting another bolt in there (in which I would be putting a bolt that's shorter than original drain bolt) or just go ahead and try to plug it with another bolt (which would be shorter than original drain bolt)?
