I'm heading up Cabbage Hill with a full load just shy of 80,000 lbs. Pendleton, Oregon to the Blue Mountain Summit via Dead Man's Pass. Enjoy the ride and the beautiful scenery.
Met you this morning (Saturday) In the construction on 84 east of Ogden… hope you make it thru the mess on 80 in Wyoming… was a nasty mess this morning.
Ah, sorry I missed you. Nope, didn't make it. The roads are shut down now. They shut down right before I got there. Apparently a big accident and then after that, winds and an "extreme blowover risk" (WYDOTs words). Looks like it'll clear up tomorrow around 1100-1200. Next year, staying south 'till MAY! Maybe even June!
All I will say is Who are you? 😉 You're having a bit of a British band thing going on at the moment fella, next you'll be wanting to drive on the left and fancying a cuppa tea! 🇬🇧🇺🇲
Hey bud, I know you has an issue with Rush but don't rule them out. The mechanics and Service Manager are like truck drivers, or anyone else, you have good ones and bad ones.....
Yeah, but it's how their corporate office reacted and treated me that ruled them all out. They stand behind the stores, not their customers, so if I have any issues at any of them, I'm SOL.
Law grawnd, smile when ya say that or they think yer an ijit or a toorist. "Not a bad truckstop", is about right. The traffic is worse than the hill, and they may pass you on the right, with their car or cascadia. Seen that on grapevine, cajon, parlays, and happy jack.
Great video, thank you. I travel out that way in June, July and August. After that, I don't go. Only because they have chain laws out there and I don't carry chains in my truck.
I love the view from cabbage. Done that trip many times. Never stopped to look. Last time I stayed at Arrowhead and the mountain was all fog in the morning.
Many times over that pass. I will say that little 13 L. seemed to pull as well as my 2000 N14 red top with a ten spd trans. If I kept it spun up maybe 1 or 2 mph faster 1750-1800 rpm and mpg gone gone gone.
Hey JJ Absolutely beautiful scenery on cabbage.. Smart move shutting down the day prior to this video.. Always enjoy your videos and adventures . Stay safe out there..😎
I certainly understand your comments about the never ending winter. I live 80 miles NW of Cabbage Hill in the Tri Cities. Last week we got 4” of snow!-previously the max April snow here was 0.1”. And we are on track for this to be the coldest April ever on record. Enjoyed your ride up the hill. I’m a fairly new subscriber and I’m really enjoying your videos.
Yeah, it's just crazy! I think it's finally let up as of now. Still getting snow in the highest of elevations, but that's OK. At least I'll know for next year. Stay warm up there.
