I have looked at the author's sentiment. Part of the reason for his dialogue is that English is a second language to him. Apparently he didn't think he would even get this far done. He's aware of some continuity problems with the canonical stories as compared to his, and doubtless he has learned original MM and X are two different things, and Capcom has even said as much. So his story may be regarded as both an afterthought to this project as well as fanfiction.
Well, honestly it's fine anyway, i mean english is also my second language, and even though i kind of master it mostly i understand it would be tough to translate it into programming a game, considering spacing or coherence issues mid-translation, but still i think it's a nicely done game anyway, even if it's not officially coherent with the series' original canonical story, it's a nice re-imagination of it, taking the time to somehow explain many things as why no character from the classic saga appeared in the X saga, or well a nice what-if story showing us what would happen if Zero were to be activated beforehand without any of the neccessary checks on his system to not go berserk like he went at first, or at least before transfering the Maverick Virus to Sigma, switching places from hero to villain and viceversa, let's consider it an alter story or a sorta multiverse, that can make it all fit better without being exactly as showed in the old official canon, still a great game though, greetings to everyone in 2022. xD
Ya know, the whole "Protoman Self Destructs" thing is useful for 2 explanations: 1) Why Zero doesn't have his Z-Saber and Shoulder Pads like in this game. 2) Where Zero got the idea to Self Destruct on Vile's Ride Armor
This makes me think of an alternate story where X retains his memories of Megaman, and as Dr. Light watches over him, he took part in a CRISPR like program to sustain his life to the point he could see X. But he'd look zombified, yet retain his personality. Zombie Light could finally rest after X's first mission to save the world.
Dr light already lived on in the armor system he seem full sentient even have knowledge of Character he never met before so that zombie Light thing is uneeded Light even gain some new ability like healing X after X5 so he might still interact directly with the physical world.
To all the people bashing this, I just want to stress how difficult it is to make a video game. Let alone one with this level of detail. Everything you see happening on the screen at any given moment, be it the something as complex as Zero's patterns, or something as simple as pressing a button to jump, was coded painstakingly by one person. Coming from someone who's currently making games of his own in the successor to this game's engine, Gamemaker Studio 2, I can tell you firsthand that it's no easy task. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely room for improvements. The dialogue and text boxes could use some tweaking, and the camera could probably be a smidge more zoomed in. But for what this is, a fan game made with the time, effort, and passion of just one person, I think this is really great.

Sé que es un proyecto, pero tiene muchas fallas argumentales, el diseño de Zero es de su segunda versión vista por primera vez en Megaman X2 y además tiene el Z-saber, pero se supone que el dr Willy creo la primera versión, que tiene varias diferencias, como que no tiene hombreras, o que aún no tenía su espada, entonces está muy bien hecho pero creo que ese error es muy grave además de otros pequeños errores pero está increíble, quien lo hizo tiene un gran potencial.
Exacto lo mismo iba a comentar el diseño que tiene Zero junto con el Z-saber lo obtuvo a partie de Megaman X2 por lo que en ese punto el diseño seria el del Megaman X1 y con su Z-buster
Seria tercera version ya que zero pasa por un cambio antes de eso y aun asi zero jamas fue activado mas que una vez en prueba y por no poder controlar su poder, no se controlaba y no podia acatar ordenes, willy lo desactivo y pasaron otros 8 años desoues d epower fighter cuando medio que hablo de el a medias pero que faltaba mucho para poder estar operativo y con megaman 11 queda claro que willy aun no estaba listo pero impmento parte de ese sistemas.
Otro gran error es que implican que Mega Man y X son la misma persona, cosa que ya se desmintió por Inafune y el propio Capcom, X y Mega Man son dos personas diferentes.
Sé que igual llego algo tarde a comentar pero me apetecía, supondré que el diseño de Zero lo sacaron de los Megaman Xtreme, de ahí que el sprite esté tan bien logrado sin parecer un edit, además del diseño más actualizado post-X1, que según recuerdo lo usaron en los Xtreme de GBC, y según recuerdo haber leido y sumado a lo que se ve en algunos frames del video, no es que realmente Zero use el Z-Saber, sino que literalmente usa sus manos como si fueran su arma, digamos al estilo de Leona en KOF con sus manos cortantes, aunque se explicaría el guiño a que en ese futuro hipotético luego optara por tener un arma de ese estilo ya con el Z-Saber real. Si bien es fanmade y no canónico (como ya se ha dicho), es una interpretación alterna interesante y que a su manera encaja bastante bien ciertos detalles entre las dos sagas, explicando por qué no aparece ningún personaje, y el hecho de que X fuera casi idéntico al Megaman original pero sin tener consciencia de eso, solo quedaría saber cómo es que Zero ya conocía los nombres de todos en el rato que estuvo activo, pero bueno podría decirse que quizá Wily lo programó en sus recuerdos para que supiera a quién atacar cuando se activase, de haber salido bien. Recuerdo cuando lo probé hace años que por algún motivo el juego se quedaba buggeado a mitad del nivel de Chill Man tras un checkpoint sin forma de morir para reiniciarlo, pero espero ese bug haya sido resuelto desde entonces, me gustaría volverlo a jugar en el futuro, un muy buen fangame realmente a pesar de todo . xD

