probably THE best moment. I hate when goku gains new strength through random powerups. I much prefer situations like this where he actually uses what he knows to adapt and come up with new fighting styles.
@Pat A literal galaxy of an aura to add to that, let's not forget. I absolutely love it when they give Goku "boss" mode for an episode, even if it does break his body haha
Not sure if you done voice acting, especially screaming...but they scream in a booth. All. Day. Long. So they probably took a take that was halfway or near the end of the day to use. It's not like Sean specifically said "Better make this sound painful!" Even at cons, they say the worst part is the screaming, and right as Super was realized neither him or Chris were happy about finding out. In fact, I think Sean's exact words were "Excellent, 10 more years of screaming"
Syphergor I watched them at a con booth just last night from Super was starting and they were pretty excited. But yes, I've done and practiced voice acting. Whether it be intentional or not, the voice crack certainly adds a flair.
I literally screamed when I heard him say that. Reviving a dead ability out of completely nowhere after so many years without it is one of the craziest DB moments.
@@icedpmI love seeing crybabies like you not understanding that people have different views on anime, and them getting excited is something to rude about. Don’t worry tho, you can keep crying 👍
Vegeta's search history: How to be a Super Saiyan How to go SSJ2 How to go SSJ3 How to go SSJG without other saiyans How to do the Kaio Ken technique How to obtain Ultra Instinct Directions to the planet of the Yardrats Does Toriyama still hate me?
Sean proving that Dragonballs Dub is and if not one of the best English dubs ever in anime. The pure intensity he brings to Goku and literally pushing it to even further beyond is so inspiring.
not only sean, i think all the characters fit so perfectly, not just good but yknow what i mean, i wouldn’t change anything, from krillin to beerus, whis, champa, vegeta, goku and everyone tbh
@@0doublezero0 So i take it that you grew up with sub then? by your logic? lol I think Jp Va’s for the DB series on the whole are great! But for this series in super? Sean takes the cake for pushing his voice into a whole new range of vocal performance
@@blueicydasani4543 you still have to be calm to control the kaioken remember its a technique not a transformation. Imagine goku was just angry as hfil he wouldn't be able to do the kaioken at all
@@Kylecoll1629 That explains why he didn't use it immediately after the 2 Zamasus told him the truth about what happened to Chi Chi and Goten after they stole his body. I'm a little disappointed I didn't realize that sooner. We haven't seen him that enraged since he fought Frieza on Namek.
This was seriously one of the coolest things Goku had ever done. I thought he had long since dropped Kaioken, due to it being basically eclipsed by the Super Saiyan form (except that one episode of filler in the afterlife tournament where he did the Super Kaioken). This was a great refresher on it and im glad that they havent forgotten some of Goku’s greatest techniques
@@SuchAccuracy Interesting point, regarding the coordination of matter/energy (perceivably, the occupied set of physical states): channeling the Kaioken (mental-state), while occupying the super-saiyan state (again, perceivably/arguably a mental-state in totality), pre-super saga... an unhinged super piñata.. like Broly... who was full of something green... never confirmed to be candy.... Goku's one smart cookie...like.. a super cookie...piñata
This was so hype when it first happened! Not only was it the unexpected return of a classic technique from Z, but it's been amplified and even more battle ready than before!
@Xx_FireDude_xX No. As long as he doesnt learn to go beyong x10, like x20 kaioken so no Whis im good. Back off or else I will eat that fish you love talking to so much.
To me, it makes me feel how it should be, the kaioken drains Goku of his power, not to mention ssb kaioken almost kills him. To me at least, it's perfect because he actually sounds in pain.
It was nice to see KaioKen again it was really Goku’s first actual transformation and I was sad when it was forgotten and now this combo will forever go down as one of my favorite Goku transformations
The kaioken is not a transformation its a technique thats the reason goku was able to go ssb kaioken you cant combine transformations (as far as im aware) but of course some people dissagree due to ssb being ssg and ssj but if i remember correctly ssg isnt really a transformation its when a sayain uses god ki
I remember back when I saw this for the first time. Such an awesome scene that I always gets goosebumps from, it literally never gets old. Just the voice acting, music, emotions and seeing Kaioken again was just perfect
In the early FUNimation dub of DBZ in the Saiyan Saga, Sean pronounced "Kayo-ken" which is fixed in Dragon Ball Super as "Kai-o-ken" and is why in the Abridged, King Kai was annoyed of Yamcha mispronouncing "Kaio-Ken" as an allusion to the mistake during the deceased Z-Fighters' training on his personal planet to get them stronger after they died and are waiting to be revived by the Namekian Dragon Balls. Abridged!Yamcha: "Seriously, when are we going learn the Kayo-Ken?" Abridged!King Kai: "What?" Abridged!Yamcha: "The Kayo-Ken, King Kai! When are we going to learn the Kayo-Ken?" Abridged!King Kai: "KAI..." Abridged!Yamcha: "Wha-" Abridged!King Kai: "KAI-O-KEN! As in King Kai! As in KAI-O-SAMA! That is it! None of you are receiving my training and none of you are learning the Kaio-Ken or the Genki-Dama!" Abridged!Tien: "Freakin' weaboo."
I heard it being pronounced both ways at once, Goku said Kayo-Ken, Vegeta said Kaio-Ken, Nappa said Kayo-Ken. It's actually kind of confusing to be pronounced both ways and later be called Kaio-Ken.
@@piggymkcool You do realise that Kaioken and Ultra Instinct were officially confirmed as techniques, right? It's not fan speculation by any means, it's how it's always been.
@@Schnoz42069 I've never fully understood what happened if goku passed through time or he just overpowered hit's ability with pure strength could you explain pls lol
@@VillSleek Hit's time skip doesn't work on people significantly stronger than him. Goku not being affected by it isn't really a feat in the same way blowing up a planet is, it just shows that he's much stronger than Hit.
Eli9mm most people hate them because they alter the dialogue, often making it a lot dumber, and less intellectual. It’s less about the voices and more about the changes to dialogue and character.
This is a PERFECT demonstration of the one certainty across Dragon Ball power levels: a high power level will always overrule anything a weaker one can do. The moment Goku activated the x10 Kaioken, his power level wasn't only higher, it basically dwarfed Hit's level, despite his Pure Progress.
I was referring to Kaio Ken x20, geniuses. _Please_ tell me, you two weren't ignorant to how Ultra Instinct's introduction was an explicit callback to Goku's first transformation into a Super Saiyan while fighting Frieza? Lemme sum it up for you: Goku fights an opponent, one considered a monster. His friends think he's keeping up, and that he'll be able to win since he hasn't even used Kaio Ken yet. ...Only, it's revealed that he's been using KK x20 the entire time, and it's _not enough_ . As the fight goes on, he's forced to rely on the Spirit Bomb, gathering energy and throwing it at his opponent. But even then, not even it prevails; the monster survives. Completely drained, left with no other options, and in the most desperate of situations, a new power awakens within Goku, stronger than anything seen before. With a powerful roar, the world shakes, astounding power the herald of the Saiyan's rebirth. Did I describe Goku fighting Frieza, or Goku fighting Jiren? If you can answer this question, you'll figure out what I'm talking about.
"That disrespectful Saiyan was planning to use this move against me" When you realize this was a technique created by a Kai, not a Supreme Kai or a God of Destruction, no but a Kai who's job is to oversee the North side of a Universe in a Multiverse, puts fear in gods who are leagues above him in terms of strength.
@@MAR-sc7np yes he was. He says he wasn't scared because he was scared. Scared of using more power than intended. But he's also thinking in the back of his mind “this Saiyan might increase power so much he maybe able to defeat me one day"
@@MAR-sc7np he was definitely nervous. Nervous that goku might have actually been stronger than him or even as strong as him. But NOT as the OP said, it doesn’t matter about a Kai creating a move that scared him, it’s the fact that goku is in his blue form with that technique ON TOP of his blue form, with his power level THAT high that scares him
It's the ki resonating from his voice :D pretty cool how they started adding this to empowered kiai in super. The Broly movie had the coolest implementation of this imo.
"Super saiyan blue is all about power and extreme control. Combining that with the claim focus of the kaioken and now there's not telling how high I can go" my man spit bars

