@@aimanazminovich3602Likely a good bit stronger, especially in SSJ3. SSJ3 Goku is a bit above Fat Buu apparently, and can throw hands with Kid Buu to an extent. Meanwhile SSJ3 Gotenks was doing pretty well against Super Buu who is stronger than Fat Buu. Goku’s experience and techniques like the instant transmission may help him out but I think Gotenks would win provided they don’t play around for too long
@@aimanazminovich3602 Even if it's the case that Gotenks was slightly stronger in that moment they'd still lose to Goku. He's got more determination and experience to bridge the gap if there ever was one. It's not just the fact you're older and a little further along developmentally, it's the experience that comes with probably having more fights, etc that makes the real difference and Goku is leagues above them, they're a little too cocky because they're still kids which is a big weakness.
Trunks has his father's pride and his mother's heart. I could tell he felt a bit bad for Goten in the moment but he already knew he was stronger than him because he's older...

At that age Vegeta would smoke Goku. Vegeta surpassed the adult Elite when he was only a child. Goku could barely beat Raditz until King Kai's training took him to a new level. Without King Kai, Goku gets smoked and Z ends on a sad note at the Saiyan saga

Raditz was a mid Class Warrior who was very close to being an Elite. That's why he was on Prince Vegeta's team. Bardock and Goku are low Class Warriors but Bardock became one of the most powerful Saiyans from Zenkai boosts. It doesn't matter how strong a Saiyan becomes they always stay in their Class. Vegeta has an Elite brother Rigor who is not Canon. But considering his Canon brother is low class. We see that the family you're born into means nothing with potential

Considering Trunks has Vegeta training and Goten mainly has Chichi training, it's very impressive that Goten was able to keep up since training with someone of a higher power level gives you much greater gains most of the time.

Look how Goku talks so blunt but kindly towards them. Even lifts Goten up when he feels like he disappointed his dad by not being stronger than Trunks. How anyone can call him a bad dad is beyond me. He's an excellent dad whenever he gets a chance to actually be a dad.

I don't personally think he is but I can understand why people say he is a bad dad (especially during the Cell Saga). I do think Piccolo has proven to be a more suitable dad for Gohan at least.
Well how many real dad moments does he have with Goten... 😶 The funny and ironic thing is unlike gohan, Goten actually likes to Fight and Spar, but Goku never trains with him or take him when he goes to see Whis (although that can really be attributed to the writing)

Goku sounding disappointed/surprised at their 'low' power is kinda funny since they are probably stronger then he was before namek and defiantly a lot stronger then he was at their age.
They are for sure stronger than Goku at that age. But the Super Sayajin is just a multiplier, they are hardly stronger than Namek Goku...and I think hybrids outside of Gohan, a mutant, trade easier access to the Super forms and power in general in exchange of maximum power, so their supers are a tad weaker.
@@chromab7713 That is why I said before Namek not on Namek. For the multiplier keep in mind it is a x50 which is a massive boost. The last part is head cannon and one I've never heard before, I don't think a good reason was ever given in universe as to why Goten and Trunks get SSJ so easy.
It's been stated somewhere that Saiyans' respective difficulty transforming depends on the number of S-cells they have, of which more gentle people have more, whilst crueller characters have less. My head cannon would prob be that as hybrids with more humanity, Gohan, trunks and Goten probably found it easier to transform because of their gentler dispositions compared to someone like Vegeta who struggled the most.@@Reuraku
@@haych5491 I don't know how accurate it is but I believe one of the data books states that S-cells can be inherited which would explain why Gohan had to truly train to obtain ssj but Trunks and Goten who were born after their respective parents obtained ssj had an easier time doing it. Also what chromab said is kinda true too because we are shown with Goku jr that ssj was almost a given at birth but the multi seemed lower. I kinda see it as Goku, Vegeta, Gohan x50 with Trunks and Goten x45
Weird how they set up Goten and Trunks as having waaaaaaaaay more potential than anyone else, and then they just never really did anything with that. With the age they both figured out SSJ, both of them should have figured out SSJ 2 by the end of the Buu saga, especially considering Gotenks was able to figure out SSJ 3. By the time they reach 15, they should be on a completely unimaginable level of power.
That's one of my major complaints about the series. As much as I love the series, there were just a lot of things introduced that never really went anywhere.
LOL that's not necessarily what they were setting up, bro. Gohan has more potential than anyone and that was ALWAYS set up and implied. Now, Hybrids DO have more potential than other Saiyans, yes, but Gohan is a mutant hybrid, similar to how Broly is a mutant pureblood. Goten and Trunks have more potential than most, but Gohan, Broly, and maybe Frieza are the exceptions. Gohan is clearly number 1, as stated by nearly every character, as well as Akira many times over the last 3 decades. And the fact that Gohan finishes Cell Saga, Buu Saga, and Z as the strongest character, and is currently the strongest in Super only further confirms this. Frieza and Broly might be a tie but I'd lean towards Broly simply because Frieza had to do 10 years in a Time Chamber just to eclipse Goku and Vegeta whereas Broly closed that gap within one battle. So I'd say it's Gohan > Broly > Frieza > then Goten and Trunks are somewhere next with Buu and Uub.
Gohan is a lot more like Chi Chi when she was younger than Goku, while Goten has more of Goku's personality. I've always kind of assumed it's a combination of the Saiyan potential with human adrenaline that happens when Gohan snaps. Dude freaks out, but in the opposite way of Broly. Broly loses control, while Gohan actually gets in full control.
@JohnnyDominion read my comment again. I never said stronger than him, just a play thing. Freiza base final form can't compete with super sayian unless he goes 100%. I think many audiences would agree that goten and trunks were on pair with goku when he first achieved super sayian.
I dont think the "oh that's it" was meant to be rude. Goku learned as a kid that thinking you're top dog isn't a good mentality if you want to grow stronger. Heck, that's why Roshi became Jackie Chun to beat Goku. Why Popo had to humble Goku. Trunks and Goten think they're really strong, which they are for their ages, but they can definitely go higher
I agree. It's fun to joke about Goku being disappointed, but the truth is he was impressed by the fact that they were even Super Saiyans at that age. That was a big deal back then.

