Thank you so much! I'm so glad I came across your videos and got the confidence to use resin. It's a game-changer for sure. I love your channel, so I was very happy to shout you out. Appreciate you watching the video!
great job i have been putting off a pond dio using two part resin pour that I have in my shop. Think I will get started on it because popeye needs a pond!
Very cool! Yes for sure. If you get the pack or pigments I got there are 16 different colors in there, so you could really experiment and have some options.
@@vascotoys i did try make a fight scene out of it, i used a hot rod to poke a hole through, n stick a light saber through with led lighing to make the saber glow, it was the coolest thing ive made with figures, but tat alone took me 3 weeks o figure out lol
Didn’t know it was called a Zenathal highlight, been doing that since I was a kiddo to add highlights and shadows to stuff, first Time I tried it was on a guitar I repainted
I didn't know about that technique at all until I learned it from Boylei, but I'm not surprised you have been using it for years! Thanks for checking this out, Jordan! I know DBZ isn't your thing and appreciate the support man.
This is awesome! Great job on it dude, this could also be a cool Dio for most DragonBall stuff including DBS Broly when Broly and Goku are fighting right before Frieza kills his dad
Thanks Ty! Yes, totally. I actually made that dio years ago before I was comfortable using resin. I feel like you could use this kind of piece with Star Wars, Marvel Legends, G.I. Joe and so many other lines as well.
Great question, but I wish I had a better answer for you. The way I would describe it is that I was generous. I don't know how many drops, but I knew I wanted my resin to be opaque, so I put quite a bit in.
@@vascotoys much appreciated. I think I've been using too little, also didn't occur to me until watching your video to use different cups for each color.
I am pretty sure resin is toxic if breathed in. I know when I work with resin, I always wear a mask. Also, I think many toxic things don't have a smell. I think I read somewhere that most smells are actually artificially given to toxic fumes so it can act as a warning instead of being an odorless killer. You should be fine unless you work with it a ton in the future. Just thought I'd add this here for anyone wondering. Better safe than sorry.
Great point! Safety has to be #1. As I mentioned, I did my research on the product I ordered and thoroughly read the instructions before use. Eye and skincare protection were recommended for what I used. Thanks for checking this out and leaving an important comment.
@vascotoys Yeah, hopefully they have it all properly labeled, but I don't trust em.. haha Great video, btw. Love the dio. I'm tempted to do this when full power frieza comes in!
@@941asland thanks man! Yes, I agree, when in doubt putting a respirator on can never hurt. I am Sooooo excited for full power Frieza! You should totally give something like this a shot.
It did take away some of the details from the sculpt. That can likely be fixed in future projects. I can likely do a better job when applying the plaster to preserve the details or only use it on the area the resin will be. The Plaster was essential to protect the foam from the resin.
