EvoSvex Yeah srsly, they are unlike your typical modern BR00TAL death metal doods, they are both very intelligent, creative modest musicians with tons of passion in they're music and they have really good and thought provoking messages in the songs too. Real role models
I'm just getting into them heavily, and I love Mario's drumming, he's a monster! Yet yes, so humble... in an interview he said that, in addition to an hour of steady 32nd note bass drums increasing in tempo for practice (which I can see, considering), he took 7 years of jazz drumming.. which I can also see, but still.. that's freakin awesome. Digging everything about the band, from the writing, to the musicianship, to the message, and their attitudes. Long Live Gojira! Favorite metal next to Krallice now, and Mick Barr's insane ass...
This guy writes some of the best lyrics I've ever heard. I'm consistently impressed by Gojira. They really are on another plane, where metal bands are concerned. "You have the power to heal yourself."
guitarist that are also lead vocalists are the best, adds a better dynamic to a band. He has no piercings or tattoos huh? Seems like a very clean band overall and of course their narrative being focus on the earth and environment.
What’s up with metal musicians being the most brutal people on stage but so humble and down to earth people when you meet them in person? Especially Joe, he seems like an awesome dude. I just saw my first Gojira show tonight and I’m still stunned by how good it was! He really got the crowd super hyped and there were mosh pits on every song! Great energy and great musicianship!
Me too... Hate social people... The weather is fine today, is that a new shirt you're wearing? Yeah right. Let,s fuck things up, and headbang till we die🏃
It's why I love Gojira. For me, along with Slipknot, they are one of my favorite bands. Both are able to do something super unique in their music. They will do something crazy on drums or guitar only when they need it, unlike most metal bands.
Joes thoughts at 5:38 are interesting. I never really thought about it like that but it makes perfect sense. Just being able to be as loud and aggressive as possible through something like music where it's a positive, not negative release of frustration would help deal with some emotions. I've personally never sung out loud ever, but it seems like such a cathartic experience and I'd love to learn to be a decent singer one day. Good interview, didn't know he had a bit of social anxiety. Partly explains his calmer demeanour off stage, he doesn't seem like an extrovert
What's the band shirt joe's wearing during the show? Can't quite decipher it. Yeah, I don't know many black metal bands, as I already fail at this font. XD Anyone wondering: kvelertak
"it was sold out!!!" like she could never believe that...."you got great reaviews!..." Eeeh..okay who the fuck cares. She´s the second swedish interviewer, and she´s almost as bad as the other one..skämmigt att vara svensk ibland. :P
(I know this is kinda old, but meh) I don't know what being skinny or thin has anything to do with being vegetarian. I mean, yes, you can lose a lot of weight because you get rid of most of the saturated fats, cholesterol, etc but that doesn't mean you're gonna get skinnier because you're vegetarian... Just look at freaking Doyle from The Misfits.
