These guys were on my "heard of them but never heard them" list. Then I saw my crazy aunt on Facebook having a meltdown about them being satanic and decided to check them out. I wish i had checked them out sooner because this is great stuff
I've known about their existence for about 10 years, i had only listened to 2 songs from them previously and i was like "ok this is good, but i'm not interested". But i watched the Olympic Games performance and i was blown away so i decided to listen to a full album. I picked L'Enfant Sauvage and holy fuck i love it! It's so raw and heavy, like metal in its purest and authentic form.
Flying whales randomly played on Spotify for me and holy hell was that was an amazing introduction to this band. I’ve been listening to them more and more slowly since then and they’re just so damn good.
I'm a new fan and an old metalhead at 61. My sons got me hooked on this band. I find their music is probably the best I've heard in many years. Not keen on the new pop music, but this is complex, and best of all heavy and melodic all at the same time. Brilliant musicians (especially Super Mario). They should win every award but people in the industry are so short sighted. This band and the whole genre of black metal is life changing for me. I am enjoying whole albums again.
right with ya. only heard of Gojira about 6 months ago. realized i had youtube prem. and therefore a music streaming service. getting right into them. amazed thus far.
Backbone is such a ridiculous song. It lays down crushing riff after riff, sounds like it's finally winding down, and then unleashes the sickest riff yet. Insanely good song, album, band.
@@re-no6650 Thanks bro. We just try to be as transparent and passionate ass possible with our feelings. That is well captured when we go to see the bands we love.
@@ropestraightener9482 That's called growing up, people change. maybe with some time you guys will learn to play actually decent instead of that pseudo edgy garbage you have online.
I can’t WAIT to see GOJIRA and KoRn!!! I’ve seen KoRn 6 times now and never seen Gojira! The mighty Gojira have been a favorite of mine now for 9 years!
I'm over here because I saw Gojira opening for the Paris Olympics (with headless Marie Antoinette in attendance) and thought to myself "I like the cut of their jib. Where else can I hear stuff from them?"
Magma bad lol The way of all Flesh and From Mars to Sirius are their best work IMO, I’m a death core death metal guy and my favorites are backbone Vacuity and Esoteric surgery, couldn’t recommend it enough.
Their two most recent albums Fortitude and Magma have songs that are similar to the one performed at the opening ceremony, albums before them, like this one here, sound slightly different, I for one love them all.
@@arthurdaffos1490 oh my gosh it was incredible. They opened with Ocean Planet oddly enough. Joe sounded fantastic throughout the set. Mastodon were also pretty good.
I need to catch them live as well. I done the same, I've not gave it a chance but it's hitting me just right. Going to listen to the other albums and catch them live.
From The Sky is probably my favorite song by Gojira, I'm pretty confident in that. The riffs, the vocals, the transitions throughout the song, the fucking pummeling drums. It is Gojira at their best.
I bought this album as soon as it came out. After 18 years it still remains one of my favourite listens. And unfortunately we are getting closer and closer in reality to the themes dealt with on the album. Great Gojira for this masterpiece ✨🎶🪐🐋🪐🎶✨
Probably their best? Somewhere between this and Way of All Flesh for sure! :) I'll never forget first hearing this opening song; I was 17/18 and my x, who had amazing taste in music, showed me Ocean Planet. I'd never heard anything quite like it, and I was forever hooked!
@@Tritoness4th? Please elaborate. Personally this is the culmination of the first 2 albums. This is the peak, the epitome of progression that this band has, had. It's set the standard for many bands that came after and for the band itself. They chased this album until they decided to go a different direction beginning with magma. It's influence and significance can only be followed by the way of all flesh. Even so it's light is pale in comparison to the impact of this album on metal.
@@godvandamme9921 for me the tone of the guitar is too mushy, the production as well isn’t as tight as the 2 that come after. This album contains some of the best tracks they’re put out. Backbone, Flying Whales, The heaviest, and one of my top 10 tracks by them To sirius. I love the album, but i like the tighter production, mixing and overall tracks on Terra, Twoaf and L’enfant a bit better.
J'ai beau écouté les autres albums je reviens 10 fois à celui-ci c'est le meilleur du groupe pour moi, j'adore l'ambiance sombre et l'homogénéité des chansons !!!!
This is definitely their best album. Easily out of their other albums. Every song on this album is a killer, even an instrumental Unicorn is good! Always Gojira's No.1 album for me!🤟🔥
Thankyou for this upload. I do not know why this album along with 'The Way of All Flesh' is not included in the YT music catalogue! This is one of the best Gojira records 🤘
Somekind of perfection It'll always be their best album. The songs, the way they play especially Mario, the sound, the lyrics...when it came out it was mindblowing
Superbe album ! Je préfère peut-être les compo de TWOAF mais le son de celui-ci est incroyable, leur meilleur à ce jour 🤘 et mention spéciale pour l'illustration ! 🔥🔥🔥
Commercial during music sucks! Dear RU-vid please make music great not a soap commercial! Great band! How about just one commercial per video! In the beginning, not in the middle or ever song! If I want that I would turn on the am radio!
I'm here because I over-listened to all of Isis's albums. Gojira is awesome! For anybody going the other direction and needing something with similar progressive, forlorne metal soundscapes, I recommend trying Isis.
Thanks for this. But can someone explain why From Mars To Sirius isnt on RU-vid Music? Im kinda upset that it isnt and im wondering if anyone else has similar issues
paid $28 for this album back in late 05 having no clue who Gojira was. would just buy whatever was new in our record store. the cover & overall album theme caught my eye, reading over the song titles on the back. was a big metal & IDM collector at the time. needless to say this album not only became an instant classic to me. but was life altering art.
From Mars to Sirius and some of it's songs are perfectly fitting situations where peace is not an option because it's a goddamn soundtrack to ultraviolence with intension to clean the earth or something.
Thanks for posting this monster album, but the ads get pretty annoying especially getting an ad right after From Mars messes up the whole flow but like I said Thanks for posting