When the whole arena turned red, all I could think about was Hit realising that he was now in GOKU'S arena, what an absolute beast. The look on Hit's face, it's like you can see when everything went red, Hit realised that he wasn't just fighting anyone, but a true God, a hero, a legend. Goku, all I have to say is, you made my childhood amazing, and now you're making my adulthood even better, thank you ❤️.
anyone else notice that when he was powering up before he screamed "times ten" that there was a little bit of the Ultra instinct voice effect coming through. To imagine they were hinting even more at it before hand is kinda cool.
Method acting 101 Using a power up that strains your whole body, thus must sound like your voice is strained as well with the voice crack Sean you god damn genius
True. He wouldn’t have survived the sheer amount of power UI possesses if his body wasn’t prepared for it. His long battle history, with forms such as this, has prepped him into a literal GOD!

Egzekiel The Scream is Phenomenal. They finally broke the mind incentive of keeping it a low decibel of intensity and made more realistic. It actually sounds like a struggle for goku when he reaches that level of power. And when it becomes an inner battle of maintaining while overpowering Hit.
2:02 This voice actor is amazing. The scream aside is amazing, but you can feel the pain and struggle going that form has on Goku. You hear fluctuations of pain in his voice during the first and a heck of a lot more on thhe second TIMES TEN before he attacks.

1:20 they changed this line in the Crunchyroll release. In this version, he says "calming focus of the kaioken" but on Crunchyroll he says "multiplying boost" what the hell
Does crunchyroll use the blu ray release version for Super? Maybe they added in a dialogue change for blu ray release. Because I distinctly remember Goku saying “calming focus” for the longest.