Both this and Mega Man Unlimited have a very similar final boss fight. However, I prefer how the later handled it. It actually has Zero be in a state even more incomplete than in the first X game. Not to mention it didn't resort to killing off Wily just because of the cataclysm theory once having been popular. By the way, X is a completely separate design from classic Mega Man. X had to be sealed away because he was too advanced; mainly because of being able to think freely.
Wow, there's a lot of hate on this video. I have to say that you took those bosses pretty well (that pre-wily platform section looks like a pain, not to mention the bosses). As for the game itself, while they could have definitely tightened up things by adding additional emotive mugshots, a more legible text font, and better writing for anyone that wasn't Megaman, I have to say the story is fairly solid (if a little predictable) I liked the blend of music from throughout the game series (an oppresive 8-bit "Crash" from MMZ1 when fighting Zero was a good choice), and that Zero fight looks like it's programmed to be hard (as it should be).
Through the really rough around the edges design choices made here, there looks like a potentially REALLY cool idea for a finale to the Classic series here, if perhaps a LITTLE too dark.
I really like your take on it. I probably would have had Megaman and Protoman die in the castle explosion though as they have stated many times: X and Megaman were seperate robots. X was more than likely created by light in response to Megaman failing to stop Zero. There was also some cataclysmic event that took place burying Light's lab deep underground. The testing of X only took 30 years but he wasnt activated for over 100 years because he was buried in rubble.Just some thoughts, but great job none the less!
Rock literally just broke the First Law of Robotics. Through inaction, he allowed Wily to be killed. Also, Zero should NOT have the Z-saber. He didn't get it until X2. I also doubt Rock could scratch Zero, let alone stalemate him in combat, but whatever.
Inafune already stated that Zero never killed anyone. So stop crying everyone. This is just an alternate universe. An evil one. But it can never be canon even if it tried to connect megaman and megaman X.

The X series is a follow up, but we don't know entirely what happened during the time skip. We have elements, yes, but not all of them. That's not true, at the 2nd phase of the Sigma fight at Megaman X5, Sigma said that he got that form from someone who hates him, and that someone is Dr. Wily because the original Maverick is a digital copy of Wily's soul, and Dr. Wily hates Megaman with every fiber of his being, and even in the future he still fights Megaman today through Sigma. In other words, Sigma IS Wily.

lAMZELLO Don't forget, Isoc from X6 also had a resemblance to Wily, and there's a huge hint about the original maverick being a copy of Wily's soul and Megaman and X being the same person. In the 3rd Zero Virus stage when you have to fight Zero/ Awakened zero when you're playing as X or X when you play as Zero, Dr. Wily label is in the background during that fight, and Sigma's battle body during the 2nd phase looks a lot like Gamma from Megaman 3, there's no way Serges would have knowledge of that robot.