And the funny thing about this scene is that Goku knows that it took a lot of training for Gohan to go SSJ, and he was older compared to Goten and Trunks when they achieved it. But on the other hand Goku was trying to pass the torch to the next generation and they have to fight a monster that turns people into candy, so you can't be that mad at him.

I'm simply stating an observation, also from the video you can see that goten has to go max while trunks lowers his max to fuse, that will create different mentalities, for example vegeta didn't get truly stronger till he accepted that a "lower class" sayin like goku could be stronger, that's when he started to push himself more to get to gokus level and accepted him as an equal.

You do know Vegeta's 18,000 power level in the beginning of the series made him one of the strongest warriors in the Universe that wasn't a mutant right? The Frieza Force is trying to find people with power levels over a 1000 and they hit the jack pot when they find Broly and his Dad. That's why Frieza pays Them a fortune. Before King Kai, Goku couldn't even beat a Mid Class Saiyan with a power level of 1500. Without dying Goku gets smoked by Vegeta. The Kiao Ken changed the game
By the end of Z, Goku became a Martial arts master (hence his Gi had no symbol), he wasn't a student anymore (not even his own student), which was symbolised by him training Uub... Also, he outgrew all of his flaws, and became the perfect, understanding, meticulated fighter overall... Thus, they had to re-introduce character flaws in Super, in order to introduce some more Character growth, to make the story interesting to watch. But the problem is that they introduced such flaws in Goku, which never even existed. They made Goku a dumb idiot who just knows how to brawl
I think it works better like this. Them being friends works with fusion being their main transformation, otherwise they would probably hate fusing like goku and vegeta do. Also, it would basically just end up being goku and vegeta again which we get with… goku and vegeta so it would probably get pretty boring fast.
Well, in canon in DBS, they're nearly almost equal in power so it wasn't really hard for them, especially since the difference was so miniscule Piccolo didn't even bother to remind them of this before the fusion.

They used the potara, which doesn't need the energy of both parties to match. That was only the fusion dance, as it wasn't as potent, but had a strict hard time for the fusion.

The fact that they achieved super Saiyan at that young age is a good feat. Goku and Vegeta didn't became Super Saiyan till they were adults. Gohan achieved it till he was like 12 or something. Trunks and Goten are like 7-8 years old or something.

Tbf Trunks is not only 1 year older, he also has his father to train him. Goten only has his mom to train him but he's still comparable to him. She did a good job.

For Trunks only being like a year and a half older it’s still impressive Goten was as close as he was to him in strength. The two of them were the youngest SSJs in history and hadn’t even gotten stronger from fighting in real battles like Gohan was at their age. Imagine
