I don't know where Gojukai got this kata because They NEVER HAD, LET ME EMPHASIZE...NEVER HAD ANY KATA,superior or inferior of this type in their syllabus. Goju kai was all free-fighting This "kata" was copied by someone from thls school and sold to Goju kai as the real one. Ha!
That's rubbish, since the original Goju-kai (formed in the 1930s) was recognized by Chojun Miyagi and it was headed by his senior student, Jitsui Yogi (today it is the JKF Goju-ryu). The other (free fighting) Goju-kai of Yamaguchi Gogen, was a group that split in the 1950s, Gogen taking many of the senior students of the old Goju-kai with him. Then Yamaguchi Gogen reached out to Meibukan and trained and polish his kata in Okinawa for a few months. You can see plenty of old Goju-kai Sanseru videos from the 60s and 70s - they always had kata - it's a simplified, less complex version of the Okinawa Goju-ryu, but it is still Goju-ryu kata.