Zero was so out of character in this it's not even funny. Keiji Inafune even said that Zero wasnt the reason for why the classic series characters are gone and not to mention that X and Classic MM are two different characters, not just different time periods of each other. Plus the whole "amnesia" aspect of Classic becoming X is a lazy way to justify the thing. But, i suppose fan work will be fan work.
Im not even mad at this interpretation of what happened to the original mega man. Maybe ots because i like the classic megaman over the x one, but it makes more sense to me than any other scenario

In the end, I cant complain too much. Capcom will never explain the in between MegaMan and X sagas as to how everything came to be, so, nice job in the end
There are some inaccuracies because Zero would only get his shoulderpads and Z-Saber after being rebuilt in X2. Also, X is a completely different robot, instead of a rebuilt Mega Man. But I liked the reference of Zero self-destructing to destroy Vile's Armor in X1.
While we know that they are different robots, the idea of this is still pretty good. Technically since he lost all memory of his past he's like a new robot as he was completely rebuilt.

Eso explica porque Light estaba preocupado con X. La teoría viene a lo siguiente: en algun momento Roll, Protoman, Bass y Rock "fusionan" sus inteligencias artificiales para sellar el viruz zero. esto provocaria que el cuerpo de zero "cambiara de color" a uno rojo (protoman), tenga ojos verdes (Rock), doble salto (bass) y emociones(?)(roll); Zero no es un reploid, es un robot máster, las emociones se las dieron protoman, rockman, roll y bass. después de esto light crea a x con emociones para evitar el fin de la humanidad (pues en las inscripciones alienigenas egipcias o babilónicas se mencionaba que las "emociones" era lo único que evitaba que los robots eliminaran a los humanos y los robots estos buscaran su auto mejoramiento sin limites que eventualmente llevaría a su destrucción.(esta destrucción, lo llevaría el virus omega, Willy trataría de volverse un dios (albert) para evitarlo). - Roll fue la primera reploid, en el reboot de megaman powered up, esta muestra sus sentimientos de celos y amor a rock, esto lo menciona a su propia copia (copia de roll) fabricada por willy. Ademas, la canción "Kaze no Tsutaete" de megaman and dash y marvel vs capcom 1 refuerza esta teoría. ¿a quien le canta roll?. -Otra teoría que tengo es que omega no era de este mundo (alíen) y por eso la razón explicita del porque lo expulsaron específicamente al espacio. -Eso puede explicar la historia de megaman starforce, capcom cancelo la historia posterior a megaman 8, suplantándola por porque la ley copa impedía comerciar sus videojuegos a un publico mas infantil. esto sucedió con otras franquicias como pokemon (los casinos, etc), super mario (mario sunshine y mario kart doubledash son mas realistas y censuraron varias cosas en sus juegos posteriores),etc. y por culpa de la ley copa muchos juegos y programas de tv se eliminaron y cancelaron. ironicamente muchos menores de edad jugaman gta, god of war y halo sin restricciones. jaja. lo único que me desconcierta era: ¿que era dinamo (megaman x5 y x6)? curiosamente me llamaba mucho la atención que: -el Dr.Dlooper (megaman x3) seguía vivo en megaman zx advent y el menciona que era un gran científico. (este se encuentra al inicio del nivel de la ciudad de legión, casi no hay vídeos y datos escritos de este punto en Internet, asi que, tendran que buscarlo por si mismos si lo quieren ver"). El carro de carreras "rush" de megaman ("megaman battle and chase" del videojuegos de carreras de magaman ) seguía con vida en megaman zx. ¿quizás algún intento de retomar battle and chase 2? seria genial con personajes de toda la saga, y de paso fusionarlo con el videojuego de F-zero X"" jaja.

