A very clean rip of the Mark Menza track that plays at the very end of Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy, when Goku Jr. meets Goku. This is chronologically one of the last tracks to ever play in the classic era of Dragon Ball.
Background:
So for the first time in about 9 months, I am uploading an English track. It's yet another GT Menza one but this time it comes from the TV special rather than the actual series. Coycoy uploaded a rip of this a while ago but I thought that I would go a step further and apply my own methods to remove what he wasn't able to. Been meaning to do this one for a while, not only because it's a really nice track but also because the method's that I used for this rip are a bit different to what I have used previously with Menza's GT music. Due to the way that it was released on DVD, the Menza version of the special features 5.1 audio, rather than the regular 2.0 stereo featured for the main episodes. This basically means that I could invert some of the audio from the Tokunaga score version (in scenes without the Japanese music playing at least) with the Menza one to cancel out a lot of vocals and sfx before finishing off the rest using Spleeter and ISSE.
I won't go into much detail on the removal of the background noise as it mostly involved taking out minor sounds like birds chirping but I will say that the part near the end where Goku's voice could be heard was very difficult as the instruments made isolating the reverb impossible to do cleanly. This meant that I had to resort to using Spleeter (which I haven't done in quite some time) to try and split it all up into different parts to preserve as much music as possible. I can safely say that 95% of the vocals are now gone, with almost all of the track intact so I am quite happy with it. The rest of the track was just trying to mix in the cleanest parts of the front and rear channels of the 5.1 audio and then editing the result. I also made an attempt to recreate the ending segment of the track but with the "Step into the Grand Tour" part removed by reusing a snippet of audio from 4:27-4:28 by cutting it up in ISSE to make it sound like the actual ending. All in all this took a couple of weeks to make. Hope you all enjoy it guys I think I did a really good job with this one! ;)
