He wanted the Ten Shadows cuz it was an interesting technique with a lot of potential, and though he didn't realize what it was, he sensed Megumi was about to summon an incredibly powerful Shikigami (Mahoraga) When he witnessed Mahoraga's true power in action, he realized it's the way to defeat Gojo

To be fair gojo himself admitted that even without mahagaroga of however tf you spell it sakuna would have still won the fight

Why? He really could control him, Sukuna literally needed a binding vow to move freely on his own, and that was only for a minute.

@@SnagTheRabbit he was knocked out and weakened after the fight with Choso, not to mention the mental strain caused by all the worries he had about Gojo and his friends. Plus it's clearly a plot device to show off Sukuna's power and show the viewer when he tamed Mahoraga (which is a great feat on his own). Yuji really can control him, unless he's quite literally out or he under the effect of a binding vow.

If sukuna would still be in itadori then he would have more speed. That's why he switched to megumi to defeat gojo. 10 shadows vs 6 eyes. Gojo WILL come back I hope tege will make that 30 yr old lad come back

if u watch Sukuna vs Megumi when he talks about megumis 10 shadows shikigami he says “it is adaptable too” he knew he needed megumis body and technique to counter Gojos infinity (perfect defense) so that he can use a reference on how to slice through gojos Infinity barrier. At this moment he realized he has no technique to counter gojos infinity. Other than winning a domain battle he had no options until Megumi came into the picture.

@@hjlnbi I haven't read the fight closely because it was 100% through social media osmosis. But didn't Gojo land multiple fatal blows on him, mock Sukuna for bringing out Mohoraga and a Fused Shadow, knocked him out of Megumi's Domain Expansion, landed Ultimate Void which Sukuna had to CHEAT by letting Megumi inside him take it, and finally adapted enough to blast him at close range and still have enough energy to heal himself? The chapter even declared him as winner, as Sukuna was on the backfoot. All for Sukuna to off-screen slice him in half? I didn't expect Gojo to win at the start because the senpai/master never win against the main villain, but dang that was dirty because he really did look like he was going to subvert that trope.