Love the concept of this game & i think its high time capcom go into explaining wily creating zero , Dr light creating X , what happened to bass & treble , wily & mega man! The concept of this game should serve as a blueprint capcom needs to bring out in mega man 12!
Okay, here's my take on the series: Wily experimented with viruses. As he reached the end of his life he attempts to transplant his consciousness into a new body--ZERO! In a final battle between Mega Man and Zero/Wily, Mega Man seals them in the remains of Wily's lab. Since Zero doesn't kill Wily in the series, the only other logical situation is Wily downloads himself into Zero. The battle between Sigma and Zero (you see in X4) makes Wily shatter and spread into Sigma. As far as what happens to Mega Man, Proto Man, Roll, Bass....I have a feeling they may be buried somewhere, to be used in future X games. Now that Wily is in Axl, who knows what he'll go after now. Capcom really does need to produce an X title, I think it's been 10 years since the last!
That makes no sense....AT ALL look Wily didn't somehow magically transfer to sigma but the maverick virus did Wily transferred himself to Serges and some other guy not zero. Wily made the maverick virus which zero gave to sigma and Wily is still kinda alive in the X series if u want watch dookiesheds MegaMan theory vid.
Arcade Warrior Again, it's just a take on how Wily could possibly be alive. Yeah, Zero transferred the Maverick virus to Sigma, but Wily could have 'packaged' his own consciousness (or some mechanical version of it) into the virus. It all begins with Zero--the virus, appearance of Serges--all after Zero transfers the virus to Sigma. But who knows? Capcom seems to have internal problems these days, so Mega Man games look to have a bleak scheduled future. We may never know if they plan another X title. Sure wish they would.
Alex the retro It's nice to see that someone put effort into making a game for the fan theory that X and Megaman are the same robot. Kind of makes me wish that someone would make an alternative X Series that follows this fan storyline.
This game looks great! And the story it tells also very cool! So sad to see that almost all comments are negative! To everyone shouting because of a wrong armor or not-canon-like characters: Can‘t you remember what it was like when we where kids? When we were playing our own stories In our phantasie-worlds? I know this is fan made but it feels like a big goodbye to the original. Goodbye to wily, bass, protoman and dr.light and crew. Would of been nice to have seen the whole thing through. Dr. Lights last moments alive. His last words, what became of roll and any other surviving robots and end it there. Then of course enter into the megaman x games
MEGAZOURT of course there is. Megaman X is the futured Megaman. But with his update he lost all his memories. Zero was created by Dr. Albert Wily (yeah that's his full name) But Zero could deside his own will and Wily provided him the Wily-Virus. This would have removed all his memory and Wily could have used him to take over the world. But Zero got off his capsule to early. The Virus couldn't affect Zero completly. But it made Zero aggressive (but with his own wills and goals). If you want to know more let me know. Shell Master Tortwag Megaman X is the futured Megaman. But with his update he lost all his memories. If you saw the Megaman cartoon, there is one episode where Vile came back in time to destroy Megaman. X followed them and took care of Vile. X told Megaman that he is like his older "cousin". So actually you are right and wrong the same time xD X has nothing to do with protoman and Bass, but his past had. ^^

I think I realised something In megaman zero, zeros mind was put into a new body and his old one became the evil omega Is it possible that when zeros mind, filled with love and humility was removed, the original personality was restored In that sense, being called the “fake zero” has a little more meaning to it, as omega is more like what he originally was made to be
I don't like the Zero they used for this. He did not have that body type, the Z-Saber or those attacks until after X-2 were he was rebuilt and continued on through the X series.

En efecto, sin embargo, el juego cuenta con algunos errores como por ejemplo, Zero obtiene su Sable Z en la saga X, por otro lado, Este Zero consta con el sprite de los megaman X 4 hacia adelante donde tiene hombreras y algunas mejoras con respecto a su armadura original (Se supone que muere en X1 y reaparece con esa armadura con hombreras en X3) Por otro lado, Todo lo que afirman ahí es cierto, a X le toma 30 años en hacer un "testing" para activarse, pero, no es creado a partir del megaman original, es alguien a parte. Que habrá sucedido con los otros personajes es un misterio, Capcom aun no ha creado un juego de megaman que va entre secuelas como n Megaman a Megaman X o Megaman X a Megaman Zero (Elfs Wars)

This is the best fan fiction I’ve seen so far about this. Imagine that Wily, in an effort to finally put an end to Mega Man and have his plans succeed, only succeeds in creating a monster so powerful that it’s actually not only his own worst nightmare but his own demise. The irony that his own arrogance and determination to destroy the world and get revenge leads to his own downfall, as his best creation destroys his entire life’s work and gets him and his other robots killed. The only thing I’m not entirely convinced about is the original Mega Man and X being the same individual. I’ve always thought that the original and Zero had one final battle that ended in a draw, but both were so badly damaged that Zero was left at the mercy of unknown means to be repaired, while Mega Man eventually died tragically from his wounds, but not before Dr.Light managed to learn what he could from the ordeal and create X as a last ditch effort to keep the world safe and have something to match Zero before he himself died. Both Mega Mans maybe weren’t outright as powerful as Zero at the beginning, but the heart that they both fought with was a strength that couldn’t be matched by any other robots in that universe.
as we saw in Megaman ZX Advent,there also was Master Albert ( Wily?) and there is explained how Albert control his body,it was just like a puppet,controlling by the main consciousness,that's why when Serges died,there was Isoc,bcuz there was main body with the main consciousness,and it was presumably is DAN-000 Prototype Albert

The game looks awesome, but the story is just not right as a fan I can't aprove somethings here, X was created way later Dr. Light was dying and sealed X to be awaken in the future, altough Zero was active earlier I don't think that is too earlier, the first moments of Zero are shown in MMX4 and there was reploids already, so Zero and X problably was discovered almost in the same time. Wily probably finished Zero just before his death like Dr Light.
+Gustavo Souza Actually the events of the X series went like this. X was discovered first after Dr Cain was on an archaeological dig looking for plants. Once he activated X, he studied him and shifted his efforts into robotics. His first creation was Sigma and it was the first reploid he ever created after studying X. He was the most advanced Reploid ever. THEN, some of his creations starts to go nuts due to some flaws and when Sigma discovered Zero shit went sideways after that day forward.
I know this was created in mind of the whole "Zero killed everyone in the classic series" theory (even though Inafune already confirmed he didn't), but there's just alot of things wrong with this fan game's story. Or at least this sequence. - Dr Wily died of natural causes. He did manage to complete Zero before he died. But he never released him since he was already on his death bed (given, I'd like to think Wily pushed himself too hard and died for not taking care of himself). - Zero's design here is inaccurate with the X4-X5 flashbacks and X1. Zero only had round shoulder pads and his Z Buster as a weapon before he died the first time. Don't tell me the author was too lazy to resprite Zero to have his X1 design. - I think X4 made it clear that Zero was a berserk robot that doesn't even speak. - Rock and X are not the same robot. I believe its been stated numerous times that X was a new robot that Dr Light worked on in secret. Anyone who disagrees needs to do proper research or look at ReploidREVO's videos on the matter. Also this fan game doesn't even look that polished compared to something like Megaman Unlimited.
I disagree with one thing, I don't believe Wily completed Zero but when he transferred his consciousness over to Serges he was able to. I know it was never directly stated that Serges was Wily but c'mon its fairly obvious.
@@Tharja-iBW I thought it more likely that he was Isscs from X6. He knows all about Zero, including how to temporarily disable him. He HATES X with a passion. When Zero defeats Highmax, he is overjoyed rather than furious as he is with X. Then when his empty shell is found, Zero hears Wily's voice telling him that he is the greatest robot (something Wily probably said regularly while creating him and the original Maverick Virus).
It's not a matter of disagreeing with any of these it's entirely fanfic liberties to the story. - Wily on his deathbed is nowhere near as bad ass as this ending - While zero's design is different it can be explained away that he doesn't have said upgrades because protoman caused severe damage destroying the shoulder pads and z-sabre. It basically means a minor tweak to the story in that it wasn't the first time he had it and if you think about it, maybe said upgrades was because they realized they were components he actually had before. - I mean him being beserk can be chalked up to any range of factors after being released. Him being damaged, pick your poison. - The only real difference that actually matters is that Rock and X are different and of course you can look at it from the perspective of Rock being completely rebuilt hence it's equivalent to his old self dying since Light said he'd remember nothing in essence completely losing his 'self' but megaman being selfless made the sacrifice to be ready to fight Zero. I will admit, Megaman Unlimited was superior in game design
I have the idea that DR Willy used Roll and Protoman's blueprints to create Zero because if you see Roll and Protoman they use the same colors as Zero, Red, Yellow, Green, White
